@Grunt922 Hmmm as a civilian I don't think the chances are high that I'd go to combat so I guess if I were to buy a .45 glock it'd be 30SF. It should serve as home defense gun as well although I do like the 40 cal more. Thanks!
I own a Austria glock 30 I also like it to . I can tell you do alot of shoting there on your farm amazing control you have thanks for the video I injoy watching you hit the target of the animals.
dear sir, i just want to ask if the glock made in usa has the same quality with glock made in austria because here in my place the only available is the one made in usa. please respond.
I have a question. Because Glock 30 has a barrel 3.8" it has a mazzle velocity close to 800 fps. This is actually slower than other .45s including glock 21. Is the velocity that Glock 30 has enough for the bullet to expand?
Thanks for the vids on the Glock 30. I've been packing one as my off-duty sidearm for about 12 yrs and just vindicates everything I already KNEW about the gun. Great gun and hides extremely well in an Alessi cqc rig.
Have a glock 30. Just noticed the guide does not sit flush in the lower notch of the barrel, sits on the notch above. Happens everytime, a day at the range or dry fire. Is this normal? As anyone come across this?
Lead bullets have been used for over a 100 years, jacketed bullets are harder and deform less. A good scrubbing with some cleaners will remove amount of lead left behind. when you are shooting and the barrel heats up any real build up of lead is going to be none existent . The only time that I hear someone changing out barrels is to go to a different caliper like a .40 to a 9mm which can be done with glock’s very easily.
@DCtrumpetguy they are polygonally rifled. With traditional rifling you have grooves cut into the barrel. With polygonal rifling it looks like the barrel isn't actually round, but the rifling is a seam and between it is a flat piece of metal. All it does is foul the barrel much worse, which can result in a squib load and a kaboom. I know a lot of people who have no issue shooting lead rounds in Glocks. I am a fan of following the guidance given by the manufacturer but, I do not own any Glocks.
@barstoolguru I think that its because when you use lead casted bullets they leave access lead in the barrel and glock does not recommend it so thats why you should buy a second barrel for those rounds.

Mr. Hickoc45. You have got the best aim with all sidearms I have seen you shoot. And you acquire your targets so fast. You are an inspiration and your skills are something to strive for. I hope someday to be half as good.
Mr. Hickok45, I must say that Glock should hire you to advertise their guns! I have not seen anyone here on YouTube as skilled with a sub compact. You are the reason why I now own a Glock 26 and a Glock 30! keep up the great work!
I really enjoy your videos. They teach me something everytime I watch. I just purchased a Glock 30 and I was glad to learn about the barrel change for lead ammo. thanks again!
When you did own a Glock 36, were you able to fit 6 rounds in the magazine? Or was the spring too strong and tight, so 5 rounds (5+1 if Hot)? Thanks for your reply, Sharpshooter :-)
@machineguntongue , I don't recall. I know it's hard to get that last round in most of the larger caliber Glock magazines. I load them all down one unless it's 9mm.
@machineguntongue I have a Glock 36 and don't have any problems with just my fingers a lot of the time. Sometimes i'll use that speed loader thing to get the last 1 or 2 rounds in. I have found it much easier to load then a lot of double stack guns. I didn't like how thick the XD or Glock 30 were for ccw purposes so I got the Glock 36. Its very comfortable but its no pocket pistol. As a revolver fan I don't mind only having 6+1 shots especially in 45acp. Its very easy to carry a backup mag too.

