  • why cant i stop replaying this???

  • What about the monkey box !?!?!?

  • I want that monkey now!

  • ...what? I don't get it, why would Erik want a giant mechanical gorilla to play the pipe organ? He'd want to be the only one to play the pipe organ, not a giant mechanical gorilla. And for that matter, why would Erik want to open a freak show on Coney Island and why would he think that would be a good idea to win Christine back? At the end of Leroux's novel, he claims he can die a happy man (& presumably dies alone) because of Christine's kiss, and sets her free so she can be happy so... why?

  • @LePhantomessa Because Webber's adaptations are nothing more than bastardizations of the original story

  • LOVED this part of the show! It was just SO.... AW!!!!

My favorite song next to Til I hear you sing, which is just Awsome!

  • The gorilla slapped 10 people round the face.

  • P.S The Gustav that was playing the role when I sow it was sooo little comparing to this one. That one looked like he was 5 years old. But I cant recall his name tho. And I also sow Andrew L. Weber passing by that night! That was awesome!

  • This is my fav song from the soundtrack and deff its my fav scene from the show!!! Plsss isnt there the whole footage from this clip? Only 18 secs? Its like giving us a candy then taking it back without even feeling the taste! This is soooo mean!!!!

  • Ooh, that's creepy! The one in Melbourne was way different!

  • That's funny! It's a GIANT MONKEY BOX!!!!

  • where did you get this clip from :)?

  • OMIGOD ERIK WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU ):

  • the australia love never dies is so much better

  • @MrMatticusFynchCH2 Agreed. You can tell just from the soundtrack, it's a lot more concise and the sets are UHmazing.

  • @Eruadhiel It's so good im going a second time x]

  • @AriaAdagio11 you just made me ROFL xDD

  • jeez how tall is that gustave!

  • @tarais18 this is the 15 (at this point in time) year old charlie manton. he told me he was 5'5 during the time he was in the production

  • Full Beauty Underneath scene (+ the phantom confronts Christine) if anyone is looking for it:

    /watch?v=_GxGrtl2qM4

  • This scene had the audience laughing when I saw it. Not sure that was the desired effect............

  • just got back from seeing it and... wow! Nothing like Phantom 1 - this has far much more depth and to be honest we follow Meg shed loads more than anyone would think! This is 3D writing at its best. We came away knowing so much more of the original characters than we could ever have learnt from Phantom 1! We travelled from North West UK to watch and the Adelphi theatre is the place to watch it! Special effects (garphics etc) amazing - the works! I'm going to bed humming the works!

  • @Answl82 Is Andrew Lloyd Webber paying you to say this?

  • It's not a gorilla. It's a skeleton in weird armor

  • could you please tell me where you get this clip from? i have been trying to watch the full thing FOREVER! <3

  • I like the monkey playing the barrel organ better

  • saw this last night original cast epic! Gorilla was the most amazing part though lol

  • @crazyboutladygaga He's 16 now but he was 15 in love never dies :)

  • charlie is the best gustave!! he's a friend of mine too, i was at his last show :(

  • @crazyboutladygaga That is charlie manton

  • Wouldn't it have been so funny if Gustave broke the monkey?

"Have you ever yearned to go pa-- What in the world happened to my monkey?!"

    "Mother please, I'm scared!" :P

  • this is epic. Do you have the whole song on video? I can't wait untill this comes to broadway. I'm definitally going to see it even if some of it is stupid.

  • Isn't this coming to the U.S. in February??

  • @phanofmusic626 It had better!

  • i saw this with the original cast and they were wicked best ever

  • Saw this last night and this was my favourite scene and song too.

  • I actually think that the gorilla is really creepy.. xD

  • Damn, that's one big step up from that tiny musical box.

  • I love this song!

  • I heard this was bad, had no idea HOW bad until now though.

  • The only shred of win that can be found in this musical.

  • OMG that made me laugh so much XD

  • ERIK GOT A NEW MONKEY!

  • @ItalianGirl903 or the monkey in the original play grew up!

