  • WTF A LIE. GRAY FOX DID DIE ON THE BATTLE VS METAL GEAR - so how is it possible that solid kills him the 2nd time?!

  • Heh, true PAT-riot ^_^

  • Kinda stupid to see some people think that the NES MG was part of Metal Gear. MSX people, that's what you should mention when you want to look "smart" to people who love MG. Saying NES will just make you idiots.

  • Kinda funny to see the NES MG to have a "Big-Badass-Nuclear-Robot-of-Catastrophe" in the cover, but as the game progresses, you realize that MG doesn't really have that Robot called "Metal Gear", There's no "Metal Gear" in Metal Gear!

  • so are naked and old snake the same ppl?

  • @Rustycode89 go replay the games, begginging with 2D metal gear >.<

  • @DerUnbekannteFlo aaah thats too much i dont have time for those plus my dad sold em :(

  • @Rustycode89 Send him instantly to mental hospital

  • @DerUnbekannteFlo he sold all the games even the PS2 ILL GIVE EM A REASON TO BE IN THE HOSPITAL

  • @Rustycode89 No, Solid Snake and Old Snake are the same people. Naked Snake; otherwise known as Big Boss, was killed.

  • oohh and where do comes the video? is it a subtitled version?

  • Can Anyone tell me why big boss/naked snake becomes the "bad" man?

  • @shadowrichter He killed the Boss, wanted to fulfill her will to make up for it, but misinterpreted it so he thought she wanted universal warfare, a world where soldiers would always have a place.

In the end, Solid Snake was the only one who was able to honor the Boss' true will. Big Boss realized this when he was debriefed by Naomi after the Patriots AIs were destroyed. In the end, he renounces Outer Heaven, kills Zero, and finally, sacrifices himself to save Snake from committing suicide.

  • @JohnKiller118 thenks man now everything is clear (well i think its at least nearly clear)

  • @shadowrichter No problem.

If you have any other questions about the story, just give me a holler.

  • @JohnKiller118 Hey, can u plz explain what happens to naked snake, or why we only get to see him in mgs3? Im a gbig fan of the game but I only have MGS3 in my hands right now, so until I get the other 2 (excluding 4) I would really like to know more about the snakes so I won't get mixed up. Please explain if and when you can :). Ty!!

  • @Georgis1995 Naked Snake is Big Boss, who later becomes one of the series' biggest villains (in Metal Gear 1 and 2 for the 8-bit MSX), so he's actually in many of the games.

Peace Walker serves as a direct sequel to the events of MGS3, which serves as a massive foreshadowing on how Naked Snake became the warmonger he is in the MSX games. You should play it if you have a PSP, or wait for the "MGSHD Collection" for the PS3 and 360 coming this fall, which also includes MGS2 and 3.

  • @JohnKiller118 :O. Awesome thx, now Ill get to play one of my fav games on xbox too :P. Btw thx a lot it did indeed help me, but I can't get over the idea of Naked Snake being a villain, its just not right :((

  • @Georgis1995 Well, if it bothers you that much, MGS4 gives the character an indirect chance at redemption. I won't say how because I don't want to spoil the game for you, but it involves Solid Snake picking up where he left off (as in, he did what Big Boss would have done if he didn't turn evil.) Keep an eye on Solid whenever you get the chance.

I hope you enjoy the series as much as I did. :D And remember to play the MSX games! You can download English translated ROMs and blueMSX to emulate em'

  • @JohnKiller118 Thx a lot for clearing the things. I really appreciate it and Im sorry for wasting your time!! Eh u know its not that it bothers me sooo much. I like solid too, after all he is still a clone of naked snake... What pissed me off was the part that they actually made Big Boss evil =/. But anw... Thx a lot again!!!! :))

  • @Georgis1995 No problem.

I suck at wording, by the way, so sorry for the "if it bothers you" crap.

  • Comment removed

  • @Georgis1995 (cont.) Even in the games he's not in (MGS1 and 2), his legacy plays a big role in the motivations of the villains (Liquid Snake, Solidus, and Liquid Ocelot in MGS4), as well as the source for most of Solid Snake's (yes, they're different characters) sorrow.

I hope all this helps. :P

  • MGS = One of the best fking video game series in video gaming history!!!

  • @MojowidanAK Totally agreed dude!

  • you have to keep watching, he doesnt kill himself... he shoots the gun but not in his mouth and then big boss shows up

  • Indeed... play MGS4 and u all know Solid is a free mman

  • JESUS YOU FUCKING PRICK!! way to spoil me on the greatest series of all time, just before I got to play it myself.