Hey, Great Videos. Been watching for a while, I have a quick question I hope you can answer. I just bought my first handgun Glock 30sf. Everything seems stiff probably because it's new. I noticed one thing I wasn't sure that was normal. The slide release button is exceptionally hard to push, I'd have to pull the slide a little for the slide to cock back into place. Is this normal? very sad day for me Hickok45. i went to my local gun shop to purchase a glock 30 and was denied so now i must fill out the form and send it in with my finger print to get a reason for why i was denied. i was pretty shock considering i never had any problems with the law and just recently i think a year or 2 ago i got my citizenship and passport with flying colors no red flags so i have no idea why i was turned down for a handgun. i live in Gwenette county GA in case you were wondering.
Hi Mr hickok I havebeen looking through your videos and i haven't seem a Smith and Wesson 500 magnum it would be great if you could shoot one sometime thanks.
Hi Mr hickok I havebeen looking through your videos and i haven't seem a Smith and Wesson 500 magnum it would be great if you could shoot one sometime thanks
Hi Mr hickok; sorry if I'am asking the same question ; but Sr.I couldn't go through all of the comments .The wolf barrel that your useing .Out of the wolf barrel and the glock.Should I change to a after market barrel are not .Is it a waste of my money. And I don,t shoot reloads out of it. Love the way you shoot Sr. maybe one day I'll turn my " wife's " back yard into a shooting range.Thank you SR.
Hey im an intemidiate shooter, and I was wondering what glock you would reccomend for people who dont own anything larger than a .22 caliber. I want to get a glock 26 but people think that i should wait until im older because since it is so small, it would have too much recoil for a 13 year old. What would you do in my position?
@ssdlieb1 , Depends on how often your parents take you shooting and such. A slightly bigger gun, such as the Glock 19, might prove more fun for you. Don't know.
@hickok45 What parent would hand their 13 year old a gun ! its one thing to teach them gun safety but the actual shooting bit . i say wait atleast till their 16 or older.
@waseem1173 , You would not like me, then, because I taught my son to shoot when he was about six. He pretty much bypassed cap guns and such. Nothing magical about age; it's a responsibility and parental involvement issue. Of course, growing up with a shooting range just outside the house might not be typical.
@waseem1173 im 28 years old, my father bought me my first gun when i was 12 and I turned out just fine. As kids my cousins, brother, and even female members of the family (if they were interested) shot lots of differant guns. Its when children do not learn about them and shoot them that would scare me.Guns were not hid away from us, we were taught that they were not toys and how to handle them safely at a young age. nowadays parents are to afraid to let their children do anything. thats sad
@kris40oz123 yea i guess its cool. i was taught gun safety from a young age too but that was it. i remember back when i was a kid we used to stay at home while the elders go hog hunting and stuff. that sucked lol
do u think that the glock 17L and the glock 24 are good weapons to protect a home because i would like to purchase both of them but i need advice before hand
Damn u r a good shot. I was curious, when u shoot at those targets around 200 yards do u have to aim a little high to compensate for the drop? I own the Glock 30 SF but unfortunately have not been able to fire it yet. Amazing to think that fat round going that far and keeping that accuracy! Anyway love ur videos sir.
I assumed the sub-compact Glock 30 had poor accuracy and heavy recoil. For those reasons I intended to buy a Glock 21 and carry it in a shoulder holster. Obviously the faults with the Glock 30 were perceived faults not real faults. I feel more comfortable with a Glock 30 on my waist than with a Glock 21 tucked into my armpit. This video was very informative.
ey man, i enjoy watching ur videos. i have a glock 30 sf and i'm getting a hard time finding a iwb and leather paddle holster for it. any suggestions?
Great video Hickok45. I really do enjoy your videos. I never knew I could get an aftermarket barrel for the glocks. i have a 23 that I love. The design of these guns is just so impressive. Do you know if there is an aftermarket barrel that is made to shoot .22 lr rounds. That would be pretty nice for taking out plinking. I am looking to get another 22 pistol for cheap shooting. I dont have a reloader yet and it adds up pretty fast.
@Dabalzak , I think there are .22 conversion uppers for the Glock, but it's the entire slide and everything. I'm not very up on those, as I prefer to keep my .22 shooting in the area of .22 pistols. I'm a little concerned about messing up my muscle memory if part of the time my G27 has NO recoil and part of the time it's pretty snappy. It could affect my shooting ability, I think.
Owned a Glock 30SF version myself and I myself was just not proficent with it. I at the time was not an experienced enough shooter to accurately shoot the handgun. So it ended up getting traded for a Glock 22.
thankyou for the great video. i recently purchased a glock 36 and i love it. i hear it is very simular to the glock 30. other then the single stack mag. the glock 36 is perfect for me. thankyou for the helping me choose a glock. i wouldnt buy anything else from now on. but i would like to buy a glock 27 or 30 in the next week or too. i would like to know which one you prefer. what are some pro's and con's on both if you dont mind. i love your video's buy the way.
@falloutboi321 , The Glock 30 is a great shooter, but you'll probably find it rather large and thick after the G26. You might prefer the G27 unless it's mostly a range gun.
Wow.....been watching all your glock videos...and all I can say is wow! I would be doing good to hit those animals with a scoped rifle, much less a glock 26/27/30. I shoot a glock 22 and I am still trying to get it down where my point of aim is the point of impact.

