  • AND THEN ???????????

  • I love it

    I have the them

    jimstar.sportblog.fr/885493/VELO-MOTEUR-Velo-a-moteur-thermique/

  • haha 0:40 the "off and off switch"

  • ive seen a video where someone took a 160cc motor and installed it on their bike. is this possible to do with this bike kit?

  • @eltotoloco69 good luck fitting it in the frame

  • Hi! I have a question. Could You tell me how many inches ( or cm ) is between clutch and shifter ( distance)? Is clutch very hard or such as in other 50 cc moped?

  • The bike was stolen so I obviously can't measure distance anymore. The clutch was very easy to operate. Before this bike I had never been on a moped or motorcycle. With in a couple times riding it, I got it down very easily

  • I own three electric bikes here in vancouver canada that has cost me thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars from local electric bike companys and they are all crap. I bought a 66cc gas motor from zoom bikes for 130 dollars and ill never ride my electric shit ever again. Now i have to find some suckers to buy my electric junk at a great lost of money. I have ez electric bike and bionx bike and a crystalite kit with the super expensive batterys. Where were these gas motors before.

  • I've actually been thinking of getting and electric bike. Having a gas bike in LA attracts attention and you have to store it outside. That's what lead to the reason of mine getting stolen. If I had a electric I would likely keep it in the apartment.

These gas motors of this type have been out for a while. As you can see i put this video up about 3 years ago. People only started noticing them once gas prices got high.

  • @459am

when gas goes up past $5 / five dollars these home made motorized bicycles kits will be very popular. im thinking about building and selling them for the less mechanically inclined of us..

  • @459am i would hold on to one of them if i were you, afterall the gas prices are increasing

  • Its on there with clamps

  • can any one tell me the name of any bicycle company who made mountain bikes

  • Comment removed

  • so.. did you ever get it back?

  • Nope never a peep.

  • hey man so i got the same motor and i cant get the small sprocket to turn to get the chain on, how did u get urs to turn?

  • i didnt build this bike so I dont know.

  • @LUVHERB247 pull the clutch in and it should let the sprocket on the motor spin freely, but you probably got it by now

  • @LUVHERB247 try removeing ur sparkplug b4 turning the sprocket to roll the chain on

  • IVE JUMPED THE CURB MYSELF WHEN I HAD THE KIT ON A MOUNTAIN BIKE NOW ITS ON A 70 VINTAGE SCHWINN AND FOR EASY RIDING ONLY THAT MEANS NO JUMPING and the muffler is low to the ground also so they are dangerous . it is the most fun ive ever had out of bed and this got me somewhere.,. buy one 60 cc 193.22 in florida cops dont bother me

  • have you ever taken it off of any sweet jumps?

  • These bikes arent really meant for jumps. They are more or less to just putt putt around town. Quick story on this bike going air borne once. I had my car in the shop and was taking it to work. I was on the side walk going around a bend near where the Clippers practice. A guy came on a bike head on the other way. I turned and jumped the curb on the street. Got a little air but it was scary. My suggestion would NOT be to try to do that on purpose.

  • @only1soe yeah this was in reference to a movie but yeah i could imagine the hard landings with no susupension

  • @only1soe i think the jump comment mite have been a joking reference to napolean dynamite, but i could be wrong :)

  • @only1soe sir i saw on youtube a system that a person can shift gear with rear derailer i want to know what is the front gear set or system is used in that setup because when engine provide power to the rear wheel with same gear that a person used for pedaling how come pedal become free i am confused regarding this hope you can help me i will be very thankful

  • on this bike one of the breaks was for the front tire and one was for the clutch. to break the back tire you push back on the pedals like any bicycle

  • This bike was stolen out of my apartment complex in Playa Del Rey, CA on 11-8-10. If you see this bike or someone tries to sell it to you please contact me. I am giving a reward to anyone who finds it. I loved this thing! It makes me sick to see someone steal it.

  • also called motorbike

  • where did u get the speedometer

  • @boygofastboys you can get a speedometer from any bike store or place that sells bikes

  • hey if the front brake is on the handle bar wheres the back brake!!

