Oh, and just to let you know, the Secret Service was NOT created originally to protect the President but for something else. They do something from the start which they still do until the present time besides protecting officials. I'll let you do your homework to figure that out.

@alwilliam Ha ha yes many do not comprehend the fact that only a small portion of the Secret Service actually work in Protection of the president or dignitaries. They really work in enforcing federal laws related to counter fitting