@NERD585 No you hood version of ignorant English is not slang or "ebonics" its ghetto, I don't know any better retard talk. If you could speak normally then is would be slang. Since you don't know the difference between the two its ghetto. But now I am racists for pointing it out right black man? Because you can say what you want but no one else. Correct? Or should I say Word?
@maloso1313 When the hell was I using "ignorant english?"
How could he say anything, you mean he TYPED it. Also, yea you might be racist; "word?" who even uses that anymore? Update your knowledge. Furthermore if you want to expose us then try not to use ghetto, look up what a ghetto is. Everybody lives in the city, theres no race classification to your living environment. So since you DONT know the difference between the two im going to tell you something all races can understand:
@NERD585 I do not know who uses "word" as I do not live in the GHETTO which we all know is the crappy welfare drug dealing part of town. I do love how you post your racist shit then claim to be the moral one. I make a joke about popping a collar. So you feel then need to correct me and say ebonics? I don't give two shits what lang you use while running from the police. Go fuck your self. Enjoy my tax money, and please try to get a job. Oh and hey Calvin... I will take fries with that ,
HAHA, your obviously delusional so i'll give you a break down:
Your racist and probably live somewhere where they fly a confederate flag...GHETTO-place the Jews were held during the Holocaust. I go to a 4-year private school that ranks 6th on the Princeton review. I work as an apprentice at a law firm. Your jokes suck. NEVER EVER worked in fast food Never had to run from the police, you probably ran away after your anti-black protest.
@NERD585 Well I am happy you are going to school and not selling drugs on the corner with the rest of you family. Yeah I ran at the million man march... to find some chain and an auctioneer.
@maloso1313 haha how cool are you? Too bad the Lord didnt bless you with an open-mind and humanity or else you would be a quarter decent. Instead the devil talks from out of your mouth, sad story. My family is full of vets, businessmen/women, and soldiers...too bad your family couldnt get out of 8 Mile....have a nice life wasting air....
@NERD585 8th mile good M&M ref there. I could careless about your family. I'm sure you are an upstanding person. So why you feel the need to protect all the rest that are not is amazing. You must get tired explaining why all the people in the projects are crack dealers. I myself would just not care as they have nothing to do with me. I still like how you attack me and now try to hold high ground and now try to bring god into it. So lets recap. racist, education, god..good tactics
NO IT'S NOT! Nerves and habits are one thing O.C.D. is another. This guy does not have O.C.D. Got to NIMH.Gov and read alittle about O.C.D. He want's to shoot from a position similar to one he would be in if he were being forced to defend himself. If he were picking up ice cream in a mall he would not have the gun sticking out of his shirt.
@oldwhitehouse I never claimed he had ocd. I was trying to answer to hickock in a general manner what ocd is, he said he might need an interpreter and I was trying to give him a lay mans response. I'm well aware he doesn't have it. I understand why he shoots from that manner, and it probably second nature after serving on the police force,. I'm not quite sure why you decided to jump on me for a bunch of questions I never asked.
Correct me if I am wrong, Mr. Hickok, but it appears after watching your G29 video and comparing it to your G30 video, that the G30 is easier to shoot well. More shots were on target at greater distance with the G30 than with the G29. Is this a correct observation?
@frei1furimmer , I agree that the G30 might be easier to shoot well, although there really shouldn't be any reason for a dramatic difference. If I shot hardly anything but the G29, I would likely shoot it very well. Where I shoot all the various Glocks, the G29 presents more recoil when I pick IT up.
do u think that the glock 17L and the glock 24 are good weapons to protect a home because i would like to purchase both of them but i need advice before hand
I purchased a new GLOCK 30, and took it to the range for the first time yesterday. I thought I was pretty good with it. Watching how good you shoot with it makes me question my own abilities. None the less, it only makes me want to work harder to be better. AWESOME SHOOTING MAN! Keep up the good videos!
@BUCKETASS I'd say don't shoot that, or aluminum case out of your glock, aluminum is used to cut diamond, so your feed ramp will look like a stair case alot sooner than brass, and ive heard wolf ammo and that grey coating is bad for guns, if you shoot alot and get your weapon hot, that grey stuff will melt off onto your gun and then it hardens and is hard to get off, just what ive heard
your reviews have been very useful especially when i start to look around for new firearms. i won't buy one unless i watch your videos. thank you for some of the best of the information on youtube!
This guy proves that the short barrel on the glock 30 makes no difference. 9 times out of 10 its a bad shot blaming a good gun. Glock 30 is one of my all time favs.
i just got the g30 and i love it so far!!