  • @italkfan Coaster brake

  • hey, that is an 80cc bike engine from zoom

bicycles.com right? i have the same model of engine. i want to get a chrome exhaust where'd you get that

  • @883gilmour you can have mine, I got an expansion chamber from sick bike parts and have no use for it :P

  • @jacktheripped Hey, sorry i can't buy yours because i just got my expansion chamber from zoom bicycles. I hope to get the shifter kit, centifugal and pull start as well. I also have a dual pull lever. Just so you kn ow it is a very good idea to run a headlight off the extra 6 volts from you engine with the tail light. I replaced the bulbs with led's and the lights are brighter than my mom's ford taurus. just some suggestions. thanks for the reply, and good luck with the bike.

    Daniel Spence

  • @883gilmour my magneeto or alt will not supply enough juice to the light. so i have a small battery.one reason motor starts much easier less pedaling 2 light is brighter those cheap dollar chineese junk brake lights go out and will cause u to get a 80.00 ticket or killed more juice fire to the plug

  • Hey only 1... Question. I was riding my 48cc grubee driven mountain bike and all of a sudden it seems the clutch disengauged all by it's self. I checked the clutch and it looks fine. Pin and ball bearing are still there. I think the motor and clutch are no longer attached. Before I rip this engine apart, any insight for me? Do you have a diagram of the engine...I search the internet and can't find on. Also I checked gasbike.com and no diagram there either....grrrr!

  • @Kingmoose89 your clutch pin is worn out you need to replace it

  • @Kingmoose89 or you have to adjust your clutch. there's a star nut held by a screw, take the screw out and turn the star nut clockwise 1 notch and put the screw back in and see if that helps.

  • great job man, did good. not to be negitive about the engine kits but my motor has been on 3 different bikes now, my rear rims keep busting spokes and the mounting srews for the gas tank broke off. but none of my bikes were cruiser bikes eather so im not sure if it makes a difference???

  • did you imported the idea from middle europe? it looks like an old mopped...

  • These bikes seems to gain popularity 2 years ago. As you can see this simple video exploded with views. When I got this a few years back it was a head turner. No one had ever seen this sort of thing. I've since then have seen a bunch of people in LA riding them. This engine actually comes from China. The company that sells them is Thats Dax. There is a site with board called Motored Bikes or something. Went to it a few years back.

  • @only1soe then call it " Velotöffli"

  • i likeit very nice

  • I posted a new video of me riding the bike. You can check it out on my youtube channel.

  • Hey Boy I saw your Pipe and I have to say its a BRAKE. Built a new on your own with a big "Resonanzbubble". You have to think its a two Stroke.

  • are those bikes reliable? i was thinkin of gettin a 4 stroke from gasbikes . net.

  • Yes. Someone made mine. I have never had any major problem. Did replace the tire in the back tire and spark plug. At first I did not now how to keep the engine idling. The tork of the engine turning on over and over eventually popped the tire and wore out the spark plug. Since I have learned I have NEVER had a problem since and I have had this bike going on 2 years.

  • I shot some new footage of me riding this bike. I will be editing it together soon.

  • Can you show how the wheel is connected to the motor?

  • As the video starts you can see the full view of the bike. The Engine chain is facing the camera. The pedal chain is on the opposite side. The engine pulls the engine chain and that is what the gets the back tire to move.

  • damn, i really want to make something like this. but am new at this, can you mount it on any sort of bike?

  • Yes you can mount it on any bike but I suggest cruiser style bikes as they are stronger. These are putt putt around bikes for fun. You dont want to go too fast or have the bike fall apart on you while you are moving.

  • its so much cooler and last longer if u make it your self some off those its a overpriced and come with shit quality

  • If you are good with putting things together it would be a fun project.

  • totally agree. My back tire has special Thick spokes for safety. People putting these engines on a thin 10 speed is not wise either.