  • @ItalianGirl903

no it's the old one... but grown up XD

  • I recently saw the show and it's no longer a gorilla, it's a has a skeleton face instead.

  • I want one lol Xx

  • Okay, that is so awesome! Erik's old Monkey Music Box grew up...yay! XD I cannot WAIT to see the show!

  • horrible song, but amazing effects

  • @MelloV32

    XDD I'll say!

  • I want a mechanical gorilla to follow me around playing the organ like that

  • In POTO Erik had the monkey on the music box, now he has a gorilla on the piano LOL

The music and the scenes of LND are great, but not the plot. =(

  • Comment removed

  • Is it kinda bad that my former band teacher has a gorilla looking thing basically just like this? It just has more silver and has claws. It really freaks me out.

  • @kendrarussell pretty much ._______. and it would scare me alot too.

  • I want one of those.

  • this is pure genius its in time with the guitar- impressive.

great musical and a great sequel

  • Where did this footage come from? It's obviously not a bootleg, and I'm curious to see the whole song.

  • P.S.- I want a Gorilla like that. :P

  • Lol, poor Erik's just trying to work, and Gustave is messing with his stuff. He's like "No kid, don't touch that!" He turns around, and two seconds later he's doing it again. xD

  • I don't get why everyone hates on this musical Guess what I LOVE POTO AND LOVE NEVER DIES le gasp

True Phans know Love Never Dies

  • Erik chose the monkey over Christine?!

  • @buildgod93 because its cool and epic

  • Serously, I think about Showbiz Pizza/Rockafire Explosion when I see the gorilla play the organ...

  • Wow.......

  • I SAW IT YESTERDAY AND IT IS NOT A GORILLA IT IS A SKELETON WIT A WIG

  • @MsOpera99 You don't have to get all pissy about it...

  • @simzproductionz who says i was pissy fuck face

  • @MsOpera99 Considering you have to scream and shout every time you want to make a point, you're being very pissy.

  • @simzproductionz oh just fuck off ignorant little bastard

  • @MsOpera99 Ah, so I see you are the type with a very short fuse :)

  • Okay so Erik upgraded from a monkey to a gorilla? For the sake of it I'll say that = a win too

  • After listening to the soundtrack, I'd imagined all kinds of awesome stuff happening on stage during this music!

This... was not what I had imagined. <_<

  • oh. my gosh.

  • Looks like the music box took some steroids.

  • @rachel869

I have no doubt that the longest running show on Broadway will be remembered as long as people remember musicals. Whether the sequel will be remembered as anything more than a foot note will be decided in the next couple of years.

  • Is it just me or is the phantom in this one more of a gerik model now?

  • @simzproductionz I agree and I think it betrays the original character who's late middle aged, grotesque, ptitiful and scrawny. Whoever plays him must have a good voice, like the stage Phantoms, not some rocker. With special effects, the de-masking should be shocking. It would be a wonderful challenge to any good actor/singer which elimates Mr. Butler.

  • @audiesgirl I know who will. The Phans who are disgraced with this whole thing, starting at phantom of manhattan.

  • @simzproductionz

    It's not just you.

He's not much like the Phantom of the Opera. They've tried to add some anger and a little mystery since the show opened, but he's still NOT the sometimes sinister, sometimes seductive, sometimes angrily violent, almost magical character that has fascinated people for almost 25 years. Fans of emo fanfic love him.

Who will remember this show in 25 years?

  • @Bric On the contrary, I think everyone will remember this show in 25 years. Whether or not the reviews were all good/bad, everyone will remember the longest running Broadway show and its attempt at a sequel.

Personally, I don't hate it. It's not great.. but I couldn't do any better so I can't complain.

But it will definitely be remembered. In my opinion, anyway.

  • I don't think that it was a Gorilla. But i could be wrong

  • That is just amazing. Saw this yesterday, it was fantastique

  • its not mechanical its two people in a costume. i was let back stage after the show because my father is a lawyer for the company and they showed my how the two fit into it. please change the name.