very sad day for me Hickok45. i went to my local gun shop to purchase a glock 30 and was denied so now i must fill out the form and send it in with my finger print to get a reason for why i was denied. i was pretty shock considering i never had any problems with the law and just recently i think a year or 2 ago i got my citizenship and passport with flying colors no red flags so i have no idea why i was turned down for a handgun. i live in Gwenette county GA in case you were wondering.

@paramikemunoz, The only reason to replace the stock barrel is to shoot cast lead bullets.

keltec556 1 year ago
Hey im an intemidiate shooter, and I was wondering what glock you would reccomend for people who dont own anything larger than a .22 caliber. I want to get a glock 26 but people think that i should wait until im older because since it is so small, it would have too much recoil for a 13 year old. What would you do in my position?
ssdlieb1 1 year ago
@ssdlieb1 , Depends on how often your parents take you shooting and such. A slightly bigger gun, such as the Glock 19, might prove more fun for you. Don't know.
hickok45 1 year ago
@hickok45 What parent would hand their 13 year old a gun ! its one thing to teach them gun safety but the actual shooting bit . i say wait atleast till their 16 or older.
waseem1173 1 year ago
@waseem1173 , You would not like me, then, because I taught my son to shoot when he was about six. He pretty much bypassed cap guns and such. Nothing magical about age; it's a responsibility and parental involvement issue. Of course, growing up with a shooting range just outside the house might not be typical.
hickok45 1 year ago
@hickok45 ohh well if you did it , it must be alright(what can i say i am a believer lol)
and yeah thats not very typical thats awesome lol to grow up near a shooting range
waseem1173 1 year ago
@waseem1173 im 28 years old, my father bought me my first gun when i was 12 and I turned out just fine. As kids my cousins, brother, and even female members of the family (if they were interested) shot lots of differant guns. Its when children do not learn about them and shoot them that would scare me.Guns were not hid away from us, we were taught that they were not toys and how to handle them safely at a young age. nowadays parents are to afraid to let their children do anything. thats sad
kris40oz123 1 year ago
@kris40oz123 yea i guess its cool. i was taught gun safety from a young age too but that was it. i remember back when i was a kid we used to stay at home while the elders go hog hunting and stuff. that sucked lol

@juice9x030, Should do just fine.
hickok45 1 year ago
Damn u r a good shot. I was curious, when u shoot at those targets around 200 yards do u have to aim a little high to compensate for the drop? I own the Glock 30 SF but unfortunately have not been able to fire it yet. Amazing to think that fat round going that far and keeping that accuracy! Anyway love ur videos sir.
LastBlastOfMy45 1 year ago
I assumed the sub-compact Glock 30 had poor accuracy and heavy recoil. For those reasons I intended to buy a Glock 21 and carry it in a shoulder holster. Obviously the faults with the Glock 30 were perceived faults not real faults. I feel more comfortable with a Glock 30 on my waist than with a Glock 21 tucked into my armpit. This video was very informative.

Dabalzak 1 year ago
@Dabalzak , I think there are .22 conversion uppers for the Glock, but it's the entire slide and everything. I'm not very up on those, as I prefer to keep my .22 shooting in the area of .22 pistols. I'm a little concerned about messing up my muscle memory if part of the time my G27 has NO recoil and part of the time it's pretty snappy. It could affect my shooting ability, I think.

Thank you for these great videos.

Owned a Glock 30SF version myself and I myself was just not proficent with it. I at the time was not an experienced enough shooter to accurately shoot the handgun. So it ended up getting traded for a Glock 22.

thankyou for the great video. i recently purchased a glock 36 and i love it. i hear it is very simular to the glock 30. other then the single stack mag. the glock 36 is perfect for me. thankyou for the helping me choose a glock. i wouldnt buy anything else from now on. but i would like to buy a glock 27 or 30 in the next week or too. i would like to know which one you prefer. what are some pro's and con's on both if you dont mind. i love your video's buy the way.
falloutboi321 1 year ago
@falloutboi321 , The Glock 30 is a great shooter, but you'll probably find it rather large and thick after the G26. You might prefer the G27 unless it's mostly a range gun.