  • hi.. is this waterproof engine? is it easy maintenance? how about the fume of gas? and noise as well.. as i want to convert my electric bike to petrol.. and how far the half galon last? thanks very much

  • Don't know if the engine is water proof. I do live a quarter mile from the beach. The bike is kept on my porch and covered with a blanket and tarp. No problems yet with rain out here in LA but never rode it in a down pour. If you are riding directly behind the bike you will smell the exhaust. The bike is not very loud. Much less than a weed whacker but there is noise.. I hear 150mph but never fully tested it. Gas engines are much stronger on hills and long distances than electric.

  • thanks very much.. i will try to sell my electric and convert to petrol.. as i am fed up carrying the battery although its lithium ion.. but still heavy... and easily run out of battery..

  • @xmodelo I know, the half galon last you aprox 150 km or in miles like 93 miles.

Really easy to maintain because these are 2 stroke engines, you only need to worry about making the CORRECT mixture of Gas and Oil. Remember always to put the correct proportion of gas/oil because a lower quantity of oil in the tank makes contact with the piston and the border of the cylinder and could lead to a cool stop of the engine and damage it. I will buy one here in Colombia and they are exelent

  • where is the back brake?

  • The back break is the same as on most cruiser style bikes. You push the peddles backwards.

  • How do you shift it?

  • There is no shift. To peddle it like a regular bike you hold the clutch in while engine is on. Slowly release the clutch and give it a little gas and the engine takes over. you can also peddle assist while the engine is on to save gas especially going up hills. I weigh about 185 and pushing the gas all the way up on a flat surface will only take me over 20mph.

  • LOL @ lILvIET ...FUCK brake

  • How did you get your speedometer to work properly mine is missed up up when the engine is running.

  • Speedometer is pretty easy to set up. There are two sensors. One that runs to the speedometer and one that is placed on the spokes. They need to be lined up correctly on the tire so when the sensor on the tire passes the one that goes to the speedometer it gives some friction and how fas you are going. You can do this in your two hands to try it to even see if your speedometer is working correctly before putting it on the bike.

  • I fixed that problem I just got a better speedometer there was to much interference from the sparkplug I also switch shield sparkplug works wonders.

  • haha he said on and off switch for the spark plug. this guy needs to b corrrected.

  • LOL "this is the FUCK!! brake"

  • Hey i was just wondering what size bike you need for this because I'm looking at them and it seems like a lot of bikes would have to odd a shape to fit the motor

  • my bung hole is called cornarlio

  • Well done. this is cool!

  • how hard does your clutch work

  • i thort you would run it on petrol not gas!

  • is the kit easy to apply to the bike?

  • if you work through it you can get it done in about 4 hrs

  • as long as everything fits right took me about a two weeks but i didn't have any instructions and my frame was to big and the sprocket wouldn't fit so there is alot of thins that have to be perfect for it to be easy but i can see how if u know wat your doing and everything fits then yes u probably can get it done in 4 hours

  • thats absolute bull, between all the instillation and fine tuning it takes about a week. You also have to have a bit of mechanical background. However, it is all worth it! Very fun to ride

  • thank you listen to this guy...it takes absolutly a week to get it running right and you cant be a dumbass installing the carb

  • as easy as your mom

  • so it's hard to do then?

  • I live in LA also. I'm putting an engine on my bike this weekend. I'm a little scared the engine is going to draw unusual attention and up the chances of it getting stolen. I have two pretty hard-core locks on it so I'm hoping that's enough. Nice vid~

  • I can believe that these little bikes can have that many miles on them. So far I have had mine a year and its only needed minor fix ups and honestly the reason it needed to be fixed is cause I didnt know how to work it properly at first.

I have read that California does require a license but I have never had a problem or anyone question me on the bike.

  • i got mine for 200 bucks and its been loyal for 7000km so far. mines 80cc and wow man no insurance no license its the best!! i mounted it on a boulder giant

  • It does not have a key. Whenever I go some where and stay for a while I bring a heavy duty bike lock and chain. If a person walked up to it that had never riden a bike like this chances are they wouldnt know how to start it any way. To start the person would have to know to turn on spark plug, let gas lever to go get a gas flow, put in choke mode and then know how to work the brake style clutch.