  • You have to keep watching... he meets big boss

  • hay ive played though mgs4 thre times, and that seene where snake puts a gun to his mouth, its not in the game, was it just made for the trailers

  • uhh ur wrong at the end of mgs4 before big boss shows up snake puts the gun in his mouth thn

  • yeah i know that dude, but he never does it in the middle east

  • It never happen because when kojima completed the game he said "fuck it" so he had the team redo the game thats why the cutseens and graphics changed.

  • You must be dumb. Snake attempts to commit suicide on the graveyard. The scene in this video shows snake in the middle east putting a gun in his mouth which was just made for trailers because it never happened >_> i hate when I have to say this because people should already know this.

  • @CrazyAndy3333

Thats cause your not waiting for the ending credits to finish, you have to wait for that. It comes after. It IS in the game...I've watched in so many times.

  • he sounds australian

  • the narrator's voice is awful

  • And big boss yes, did want never ending war to unite the world, misinterpreting the Boss' ideal of a world united that she saw from space.a lot closer than zeros vision, however.

OH/Zanzibar were both just fortresses with MetalGears as displays of power, he didn't plan to attack anyone. his plan was to take downthe Patriots.(hence solidus the perfect clone getting closest to his ideals) and thought snake was with the patriots, and going to bring the world to ruin, learned from Ursula's prophecy.

  • Pretty sure the voice IS liquid ocelot.. since this was from quite some time ago, it was before they had the voice be ocelot with a liquid accent..

its the first crack at it.. a liquid.. with an ocelot accent..hence the gruffness..

thats exactly whos voice it is, they first met in this incarnation in the middle east..

before it had either been just ocelot, or liquid taking over, just one or the other. so the first run-in with snake in the fused form, is the middle east.

    there ya go.

  • That's not Liquid's voice. Liquid did not first meet Solid Snake in the Middle East, like the narration says, and besides, Liquid is deader than dog sh*t. Cam Clarke did Liquid's voice acting, whose voice, regardless of role, is recognizable to millions of people. This voice actor is someone else.

  • It'a NOT Pat Zimmerman....is an unamed man,who was made up for the Saga...hes not in the games

  • The Guy Who Narrates Is a Posh Britsh Man He Said Patriot "Poshly" DUMBASS AMERICAN

  • This shit has just went tits up for me.

I only ever played 2 MGS, MSG 2 and 3

Did I encounter 2 different 'Snakes' or the same person?

  • In MGS2, you're playing as Solid Snake from Metal Gear 1 & 2, MGS1, and MGS4.

In MSG3, you're playing as Naked Snake, who is ends up becoming Big Boss, your father and the big bad guy of MG1 & 2. IOW, MGS3 takes place before MG1.

So yes, it's two different Snakes.

  • He said Patriot wrong xD

  • i thouth MGS4 whas final part

  • What does he mean by "Once known as a hero who saved the world now damned as the villian to bring it to ruin" because Snake didn't ruin the world he saved it and always has saved it.

  • i think he's referring to the shadow moses incident and/or the mgs2 story. cuz snake and otacon were labeled as criminals after that

  • He was titled a hero after ZanzibarLand and Shadow Mozes, but when Liquid/Ocelot framed him at the Tanker Incident, people where thinking he was a terrorist

  • I have metal gear 4... it`s great but i dont know... i loved better Mgs3... the controls are simpler

  • I would say Zero but... He's dead surely and did he ever meet Solid Snake? Ah wait Middle East... ok.

  • i just finished the movie and it answered my question so nevermind.

  • are solid snake and naked snake the same person? i only have the 3rd MGS and they dont say anything about solid snake.

  • naked snake is big boss, who is snake's "father".

  • No.Naked Snake is Big Boss from Metal Gear 1 and 2.

  • noo naked snake is

    big boss from mgs3

  • You're both right: Naked Snake (who you play as in MGS3) becomes Big Boss in MG1, Mg2

  • i want the 1st SOOONG....sounds great

  • Solid snake's such a badass!!

  • @MojowidanAK B.A.M.F.

  • iI hate the fact that Big Boss dies he was so cool in Snake Eater

  • play part 4....i think you might have a diffrent feeling about that... watch all the movies and let the credits roll!

  • i already played Guns of the Patriots twice yes Big Boss joined the Patriots yes he never wanted Snake when he was Born yes he tried to make a world for soldiers that is the story about MGS4 with PMC's yes he came back in the last scene of Guns of the Patriots only to die again but i still find Big Boss to be cool

  • yeah but in metal gears he wanted a fuckin never ending war, that asshole. he's still a badass though

  • Who was it?

  • There's a problem, Big Boss DID tell Solid Snake that he was his son, because in MGS1, in the torture cell, there's a codec interaction between Naomi and Snake where he reveals that Big Boss told him he was his son.

  • i'd recommend you to see this link thesnakesoup (period) org (slash) ?section=myths&content=daddyboss

  • that narrator sounds Like Liquid

    liquid Ocelot Perhaps?

