I had this done many times over a 6 month period ending with a total synovectomy of my knee. It turned out that I have arthritis in my lower joints and a constant infection was one of the symptoms early on. I think you are doing GREAT and holding very still! I almost could not stand the pain when my knee was drained. Actually the pain killer they used on me felt like my leg was on fire! Bravo to you!

Lucky. You got lidocaine! When they first drained mine at the ER I got lidocaine, but man when my orthopedic surgeon did it (because they thought it was infected) I didn't have anything! He went under my knee cap with it too! Very painful!

well i just recently had it done buy a different doctor that was a "professional" he had another doctor tell him wat to do..so it hurt like hellllll, he kept hittin really sensative parts. but make sure u have a specialist do it not ur doctor!!

Excellent documentation. I had it done years ago and only one syringed was filled. Just like your knee, I saw the size shrink down as the fluid drained out. After weeks of pain it feels so much better afterwards.
