  • Ground Speed!! wow!

  • Lord i love Victor on the base...greatest base guitar player in the world!!!

  • Marty can play alot of instruments and can jump in with anyone and play just by hearing the music like he did here. He is one hell of a musician and also one hell of a nice guy if you ever have a chance to meet him. He is not like a lot of stars who make you feel weird, he will make you feel like you have known each other for years. I guess that's the country boy in him.

  • Better than porn. Nuff said.

  • day-yam a damn

  • @goldrb6 GOT DAYUMM!

  • The great Marty Stuart comes to Watseka Theatre watseka Illinois on Saturday July 2, 2011.

  • These gentlemen DO understand music, rythmicity, and just about everything about music and the art of just doin' it!

  • WOW. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • that put me in a good mood !!

  • Unbelievable!

  • WOW!!! Thank you, Thank you!!! Absolutely Fantastic

  • I'm actually speechless! My mouth is literally wide open in amazement, what an incredible performance and show of talent!

  • class video, thanks for sharing Ian

  • Boog this is an excellent share! Great performance video! This is cool! Big thumbs up. Good to see Marty still has the "big hair." Great talents

    Peace,

    Bobby

  • awesome video

  • That's cool the way Marty incorporates retuning into the song. This is the best!

  • Got to love the ground speed! im not sure if i have heard Bela play that one before, very nice video

  • Thank you ,bela and marty, this is to me the "rebirth" of "natural Bridge",Marty show the courage to do this possible live..Bela invented it

  • Now that right there is some talent. And some badass music.

  • First time i EVER clapped for a YOUTUBE clip. Saw Marty this weekend. Should be entertainer of the year EVERY year.

  • Are those leather pants?

  • WOW

  • day-YAM!

  • wow so much talent on one stage, Victor Wooten, Bela Fleck and Marty Stuart

  • ...aaaand that dude with the...uh--the silly synth drum thing! Yeah!

  • That Marty can PICK!

  • he's a picker for sure

  • wow. very nice!

  • very cool,,,luv it

  • captical OMG. who has the rest of the video?

  • Just FYI Nathan, Marty plays along another 3-4 additional minutes on a more typical Bela Fleck song. The total time Marty played was about 11-12 minutes. I'm going to take another look at the old video and see if its worth posting a Part Two. Thanks for the interest!

  • A complete redifinition of the banjo and mandolin.... Bela + Marty = yum yum jammy goodness. Holy cow to see somethin like that live...

  • Yup... Long-time fan of Marty's Great Stuff...and superior musician.

That Mr. Fleck ain't so bad either ; )

  • Marty is one of the most under-rated musicians on the planet.

  • Marty kicks ass...

  • had to watch this one again...Marty really fit right in here... This is what music is all about.

  • victor is the most pimp base guitar player ever

  • hell yeah

  • Yeah, but is it really bluegrass?

  • its fusion. this song is more funky but a lot of their stuff is bluegrass fusion. and who cares what its called its good music

  • Does anybody know what that funky ass bass is??

    Strange looking!!

  • The instrument that the guy on the right is playing, who introduced Bela at the beginning is called a "synth axe drumitar". It's not a bass. It's a percussion instrument. He'll either play it alone, or play it with one hand and a conventional drum set with the other.

  • well if you meant the bass in the back ground its the victor wooten signature yin yang fodera

  • drumitar

  • i see victor wooten in the background too

  • thats Victor alright, hes funky

  • Love Marty, he is the best!

  • Their performance must have been a blast to see in person.

    aaaaeeeeee!

  • o yes it was, this was at rhythm and roots, and it was amazing,i was right in the front it was one hell of a show

  • This reminds me of an interview with victor where he mentions how the banjo is a really funky instrument because of how percussive it is. The funkateers just haven't really caught on yet. I think the same definitely goes for mandolin. Think of "Lets take it to the stage" by Funkadelic or "Love Rollercoaster" by The Ohio Players with the guitar parts being replaced by mandolin!!!! I'd like to see it...

  • Veeeeery Cool...so much fun to watch! Thanks for posting and for the great camera work you did! A nice steady shot is much appreciated!

  • Who knew Funk and Bluegrass could mesh so well?

  • It never gets old hearing great great musicians but I think Bela won this showdown handsdown!

  • That's probably not a fair comparrison b/c Bela wrote the song and Marty had never even heard it before.

But Bela is such an amazing musician its hard to imagine anyone better, maybe as good, but I doubt any better.

  • Marty can hold his own with anyone whether on guitar or mandolin.

  • These two ought to get together more often.

  • I was there - oh man... this even took place after Marty and his band played.. it was very cool to watch, hear, experience. Awesome festival, amazing experience... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

  • I would have been there, But no...

  • Anyone who thinks banjos and mandolins can't be funky are just ignorant! LOL This was fantastic! I'd have liked to seen Marty in the pirate hat, though.
