  • Oh my god, I love that paper sound.

  • This is one "stimulating" video. =p

  • This video went viral on Vilnius

  • The veins poppin' out of your hands aint so hand model-ish... XPXPXP

  • @ashleytisdalesilver7 I guess you didn't watch this video to learn to fold the rose. And your comment's purpose? To discourage me from teaching origami?

  • @Marigami I knew how to make the rose before watching your video... ;)

  • my mind is not made for stuff like this ....

  • HEY ALL! TRY THIS WITH THE MUSIC HERE!

FOR YOU TO HAVE AN ENERGY!

    /watch?v=rog8ou-ZepE&ob=av2e

  • OMG you made that twist part seem less difficult!!! Good job, now to actually try folding the rose. @_@

  • The "twist" part really confused me and it ended up ruining my attempt. Maybe you could explain the mechanics of it a little?

  • @bobjones123 In a few weeks I'll post a new version of this video which will hopefully be clearer :-)

  • @Marigami The sooner you could post the new video the better. I'm trying to make one of these for my Wife's first Anniversary present.

  • @bobjones123 What you're really doing is folding down the four fold, the lines connected to the triangles almost push and turn the square in the middle

  • @bobjones123 there's a shortcut to do it too!!! :)

  • @bobjones123 there's a shortcut to do it too!!! :)

  • @bobjones123 Please look at the new version of this video - follow link above or go to my channel page.

  • isn't this called fukuyama rose?

  • @Moorich The Fukuyama Rose is very similiar since it was a slight modification of this first Kawasaki rose by the Fukuyama School students for their "Roses for Peace" project. It mostly looks different when viewed from underneath. Both roses are diagrammed in Toshikazu Kawasaki's "Origami Dream World" (the 1st book, not the sequel). This 1st Kawasaki Rose's diagram can also be found in "Origami for the Connoisseur" but I believe it's out of print.

  • I shall waste another piece of origami paper! -determined face-

  • So hard... Did it but the kawasiki twist came out wrong

  • I can't believe I've gotten this far XD Thanks~! So far the best kawasaki tutorial.. if you hadn't paused before some steps and drawn the lines it would have been impossible for me to see .

  • תודה :d

    thank you :p

  • Is there going to be a diagram for the rose?

  • @georgetroulis Kawasaki has published a diagram for it in the book "Roses, Origami & Math"

  • This is actually intermediate. Not advance/Complex.

  • @Unrealguest It depends on how "Advanced" the intermediate level is. This is hard for some intermediate levels to do.

  • did u speed this up? cause i was only on the beginning step when this video ended. XD

  • This is the only rose origami tutorial that I have succeeded in doing that square fold in the middle, at the end of the video. :) Thank you very much!

  • Its very time consuming

  • last time I tried making one of these I utterly failed at the twisting part :( I'm gonna try again though!

  • The flower I have made is incredibly misshapen because I can't define the center square correctly.I don't know what I did or if there is a better way to define it, I would love to know.Great tutorial by the way.

  • You know, you are one of the few people on YouTube that don't say "Rate, Comment and Subscribe".That's a reason for me to do it!

  • Omg i did it good!! and its my first one ever!!!.. just 1 little q, its funny shaped my flower, u dont really show how u move the petals son it seems like it transforms by it self.. could please tel me if u pull them or what?.. REALLY GOOD!!!

  • Im sorry to say this, but this tutorial goes way too fast and i keep pausing it . After a while i just give up. i wish one of my friends could do this and then show me, but i still have to give this video credit because its a great tutorial.

  • @CherryBrain17 I know. It really ticks me off that the ONE freaking piece of origami that I can't fold has the worst tutorials on youtube. No one folds it the same way, or even close. The last video had a template for it... and everyone uses highspeed. How the... ugh. I've taught people origami for years, this is NOT a good way to do it. But on the plust side at least they're trying! Most people wouldn't even do that.

  • this video helped me so much! i did like 7 now.. im doing 60 :)

  • @solperez13 Thank you! And I think you sing * beautifully * !

