  • Are these clowns serious? The loan was PAID OFF WITH ANOTHER GOVERNMENT LOAN! And they still have BILLIONS in pensions to pay with no means to even come close to paying, what about that?

  • watch?v=SOaS2SymjQ4&NR=1

  • History shows that Ed is wrong. Or maybe just lying.

  • /watch?v=SOaS2SymjQ4&feature=feedrec_grec_index

  • capitalism is a profit & loss system. You invest your own capital or those who voluntarily exchange with into new factors of production and you reap both the profits and the losses incurred. Profits are the motivator. Losses keep you frugal. If u remove the losses or fuck with profits, then u encourage moral hazards and inefficiency. GM is already practically dead- its merely suckin on life support from govt just cuz som socialist decide to play god and decide winners & losers

  • Steam shovels are way too efficient & will 'destroy' too many jobs- spoons will create a ton of jobs

  • THERE STILL GOVT MOTORS, THEY STILL OWE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS! GM PUT THEIR SELF IN THIS SITUATION, I DONT FEEL BAD FOR THEM!

  • Lying sack of crap. As well as the bs network he works for.

  • Ed Schultz is a sham. GM paid back only some of the loan with TARP money. The GM commercials said they paid it back "in full". What a lie, Government Motors!

  • Propaganda at its finest. MSNBC is no better than FAUX News. They all suck.

  • @lorenzo8500 Kill yourself please because you're so stupid.

  • The reality is Joe Public owned shares in GM. GM went bust and Joe Public got nothing. Uncle Sam bails out GM using tax dollars from Joe Public. GM then sells new shares to Joe Public to repay Uncles Sam the money it got from Joe Public. Lesson: Joe Public is a sucker.

  • did anyone hear about the major GM recall??

oh thats right the liberal median doesnt cover things that go wrong inside unions, cuz most of those ppl vote democrat cuz they think ppl like ED and anyone on the left is for the working man LMFAO!

you wont hear ANYTHING on the GM recall. but when i private sector company like toyota messes up they get fuck in the ass by the UAW.

demonize what you want to control. bottom line. and you see this every single day in this country.

  • Ed is a dumbfuck,

GM didnt pay it back you crack head. and fuck all you union hacks too. fuck you, really fuck you. anyone who seriously buys this bullshit that GM paid it back.. go max out your credit card. and then go get another cedit card on a cash advance and pay off your other card with that one. then see if your debt is gone dumbshits.

this might be alittle to much for some ppl, the government took out a loan on itself to pay off its own debt.

  • Hahahaha!!! Ed Schultz is an idiot. GM paid back their loan.....this guy makes Chris Rock look like a crappy comedian. That was funny.

Yep, GM paid back $50 billion Ed. Even though they haven't made a profit since being bailed out. What an idiot.

  • So then you're saying GM shouldn't pay anything back, because they borrowed so much, right? Think I'll call my mortgage company and thell them how you told me never to pay back large loans, because it's just not enough, after all they own my house until I pay for it. Power to the ....banks.

You guys are smart, fiscal rascals.

  • @jpeter4333

    hahahaah

they never did pay back the loan. lol goes to show how uneducated socialists/statists are. they dont have any sense of economics. What the hell is the meaning in subsidizing / encouraging unproductiveness & inefficiency? If u want JOBS, then its very simple, lets have a construction projcet just for the sake of it. Lets build a road to nowhere using not steam shovels but spoons.

  • This is ridiculous. GM got $50 billion from the government in TARP funds, $6.7 of which was in the form of a loan. $13 billion of it was in the form of an escrow, which was supposed to act as working capital. The remaining billions went into stock purchases, making the government the majority owner. They used some of the escrow to pay back the loan portion.

  • First, it's money they would have had to pay off anyway, regardless of where they got it. It's borrowed too, so maybe you don't pay back your loans, but other do. Second, I'm sure you would be happy with 250,000 more workers unemployed, and no U.S. auto makers. You're so fiscally smart.

  • BOYCOTT GM - THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE LIE. They used $6 Billion dollars in tax payer money from a $13 Billion dollar escrow account to "pay the loan off early." The US tax payers are out over $50 BILLION dollars on this horrible transaction. By the way these thieves are also trying to get another low interest "loan" for another $10 Billion dollars so that they can retool their plants.

  • yes they have paid them back, but what about the US government still owning 60% of the company? thats Socialism.. So basically the US government paid itself back. with our tax dollars.

  • So GM paying off the loan isn't a story, or disproves the sky is falling crowd who wanted 250,000 to go jobless, foreign car manufactures only and said we would never get it back.

    I see your point...less.

  • It's stunning how stupid these "media" people are. GM is running their payoff commercials, these idiots are extolling Obama's economy management. And most of us believe it. The only real news is on Russia Today. What's wrong with this picture?

  • By using other TARP money, you frauds. GM's sales continue on a downward trend because no one wants their garbage products.

  • Wrong. The bailout prevented the bankruptcies that would have dissolved GM and Chrysler. The bottom feeding share holders wanted to bring down Chrysler, had it not been for the courts deciding for the majority of other share holders who were willing to settle.

The government succeeded in keeping both companies together.

Try remembering all the facts sometime.

  • @jpeter4333 It disproves nothing! The story is the money was paid back through other TARP money. This is about the stupidest move GM could of made.

  • Ed is wrong again. GM failed to avoid the bankruptcy the bailout was for. All the bailout did was feed more money to the unions.

Now will obama spend all this money as well, like he did with the money the banks paid back?

Note, the government enforcers still run GM.

  • @frednoname1 -- I wouldn't expect "Ed" or anyone else on the Obama Channel

(MSNBC) to do real arithmetic. You see, , the U.S. government spent over

$52 Billion on GM. Only $6.7 Billion was considered a 'loan'.

    O.K., that's $52,000,000,000.00 minus $6,700,000,000.00 What was your answer? (hint: it's $45,300,000,000.00)

FORTY FIVE BILLION THREE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS.

  • @ThatMiserableCat

    PAID BACK???????

    I THINK NOT ! ! ! ! ! ! !

DDum pProgresseves dumb bunnies aLL !

    jip hop economics y'aLL