  • @RobTehHamster But it's supposed to be mechanical in the story.

  • what the heck?? some of what i've seen on here of this show just blows me away...but some of it just seems to ruin Phantom!!!

  • @dramagirlkenz17 How does it ruin Phantom? He's a genius! He's made a number of awesome mechanical wonders up in that tower. And we know that being the Phantom he can pick up most skills and master it better than any other! And this is just plain awesomeness.

  • The frilly shirt doesn' t work for me. I"m not sure what they're trying to convey here. I can't imagine the Phantom doing ruffles, no matter how nuts he is.

  • Oh God.. the more I see of this show the worse it seems..

  • This is my favorite song from the whole show i love ramin karimloo so much ahhhhhhhhhhh......... this show is increible though i have not scene it haha

  • why get on the floor and crawl closer then get back up..really gustave?

  • @phantomopera45 He's showing his lack of fear and curiosity for what's "underneath" the creepy contraption, suggesting to the Phantom they have in common a fascination for oddities and suggesting how much they are alike which later leads the Phantom to conclude he's his son. I don't like the erotic tone to the piece though.

  • @audiesgirl that true at first, but the song is about whats underneath the Phantom's Mask because at the end, he pulls off his mask, and Gustave screams..

  • Made of awesome!!!!!!!

  • All those negative, stupid comments here.. I went to Love Never Dies twice and i loved the beauty underneath .. one of my favorites song.

  • W...T...H???

  • Oh God...Leroux has got to be turning in his grave right now. Phantom of the Opera has one of the most beautiful and most powerful endings. Why disturb a masterpiece?

  • haha its like the monkey from the music box in the first one grew up and now plays the organ in the second lol

  • Man, Gustave's gonna enjoy having the coolest Dad in junior high!! He'll be the hit of the science fair.....

  • @audiesgirl LOL

  • @audiesgirl that would be an interesting teacher/parent meeting XD

  • @audiesgirl Yes...I can just see the TV spot for the sitcom now....."My Dad the Phantom!"

  • @audiesgirl and the theature program!

  • LOVE IT! At last they're having PHUN with the PHANTOM! The story walks a fine line between drama and comedy, is overdue for serious parody. I love the original and have seen/read all the film and book treatments and can't wait to see this. Rock on, Erik and the Monkey!

  • @buildgod93

Who cares? Its WIN in its purest form!

  • wtf is going on?

  • @buildgod93 I don't know but MAN do I want some of that shit. From what I know about this show there seemed to be a lot of that stuff going around.

  • The beauty underneath appears to run on energizer.

  • MONKEY OR CHRISTINE. WHICH WILL HE CHOOSE?! Oh, Erik. what have they done t oyou... ;)

  • @talistur "My King Koooong. My King Koooong. Smoked a bong....... smoked a bong."

  • I love the mindfuckedness of this moment.

  • Its not a gorilla it's a skeleton!!! Looks like one though!

  • yes gorilla!

  • well you might learn to understand the gorilla if you just stop and think they're in coney island an AMUSEMENT PARK .things are going to be a little strange

  • @LilttleMoney Yeah, and this is Erik we're talking about.

  • @FanStoryVideoStudios

so eric's a freak he would make freaky things

  • @LilttleMoney exactly my point! Erik's just Epic!

  • @FanStoryVideoStudios No we're talking about The Phantom. Erik is a name in the novel but not the musical.

  • love should've died, but the gorilla can live.

  • WIN!!! 8D

  • made of WIN indeed

  • Oh! Is that the song "Beauty Underneath!?" Please someone put the full song up there! ^^

  • @RosesNightengales Yeah, this is the intro.

  • OMFG. i've been looking for other footage, thanx

  • It's not a monkey, it's just supposed to be a skeleton.

  • omg what is that thing n..why is it needed? Does anyone know? :NN

  • It resembles a beethoven like figure which was given to Gustave earlier in the play. It's not a monkey and it was spectacular to see!