  • Comment removed

  • well, having one myself i shain the frame with one lock and the engine with another. because although i installed a key on mine (check my vids) you could still unbolt the motor, cut the locks and just put it over your sholder and run away... so i took all the precautions i could.

  • I live out here in LA and have left it parked and locked for many hours and no one has ever touched it to this point. I think the likely hood of someone unbolting it is very low. Most people are like, "what the hell is that thing?"

  • were did you get the exhaust pipe for it?

  • go to ebay or thatsdax*com

  • need help the sprocket on the motor does not rotate when i screw on the spark plug and its hard to peddle start it.

  • This is very popular in foreign countries from Asian to Europe. How much is it?

  • The bike kits are usually around 300 bucks. But you can find them already made for under 600 usually.

  • how about u ride it instead of sitting there and talking

  • The guy who designed this bike is about to sell a new one he just completed. If anyone is interested contact me.

  • how much did u pay?

  • That little spring on the clutch line to the arm. it that importand?

  • I think it makes shifting smoother, smoother when you release the handle and smoother when the engine engages the chain.

  • oh yes, i see now

    thanks

  • I am not sure the specifc kinda. I think I got it online through Circuit City. I can check it out. I had one of those from Wal Mart and it never worked at all. It came in the Schwinn back of a kinds of bike stuff. There doesnt seem to be much vibration on the front tire so just try readjusting it towards the center of the tire and you should be ok

  • Just a question about ur speedometer, wat kind do u have, i bought a digital one from walmart but all the vibrations from the engine screws up the readings. have u ever had that problem?

  • I have one, and I'm telling you people not to buy them because they vibrate like crazy and its not worth the money. Me being 14 years old I thought it would be a fun project. Yea I admit, it was fun to put together but not worth it for transportation purposes! Sorry for the bad news!! :(

  • Cant say I totally agree. These bikes are meant to go around 17-20mph crusing speed. Sure you can get them above 25mph but if thats the case just get a motorcycle or moped. I really dont have a vibration that bad on this bike. Its something thats a good project and fun to have which is why so many people visit this simple little video I put up

  • great!!

  • is it for sale?

  • This bike is not for sale although the guy who made mine is making more. Contact me and I can put you in touch with him or give you more info. I am just a dude who bought one

  • I can sell you one better than that one.

  • clean bike!

  • What kind of fuck would be seen driving a bike with a motor on it. I bet you use it to touch small kids!

  • a comment from the moron council...

  • my bung hole is called cornarlio !

  • question... would a kit like this work on a bicycle with gears? - i just can't imagine biking any distance without choosing the gear i'm riding in.

I was thinking of getting a cheap geared bike and attaching a similar motor to the front wheel.

    Suggestions? Answers?

    thanks

  • Yes you can put the engine onto any bike. However I noticed that I dont use the regular bike mode too often. The engine chain is one one side of the bike and the pedel chain is on the other so it doesnt matter if you have gears or not. You can also pedal assist while the engine is going to save on gas or to help the engine in a lower throddle situation. For safety reason I would choose a strong framed bike. I have never heard or seen a bike have a front wheel motor. Doesnt seem safe to me.

  • most engine kits come with a sprocket made just for the engine you can put the engine on almost anybike but without suspension in the back and i think 18 inch clearance for the engine im not positive on the dimentions. The bike can ride like any other bike until you turn on the engine switch and then the engine will start and the chain will just turn the back wheel, pretty simple-hope that answers your question

  • did you buy this kit off ebay or off of a website because im looking to get one ebay but im not sure if there good quality

  • Front brakes only? Yikes

  • if you push the pedals backwards it stops the bike tire just like any regular bicycle.

  • you here of spooky tooth cycles?

  • Can you show a ride demonstration please?Would be kool to see it.

  • I have one shot actually but I have yet to get it cut together. I will try to get one up soon.

  • wats the mpg on this bike?

  • Where did you buy this kit? Are you happy with it?
