  • Truly heartbreaking.

  • weve pumped billions into these poor countries for decades....where did it all go? where are the schools, houses, roads, factories and shops ect...

  • To ottocyclemmm's comment. I agree. One of the first things they tell you when working with behavioral people is that a token system hardly ever works and can backfire on you, yet we live in a token based society (money). Yes it is crud and probably wont change till another system is devised. Regardless, if you have never seen this movie Baraka, it is awesome

  • Oh man, one of the best parts is cut at the end. The bhuto face close-up looking out in horror.

  • i like this

  • I want to hurt myself now, thanks dead can dance.

  • Lisa Gerrard is signing NON-RELIGIOUS songs

    No RELIGIOUS value whatsoever

  • @gkhadz

    huh???

  • Instead of typing a lengthy comment I think I'll just pause and weep a while for humanity and a truly messed up world...

  • @siologen yes

  • @siologen ...Wimp...haha just kidding

  • Awesome!

  • does anyone know what key this song is in?

  • Ironic... I noticed once that the young girl at 1:25 that smiles, is the only person in the whole film Baraka that does. Spending your days in a landfill, barely surviving and still able to smile.

  • Realidad, a donde vamos????

  • Our worlds system is built on people being self interested in order to make a life for them and those they value- family. Consumers have choices in what they buy, and they are only slaves to themselves. However, there are those in society who would wish to impose by force, certain principles which only benefit one particular group at the expense of the others.

Charity is the benevolence of others, not the theft from the deserving to those in need. Needs and wants are not rights- we must earn.

  • Poverty is moving and sad. If you feel bad then rightly so, but do not be racked with guilt. We are individuals and need to help ourselves too. We can never give ourselves entirely to others, and to do so is suicide- an evil of collectivism.

We can't give away all our food. Why is it immoral for us to feel satisfied but moral for others to feel the same. Maybe there are ways to give our left over food away, but its unfortunate that its just not sustainable.

  • que futuro podemos tener...

  • Welcome to earth. 6,000,000,000 and counting.

  • @Canuckboy123 No kidding. Fucking breeders.

  • A part from the film BARAKA... Music Dead can Dance... it's amazing... And film BARAKA is a beatiful art of movies

  • You have to be joking. Over 5000 views and only '30 Likes'?

It doesn't matter what style of music you like, this is pure art.

  • @Der0Nibelung Meh. Crappy video.

  • sad!

  • ……. Thank you, houmous2, for uploading this. I'd seen Dead Can Dance in '96 when they toured for their then new release, Spiritchaser. I had an out-of-body experience at one point during their concert, that's how magical an affect their music can have. Fact is, if I show THIS to people & they DON'T break down & cry at some point, I don't want to know them. Namasté ~ (•8-D

  • ‎> it so sad to see human lives in that way and we even don't think to do something to them > what is the reason for this Poverty and

Misery? >>who can we blame ... I belive that the greed is the major cause... we dont want any body to share the food with us ..we prefer throw it in the garbage than givin it to poor people ... and they have to eat it from that garbage... the world's system is made by selfish people and if you want to live in it , be slave to its rules ...

  • @AlienZygote010 now we know who is the only one who dislike the video

    my bro>>>> live is sharing

  • @ottocyclemmm - i didn't dislike the video. and i give over 10% of everything I make to charities. But the fact is that most do not give. Do not assume that those with many possessions do not give. Mostly, in my experience, those who are middle class who are obsessed with being rich give the least. I am a poor student, but I give what I am commanded to give by my God. For this, I believe this is why miraculously sometimes, I have everything I need even though I worry how I will make it.

  • @ottocyclemmm Hypocrisy, ignorance, greed. The usual.

  • @ottocyclemmm - Yes poverty is horrible, and as with every civilization, there will always be those who cannot seem to crawl out of it. More money than ever is given to these countries and it isn't the people that give, nor is it the people that need it, it is the governments that intercept the money and food, and keep it for themselves. Those are the opportunists.

In America though, you can be born into poverty, and can make something of yourself no matter what level of society you come from.

  • @Agfadoc Don't make me sick. If you want to believe the crap your government has forced fed you since its creation, then go ahead but don't preach about the 'American Dream'. Your government doesn't even offer health care to it's citizens and is guilty of many more crimes against the poor.

  • @BambooSteamer Here is a fine example of rhetoric driven ideology.. I have the best healthcare the world, I pay less in taxes and can CHOOSE where and when I can go..Unlike you, I have traveled the world, and can compare my choices.. Your ill informed diatribe is old, and naive... I have built my life up from poverty, unlike in these other countries where regulations and taxation keeps people down, I don't have to belong to royalty and I can get out of life what I put into it. Can you?