  • ...he sounds nothing like Liquid!! And he says in the beginning "I first met him in the middle east". The only similarity I see between Ocelot and Liquid is it's gruff, and it's a British accent, respectively. Are you as ignorant as you are retarded?

  • did you just call me a twat? oh wow... do you always do this whenever someone sees discrepancy or error in any of your statements? curse at them?

  • @AnonymousXCreator

I laughed really hard at that.

  • The guy narrating is supposed to be a normal person(gamer) observing and following snakes missions by what would have been released in the press i.e Snake leading a terrorrist group and taking over bigshell, it was actually Solidus but you were lead to beleive it was Snake which is what the media would have said,at the end the narrator says solid has one mission left and he will follow Solid to the end, therefore implying he has nothing to do with the story and is just following snakes 'career'

  • CORRECTION: Big Boss did mention to Solid he was the father in MetalGear2. Narrator mentioned Solid killed his father (Big Boss) without ever knowing.

In full details Solid mentioned to Naomi in MGS1

Naomi:Was Big Boss really your father?

    Snake: That's what he said...

    That's all I know.

Naomi: And you were able to kill him, knowing that?

    Snake: Yup.

    He wanted it.

Besides, some people just need killing...

    Naomi: That's patricide...!

  • @rocknflip66

Correction: Big Boss never said he was snakes father in metal gear 2 itself it was only said that he did in metal gear solid

  • @sedef122003 Correction: Big Boss didn't tell Snake about their relationship in Zanzibar Land.

Read The Snake Soup's myth article about it.

  • I hate the pronunciation of "patriot" this guy uses. I realize it's probably a colloquial thing, but even so....

  • * colloquialism

  • Didn't the Colonel say that only Snake knew about Big Boss being his father.

That would mean that the narrarator wouldn't have known that Snake found out

  • And one more thing people the narrator isnt saying anything wrong he is only saying what he "knows" how would he ever know if Big Boss said to Solid Snake that he was his father or not.

  • Hey all have you ever thought that Jonathan the guy with the scares in his face from Maryels sqaued maybe is the narratos because we have never heard him speak in any of the trailers unlese one of you guys can show me any trailer where he speaks but i doubt you can because ive seen all the trailers :P

  • hold up. the black guy is johnathan? or the white guy? i dont remember. but if its the black guy then yes, i have heard him talk in the trailer with liquid's private army in the begining, flipping down from a rooftop.

  • its the white guy

  • im actually really glad I have vol.1 of the MG saga and not 2 because this narrators voice is the most annoying thing known to man. He also states solid snake completed his first 2 missions w/o ever knowing big boss was his father when big boss told solid snake he was...and snake was already a hero to the world b4 shadow moses island and after shadow moses was a fugitive that became a part of philantropy leading into metal gear solid 2 which was like an organization on the run, for a small time

  • John Hurt would have been great as a narrator to this.

  • snake knew that big boss was his father. torture room scene:

naomi:Was Big Boss really your father?

snake: That's what he said... That's all I know.

naomi: And you were able to kill him, knowing that?

    snake: Yup. He wanted it.

Besides, some people just need killing...

    naomi: That's patricide...!

  • Snake completed the Zanzibar mission without knowing Big Boss was his father? That dosen't make any sense

  • MGS1 was in 2005?!?! I'm pretty damn sure it was 2010. MGS2 is in 2012 and 2014. MGS3 is in 1964. What gives? Are they changing reality?

  • TIME PARADOX!!!

  • lmao wtf ur totally wrong expect for mgs3

  • no. ur just an idiot. get ur times straight. MGS1 was in 2005. ur right about that. but MGS2's tanker chapter happened in 2007. MGS2's plant chapter happened in 2009. MGS3 ur right, happened in 1964. MGS4 is in 2014. get ur shit straight.

  • nahhh dude. cuz MGS4 happens in 2014 and i heard Naomi in the MGS4 trailer say 9 years ago at shadow moses, she injected foxdie into snake. therefor if u subtract 9 years from 2014, its 2005. MGS1 took place in 2005. MGS2 in 2007-2009. MGS4 2014

  • Sasuke is right..accroding to a guide i got here (provided when you get the Special Edition Stradegy Guide) Shadow moses occured in 2005..and MGS2 in 2007-2009

  • thank you

  • 09 actually lol mgs2 is prob my favorite but talk about getting pissed when *SPOILERS*

    Snake tried to kill himself!

  • I think solidus was cool especially when he fought all those rays

  • What of the four Snake do you prefer?

  • Naked Snake (Big Boss

  • Naked Snake is the best

  • lol Solid Snake was the hottest ^-^ but all are cool!

  • alright thanks for this

  • Thank you for uploading this, Im not going to open my disc now to see if it goes up in calue :)

  • They took liquids hand and attached it to Ocelot. His ideas then infiltrated Ocelate and he became Liquid Ocelot.

