i just discovered Wayne Hancock on a compilation CD. I had jumped to the conclusion that it was old 50's music and that the band would be long gone, like most bands I like are.

How cool is it that they are a contemporary act and activliy touring? I haven't seen a band featuring a full-time slide player ever (live). It seems Swing Music is making a popular comeback. I hope so. Alt-country is very popular now so its not to much of a stretch for those fans to get into western swing. Hope so.

beautiful steel, indeed. I love the way Tony plays! They came throught Saint Louis a few weeks ago and their show was about 2 1/2 hours long. Well worth the $10 cover.