  • @Agfadoc Here is a fine example of jumping to conclusions. I too have traveled the world AND I have seen what 'the best' in healthcare America provides and it's sickening. Your argument is as flawed as all american arguments are. I pay my taxes and in return I am given healthcare, which is a basic right of everyone on this planet. As always your ill-informed, pro-america viewpoint makes you think a healthcare system is communist. I too can CHOOSE where and when i get care. Get your facts.

  • @BambooSteamer I have my facts.. How about going back a few years when your people tried to enslave mine.. You can't have it both ways.. YOU are the oppressor pal, not me.

  • @BambooSteamer Your system is collapsing and Austerity is heading your way buddy... and we do not plan on following you down that rabbit hole. Have fun with it... How many live in England? Hmmm.. America... Hmmm.. a bit a different ratio, do I smell envy?

  • @Agfadoc You really are deluded. What the hell has population got to do with it? and what makes you think I'm English? The UK is made up of 4 different countries. You delude yourselves that America is how we all want to be, well it's not. Live with it. As for our 'oppressive' NHS, you need to do your research., not listen to your corporate sponsors. Oh and we didn't enslave you......your country was a colony, you came from here.....that's not slavery

  • @BambooSteamer lol nice read. we are not all that daft. thanks for keeping a bit of intelligence in this ramble. Some people here in America choose not to believe we are headed the way of the third world country. Not saying living in the streets, but the lack of middle class. 70% of what we have or get is from China, over38% of our jobs are now outsourced to other countries. We are getting fat, lazy and saying we are the best. Riding a wave that has long since passed us by. past time to wake up.

  • You can't choose.. Your choice is this government rationed caregiver or that government rationed care giver.. You are a slave to the system pal, and don't come a crying when it all falls down on you.

  • @BambooSteamer Furthermore, I have not committed one crime against the poor. Because you don't know your history, we are one of a few countries that rebuilds after war and doesn't take people's land. If we were everything you think we are, then you would be an American too. I don't like my government much more than anyone else, but the people of America have sacrificed their lives so that others can spew their ridiculous rhetoric online and not fear that they will be persecuted for it..

  • @Agfadoc Are you serious!? "we are one of a few countries that rebuilds after war and doesn't take people's land" Bullshit! your war in Afghanistan and Iraq is based on oil and I'm ashamed the UK is a part of it. As always spouting your 'all american' bull. Your country has one of the worst records of rights against Black people, gays and women. Remember it was the UK that put an end to slavery.

  • @BambooSteamer Whatever.. You are a complete waste of my time. Have fun and good luck! Your people wouldn't free us.. Remember? What track record do you have again?

  • What OIL? We are getting shite from Iraq.. You have no idea what you are talking about.

  • @BambooSteamer If it weren't for people like me, the next marauder would be enslaving you, your gratitude for us taking the stand when nobody else will, giving people freedom to choose, and allowing dissenting opinion and lifestyles would be appreciated unless you are against freedom of speech, women's rights, gay rights, and fighting for equality.. Are you one of those who wishes for Sharia Law?

  • @Agfadoc And furthermore anyone who speaks out against your country is now looking for Sharia law. About 20 years ago you would have been accusing me of wanting 'communist law'. Hiding behind the mask of 'freedom' is a poor way to live, accusing anyone who speaks out in your flaws as 'wanting Sharia Law' as a way of chaning the subject. Why don't we start a witch hunt? Isn't that what you guys do best? Maybe another McCarthy Trial?

  • @BambooSteamer Hahahaha... Is that all you have? You do hate freedom, you want socialism, which enslaves its population. You have no idea what you wish for.. Take care!

  • EXTREMELY moving..my heart breaks when I see this suffering. I can never do enough to help people. Their suffering is terrible.

  • thats why i hate people that waste food look at these people who dont get food

  • tan solo oir esta cancion...me salen lagrimas...lo relaciono con todo lo que pasa hoy en dia y pues no me da pena la gente...me rompe el corazon los animales ahogados en petroleo, la naturaleza....la muerte negra...

  • To the ladies that cannot sleep at night, to the families that cannot provide food...

  • la belleza es la mezcla entre lo hermoso y lo terrible

  • liberty: civil liberties, right: human rights wherein!!

vulture. From us to you present ...

  • Baraka (1992) is a Todd-AO (70 mm) non-narrative film directed by Ron Fricke.

The film is often compared to Koyaanisqatsi, the first of the Qatsi films by Godfrey Reggio of which Fricke was cinematographer. Baraka's subject matter has some similarities—including footage of various landscapes, churches, ruins, religious ceremonies, and cities thrumming with life, filmed using time-lapse photography in order to capture the great pulse of humanity as it flocks and swarms in daily activity

  • what r about this??? it's a fragment of "BARAKA", isn't it????

i didn't know about it where was coming the song.... THANKS.

  • @clementinas

Yes this is a fragment of the movie Baraka