  • Well.. in one of the first songs (I believe slice of heaven) they talk about mechanic things.. I think this is one of those and is gonna be on the fair when it's finished (:

    I love it

  • WTF. O___O"

  • Is the Nairobi Trio about to become a quartet?

  • what. the. fuck.

  • This is nightmare fuel unleashed.

  • Oh wow. What the hell IS this?

  • @crysania4 I agree- it's the small monkey- but now it apparently grew up and is no longer a little music box- dare I say it... RIDICULOUS!

  • does anyone else notice the connection between the mechanical gorilla and the monkey?the monkey who sits on a barrel organ and instead of playing the cymbals he plays the organ?or is it just me.i think it is.

  • @brandoncurtis1 Yeah, exactly... only like, 20 times bigger and ten times more epic XD

  • YES! Footage I haven't seen! lol

  • This is my favourite scene! LND is realy beautiful musical!

  • @kbiljana if that's your favourite scene, when's your next trip to therapy :D

  • Wha'st a cheap stuff?! AWFUL!

  • Does anyone know where I can watch the repeat of The South Bank Show Revisited with Andrew Lloyd Webber????? I've looked everywhere and I can't find it. I even checked on ITV Player where they play the repeats of their TV programmes and it wasn't on there. I really want to watch it so if anyone can help me I'd greatly appreciate it :) Thanks.

  • OMG. Child abuse. Just look at how the Phantom goes to pull Gustave up from the floor. He really has no experience with children, does he?

  • @NiGHTSFangirl Well, he hasn't exactly been around kids a lot having lived under the opera House for so long, had he?

  • the problem i have with that Phantoms is that he's not mysterious, terrifying in any way.T_T

  • Do you have any footage of "THe Beauty Underneath" or something a little bit longer with Gustave and Erik together? I hate how there's not much of anything yet. :(

  • @buildgod93 - the gorilla was a type and shadow of the monkey on the music box in PotO. Now, he's made another music box- bigger, more spectacular- to fit with who he is- the creator of Phantasma. Personally, I loved the change to rock opera- all of the bizarre, etc, fit for Coney Island in that day...

  • What is that thing??? lol

  • Guys, this song is "The Beauty Underneath."

To be honest, my favourite song of them all. Can't wait until it hits Australia.

Fantastic mock of the Monkey with the Cymbals in the first stage play.

  • W....T.....FFFFFFFFFFFFF !??!!?

  • I was speaking to someone whos at the stage door and they said that it isnt a monkey

  • I saw the show the other night and the effects were Fantastic in my point of view. This scene was a great one, their was alot of effects awell as the piano thing going on. Its not a gorilla playing it.

  • @DWandTWFAN what is playing then? I'm not trying to come off as smart i just really want to know

  • @dannilee35 Its half of a Skeleton playing it

  • @DWandTWFAN - a skeletal gorilla? Very interesting....He saw himself as "the beast"- and the monkey music box resembled him in so many ways (in movie) - perhaps that this one was skeletal was to show he felt dead inside without Christine...hmmm... :)

  • @doomfeather 'The Heart is Slow to Learn' is still in Love Never Dies but the lyrics have been re-written and the song is now 'Love Never Dies' itself - it acts as the title track and appears in Act 2. 'Look with your heart' is a totally different song. It's a very good show. I saw it last week. You should check it out.

  • ...um im sorry but- WTF!? hahaha oh man i need to see this now. i mean ill admit the music grew on me fast, but this on the other hand..did not see coming.

  • WHAT WAS THAT!!!!????

    Webber has lost it!!!!

  • Where did you get this footage?! I'm so jealous!

  • i have now watched this multiple times and am really liking the fatherly concern one can ver y obviously see here... slight sarcasm intended... i LOVE this scene!!!

  • Will you post more of this?

  • Will you be posting any more videos from Love Never Dies?!?!?!

If you have any, PLEASE DO!!! :D

  • ALRIGHT, WTF

  • a litle weird but neat

  • Um.. oh my... I'm traumatized now.

  • O_O

    Ummm..........