  • @Marigami thank you so much for watching my video :)

  • lol when i was trying to do the trist i was like "hmmm now how the heck is this thing gonna.... WOA OMG IT TWISTED!!!!"

  • Cool!

  • what size of paper are you using, nice video

    love it

  • @Ravanaboy I usually use 6 inch paper, but 10 inch paper makes nice big ones.

  • thank u very much ... i watch other videos about how to make this origami ... the twist was impossible for me until now tnks, u helped me a lot!

  • what size paper is ideal for making the roses?

  • @4life4life I usually use 6 inch paper.

  • @NosoLolly i folded 152

  • hot damn crapazoid I did it!!

  • ahh I was so close, but I did not make it because I messed up my center square. But this was the first time I ever did origami. This is a good video, thank you.

  • the magic ball is easyer

  • (: i made this long ago, i tried it yesterday and i forgott how to make it. . . it is not very difficult n_n Thank You!

  • wooo! did the kawasaki twist thing on the first go xD. thank you so much for uploading this, a lot of the other video's aren't very clear and some don't even do the precreasing. but you are my saviour :P

  • I DID :D:D:D:D

  • its good but speeding up some of the parts screwed me up i continuously paused nd rewinded but then i jus gave up it was too hard to follow =(

  • ...no. just no .-. much harder than i thot it'd be

  • the Kawaski rose is a hard one to do....this ones my favorite. so hard to do though.

  • Part #1 done!

  • This is very possible, you have to watchingit carefully, it took me 3 attempts but now I can make them very well. Use a square of printer paper, it is not as fragile when learning.

  • impossable to make!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MasterExploderish Then you cannot call yourself "Master"! ;-) Keep trying...

  • @MasterExploderish possible!

  • @MasterExploderish can you make the Origami Spring Into Action? because I think this is easier

  • thank you

this is really good and has helpedme heaps!

  • what other types of origami roses are there? my trying to learn as many different origami flowers as i can.

  • @twilightfan1684 There are sooo many rose variations. To see some, do a google/bing search for "Origami Resource Center" and you'll see a picture link for roses and flowers.

  • Is there a diagram for this step by step precrease?? I've seen other precrease methods, but this one is really good!! =D

  • @Sylphadora I don't think so. The diagram been published in several places but I had a little trouble following the diagram. Then someone at a convention showed me how to fold it this way and it was just great! I only have my messy pencil sketch of the pre-creasing he taught me.

  • @Marigami I know what you mean!! I could only find the diagram by Wenson Chu, and I don't make it past step 13... Besides, that grid takes forever to fold!! I just can't believe how some people came up with a different precreasing for the same model... Some time ago I learnt to fold the rose watching a tutorial by a user called AdamsSara. It was a bit different from your method but the results was just the same. But I forgot how it was and I have to relearn it how =(

  • @Sylphadora there is one but its harder to follow then just watching this video.

..trouble free if you get what i mean!

  • @heartshapedkisses I just found the diagram for this exact folding method the other day. It's in Kunihiko Kasahara's Origami for the Connoisseur. But you're right. There's nothing like watching it live!! =D That's how I learnt to fold this model, anyway...

  • where can i get good origami paper like yours because all i do is cut A4 paper into a square which is always uneven. BTW your origami is the best i am trying to make the yoda to impress people so comment back thanks. :)

  • @mattguy21 I buy origami paper at Michaels and AC Moore craft stores. They have store coupons so I stock up whenever I get one.

Good luck with Jedi Master Yoda!

  • even if you just started origami this video is so good and the little dotted-line diagrams so useful anyone can do it, also theres a pause button people use it!

  • you know that this is one of the harder/more difficult ways to do to twist right?

  • I've probably watched this video at least 50 times just for the sound alone. Very relaxing...

  • Hey! I can't do it at the same time as you if you do it in time lapse :3

  • Cute...