Wow.....been watching all your glock videos...and all I can say is wow! I would be doing good to hit those animals with a scoped rifle, much less a glock 26/27/30. I shoot a glock 22 and I am still trying to get it down where my point of aim is the point of impact.

@maloso1313 wtf is "ghetto". First learn the fact thats its slang or if your an ass, ebonics. Second, good shooting!
NERD585 1 year ago
@NERD585 No you hood version of ignorant English is not slang or "ebonics" its ghetto, I don't know any better retard talk. If you could speak normally then is would be slang. Since you don't know the difference between the two its ghetto. But now I am racists for pointing it out right black man? Because you can say what you want but no one else. Correct? Or should I say Word?
maloso1313 1 year ago
@maloso1313 When the hell was I using "ignorant english?"
How could he say anything, you mean he TYPED it. Also, yea you might be racist; "word?" who even uses that anymore? Update your knowledge. Furthermore if you want to expose us then try not to use ghetto, look up what a ghetto is. Everybody lives in the city, theres no race classification to your living environment. So since you DONT know the difference between the two im going to tell you something all races can understand:
FUCK OFF.
NERD585 1 year ago
@NERD585 I do not know who uses "word" as I do not live in the GHETTO which we all know is the crappy welfare drug dealing part of town. I do love how you post your racist shit then claim to be the moral one. I make a joke about popping a collar. So you feel then need to correct me and say ebonics? I don't give two shits what lang you use while running from the police. Go fuck your self. Enjoy my tax money, and please try to get a job. Oh and hey Calvin... I will take fries with that ,
maloso1313 1 year ago
@maloso1313 IM THE RACIST ONE?!
Stop spamming this vid...

NERD585 1 year ago
@NERD585 8th mile good M&M ref there. I could careless about your family. I'm sure you are an upstanding person. So why you feel the need to protect all the rest that are not is amazing. You must get tired explaining why all the people in the projects are crack dealers. I myself would just not care as they have nothing to do with me. I still like how you attack me and now try to hold high ground and now try to bring god into it. So lets recap. racist, education, god..good tactics

@hickok45 It's obsessive compulsive disorder. When people repeat certain actions because of nerves, or habit.
jkitsunej 1 year ago
NO IT'S NOT! Nerves and habits are one thing O.C.D. is another. This guy does not have O.C.D. Got to NIMH.Gov and read alittle about O.C.D. He want's to shoot from a position similar to one he would be in if he were being forced to defend himself. If he were picking up ice cream in a mall he would not have the gun sticking out of his shirt.
oldwhitehouse 1 year ago
@oldwhitehouse I never claimed he had ocd. I was trying to answer to hickock in a general manner what ocd is, he said he might need an interpreter and I was trying to give him a lay mans response. I'm well aware he doesn't have it. I understand why he shoots from that manner, and it probably second nature after serving on the police force,. I'm not quite sure why you decided to jump on me for a bunch of questions I never asked.
jkitsunej 1 year ago
nice shooting im impressed sceriously
cmonbabeh 1 year ago
Correct me if I am wrong, Mr. Hickok, but it appears after watching your G29 video and comparing it to your G30 video, that the G30 is easier to shoot well. More shots were on target at greater distance with the G30 than with the G29. Is this a correct observation?
frei1furimmer 1 year ago
@frei1furimmer , I agree that the G30 might be easier to shoot well, although there really shouldn't be any reason for a dramatic difference. If I shot hardly anything but the G29, I would likely shoot it very well. Where I shoot all the various Glocks, the G29 presents more recoil when I pick IT up.

@BUCKETASS ,
I don't shoot Wolf ammo. I know lots do, and there's probably no problem with it. Since I handload, I don't have to make the decision.
hickok45 1 year ago
@BUCKETASS I'd say don't shoot that, or aluminum case out of your glock, aluminum is used to cut diamond, so your feed ramp will look like a stair case alot sooner than brass, and ive heard wolf ammo and that grey coating is bad for guns, if you shoot alot and get your weapon hot, that grey stuff will melt off onto your gun and then it hardens and is hard to get off, just what ive heard
