I just bought Bird Song and all I can say is that it's really a shame that people like Heather Masse and Ruth Moody are playing tiny cafes while the likes of Lady Gaga, P!nk and Ke$ha are multi-platinum. While I like the fact that I can see them in small intimate venues, still, more people need to get turned onto this music. And this IS real music -- unlike a lot of so-called music out there today.
@JustAFocus I don't think so...it makes it much more intimate and enjoyable...I'd rather that she sold more albums than book huge venues. More for us real music people.
@Koaslice191 Well, increased exposure and record sales leads to more demand for the live shows which leads to larger venues. The point was that more people need to hear and appreciate this music and move away from the junk that I mentioned, but of course at the same time I enjoy the fact that since they're not enormously popular, I get to see them in small intimate venues.
We just heard her sing on A Prairie Home Companion and wow. Our introduction to the voice and I said to my wife "what a voice this woman has." The song was about the desire to have someone to love , to spend the night with. I never got the title, but it was so moving that here I am up on the computer looking Heather Masse up. Wow, what a voice.
beautiful.

Heather you and your band are legendary. I am so glad whatever it was that made you decide to start singing...