  • Out all the videos i looked at, this one made sense and its not impossible but it take alot, alot of time

  • I totally agree! This video helped me a bunch!!!

  • kawasaki rose got two version one is old and one is new.

  • iznt kawasaki's rose the one where the base is diagonals and stuff?

  • Thanks...!!! >D

  • IT WORKS!!!! IT WORKS!!!!! I've tried it a million time following other directions but this actually works!!!!! YAY!!!!!

  • can you put it slower a bit..

because i can't watch it very well... thx you

  • WTF!! IT'S WORKING MAN, IT'S WORKING!!! -Well so far. Hopefully will still work at part 2.

  • thanks for this i was lost in my last vid but now i got it right

  • oh my gosh, thanks soo much :)

  • dude u gotta slow down i'm just a starter

  • well then why you tryin this? this is an advanced level origami thing

  • @Ada8910 you should try pausing it it makes it easier

  • u are lucky that u have good origami paper, i have shit paper and no shops that sell good paper

  • i can make this for my mom her birthday is coming up

  • What type of paper is best?

Is it good with A4 ? Awesome turorial though

  • Copy paper or any origami paper works well.

  • lol same here. somewhere along the way i became obsessed with the origami too haha

  • I love the sound of paper :)

  • @allofmeistaken I love the sound of paper speeded up ^-^

  • Fucking amazing vid man. Thanks so much, my sweetheart will love it.=]

  • I never had any success in other tutorials with the twist but this was was very well done

thank you very much and ya the twist is pretty fun :D

  • great..i do it and its mi first fllower jjaaj jajaja and more jajajaj

  • This is my first time trying out to fold the kawasaki rose base on this video (others don't work out for me) and I think this tutortial is really good! :D

  • do u hav to use oragami paper cuase i dont hav any please reply bak!!!!!! great tutorial though

  • no, all you need is a squre sheet of paper.

  • no you dont :D

when i first made mine - i actually used construction paper - printer paper works well :D and umm if you want color then u can use magazine paper

  • You don't have to fold with origami paper, many masters even use regular print paper. However, origami paper is very helpful because it is both very thin, making it easy to fold, and pretty tough, making it more resistant to tearing. Plus, there are some great colors and patterns to choose from without having to make or print them yourself.

  • its so fun doing the twist part ^^

  • still trying to learn the dang thing....

  • tried with blank paper not so good now trying with colored on one side still trying to learn

  • Seu vídeo é simplesmemte maravilhoso!

Aprendi com muita facilidade, seguindo suas instruções. Obrigada, de coração!!!

  • This is absolutely the greatest video for folding an oragami rose that I have seen I looked everywhere and couldn't make one... using your video I made one on the first try and am working on memorizing all the steps ... please continue to add as many origami videos as you have models to teach ... EXCELLENT!!

  • this is a very clear, concise tutorial. It was easy to follow and I really like my kawasaki rose!!! : D

  • never mind, i did it!! but my rose won't close correctly

  • okay, when you press the thing into a center square, mines just won't twist that way. please help.

  • i dont twist mine to me is way 2 hard so what i do is fold it diagonaly (through the square) thend press the square down and open it up but ive never done it on this version of a rose but thats how i do it if u want to see the instructions just ask and i will tell u what vid.

    Jason

  • why is it slow then fast?

  • Because YouTube has a10 minute limit on videos. The rose can take 1/2 hour to fold. Redundant or obvious folds are sped up to reduce the size of the video. That's where you use the pause button...

  • @Marigami I TOTTLAY AGREE

    U TUBE STINKS

  • i cant get the middle scare

    can anyoine help

  • Best instructions ever - I usually use diagrams instead of videos, but I was getting absolutely nowhere with the Kawasaki rose diagrams. Now I can't stop making them haha!

  • Thanks! I had such a hard time following this diagram too, so once it finally made sense to me, I had to help others.

  • its so hard to remember the steps, but thank u for making the steps more clear than the other videos :D

  • is all of the video in real time?

  • some of the precreasing is sped up

  • OMG ITS SO HARD

  • is this square paper? what size do you need to use?