  • wait. so Liquid Ocelot right now has a mind of Liquid Snake Or Ocelot himself?

  • wait. so Liquid Ocelot right now has a mind of Liquid Snake Or Ocelot himself?

  • Both.

  • fishman2001, there are four "Snakes" in these game series: Naked Snake Liquid Snake Solid Snake Solidus Snake There might be more "Snakes" out there, but I'm not completely sure about that.

  • now we know that solid snake saluting big boss grave !

  • In my opinion PO didn't really explain BB's full transition from hero to mercenary leader. It forshadowed it, but I think the full story will be revealed in PO2, which is apparently in the making.

  • "in the making"? Who on Earth told you that?

  • IGN, but eh, I don't know if they're reliable. It did sell well, and Paton did say he wanted a sequel, so I'm not doubting one will eventually be officialy announced.

  • Why do you people rely so much on Ryan Payton? Why not just hear it from Hideo's honestly translated oppinion?

  • Thank you so much man.

  • whose voice is in the first part?

  • where's portable ops?

  • Up my ass.

  • Have you been living under a rock? Even without the consoles or paying the games they have said coutnless times at the other games that Big Boss was the leader of Outer Heaven. It's the most well known detail.

  • you can play metal gear and metal gear 2:solid snake on mgs3 subsistence

  • yes.

  • Just download the ROM files for the MSX and play through MG1 then download the MG2:SS ROM for the MSX goto mggold DOT zxq DOT net to get the files

  • i now solid snake is a clone but when he was cloned, was he born as a child or somewhere similar to the movie 'the island" to match the orginal persons age? if you know what i mean

  • yeah he and his clone brothers (liquid and Solidius) were born and raised as children. still they are only clones of the real snake NAKED SNAKE - BIG BOSS p.s SOLID SNAKE is the coolest

  • 1972

  • 1972

  • hmmmm, sounds like zero talking

  • Zero would be like 90 years old by MGS4, the guy doesn't have an old enough voice. It's a new character.

  • well it cant be him because he said he didnt know big boss because he only heard of him through a document.

  • no he's talking about solid snake, not Big Boss, anyways Kazuo is right zero would be super old

  • I know who he's talking about, lrn2read.

  • maybe u should take ur own advice cause you said he was talking about big boss, he's talking about solid snake....

  • nvm im an idiot

  • lol, at least your not ignorant. You> Most youtube community :D

  • stop using chanspeak

  • puto

  • Who is the narrator? Just another person looking to destroy Solid Snake?

  • THANKYOU!!!!!!!!

  • Old Snake is fucking awesome, he really is. With the 'tache and everything.

  • Snake is soo goddamn old

    no offence he really is

  • Yeah, but I think that the designers later "de-aged" him along the way. I remember that when the first trailer was unveiled, he looked to be in his early 60's. In some of the more recent trailers and publicity stills, he looks to be in his early to mid 50's.

  • not his fault, he is rapidly aging.

  • yeah 42 is so old

  • he actually 39... if you count from 1975(Les enfants project) to 2014

  • No, he is actually 42... if you count from 1972(Les Enfants project) to 2014.

  • Les enfants terribles project ...

  • Best narration I've ever heard.

  • Sweet!! Did you get the beta key along with the saga? ;)

  • The Metal Gear Solid series' equivalent of Resident Evil's Wesker Report.

  • Awesome! but Japanese version is better..

  • Props to KojiPro for releasing the same video that they did months ago in Japan!

    Ugh.

  • Oh, lighten up a little bit! At least we now know the English actor for this character!

  • Major Zero anyone?

  • I don't think so. I think this is a new character

  • Doubtful.

  • 100-120 years old?

plsu this guy only knew Big boss through a document

  • False, Snake fought Big Boss in Metal Gear 1 and 2 (the MG series). What snake didn't know at the time, was that Big Boss was his father through a cloning process, in which the project was named the "Les Enfant Terribles".

  • what? i was talking about Major Zero if you read who i replyed to.

  • Major zero knew Big Boss personally.

  • thats my point

  • this narrator sounds cool

  • I know. It really hope someone as talented as this is actually in MGS4.

  • Wow!

  • Cool, it's the first time we actually hear this new character's voice in English!

  • no mention of Metal Gear Portable Ops? weak!

  • Not weak. The Metal Gear Solid console series (MGS1-4) are the equivalent to a Hollywood blockbuster series that is carried in multiplexes. Portable Ops is more comparible to those second rate direct-to-video animated "sequels" that Disney releases in order to make a quick buck.

  • Wrong JStephen. MGPO actually explains some of the time gap between MGS3 and Metal Gear, and why Big Boss goes to the dark side. If you actually played the game and watched the story, you'd know that.