  • it's square

  • how did u do it at 4:05?

  • Your a Legend :)

I finally made my first one today

Just in time for valentines :)

    THANK YOU

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I looked at other videos for the kawasaki rose, but they just confused and frustrated me. The rose I made doesn't look very good, but I want to practice and make roses for my friends for Valentine's Day. Chocolate tastes better, but these will last long. ;p

  • Thank you so much. I've been trying to do this for a while and this is the best video I have seen. I'v just made a dozen of these to give to my girlfriend or valentines day.

  • This is kinda hard, part 2 was wrong thats what got me confused

  • i love this it took me only one try!

  • the kawasakit twist isn't so hard anymore... im making one on index... and i finished the twist before mari did=]

  • :-)

  • so i was watching this other video, with some1 else making a diff. verson of it.. some1 said it was the kawasaki new rose... do u know it? and if you do, can you show us? this is the only vid i used to actually get a finished product your amazing! ive only made 3 so far, im trying to memorize the steps, and they are looking a little better each time. thanks so much again

  • how is it that u amde that center square come up at 6:50 and mine isnt!! its so freaking frustrating

  • If you follow the folds on the correct side of the paper, it will be there...

  • wat paper r u uising and wat store did u buy it micheals?

  • The paper I used in the video was regular origami paper. I buy it at AC Moore or Michael's, whichever I have a coupon for! I've made them using 10 inch and 6 inch paper as well as 3 1/2 inch memo paper (from Staples). I also used scrapbook paper and wrapping paper.

  • it would be easier if she had made some prefolding guide

  • can I use normal paper cut into a perfect square or do I need special origami paper?

  • Yes, you can use copy paper or even wrapping paper. The copy paper is a little stiffer to work with, but the results are good.

  • what the hell! u started off slow then started going fast! i cant keep up!

  • nice tut that kawasaki twist was the shit. i was like diyem thats tite

  • is this the modified version?

  • (?) It's the version just commonly known as the Kawasaki Rose.

  • That will earn you a lot of points! ;-)

  • It feels soooo good when you finally have a finished rose. I'm glad to help others to learn to make it!

  • next origami proyect....

  • ..................i got lost at 6:00

  • may i ask how many inch is that paper? thankx

  • I think I used 7 inch paper for the video. But I've made them from 12 inch paper as well as 3 1/2 inch memo paper. It's a great model. For the first time folding, it's easier when you use a large sheet of paper.

  • Let's say I use a 6 inch paper. Which size will the rose be?

  • about 1 1/2 inches

  • This is by far one of the best origami videos out there. I now know how to make the Kawasaki rose, and almost remember all the steps, the hard part is remembering when to flip the paper. The paper is flipped at least 4 times. :P

  • Hej isak! I agree with you: when I was first learning to make the rose, if I had a problem collapsing it (Part 2), it was because I made a fold on the wrong side of the paper. I'm glad you liked the video!

  • wth at the hands lol its like soooppper fast

  • woww thank you soooooo much! your origami videos are the best by far.... and i agree with that other guy.

KAWASAKI twist is like an orgasm! :]

  • You have made the most frustrating model I've ever tried to make seem so easy. Thank you thank you thank you!

  • Cool!

  • I sure hope that's a good comment! ;-)

  • he said he learned it and was very simple

  • Thanks! I appreciate it!

  • haha it means that

she knows how to make it now and it was easy =)

  • KAWASAKI TWIST :D it was like an orgasm

  • That was too good -- I can't stop laughing cause I know exactly what it felt like the first time I got the Kawasaki twist right! :-)

  • whooaaa the kawasaki twist part was so cool!!! xD

  • thankyouuu ! this video was great, very clear to understand.. finally made a pretty rose..okayish.. for now ^^

  • i found a trick to the twisting part i usually cant do it easily but if u get the shape of it and flip it over u can arrange it better from there

  • Demonstrate that in a video! We can all use tips to make folding easier...
