There is no difference other than social issues from the progressive Republican establishment and the progressive Democrat establishment. Many people fear that any level of Republican thought is a fascist thought (blind party support) simply because Mussolini (one of the founders of fascism) supported corporatism (and created syndicalism). He supported the state to actively try and defend business. These guys get it so wrong. And how is fixing a spending and govt manipulation problem solved with FAR more spending and govt manipulation? Spending $275,000 per job created via TARP isn't what I'd call success, especially since unemployment is still at 9.5+%. Didn't work in Japan, and its not working here. I'm on "the left" but I agree with Ron Paul, although I think it's possible for people to understand that we all have to pay for roads and hospitals to make them available to all. Saying hospitals (healthcare) should be private is just as stupid as saying only those who can afford it should be able to drive on a nations roads, or that we need "private alternative" roads running paralel to public roads.

Many people fear that any level of Republican thought is a fascist thought (blind party support) simply because Mussolini (one of the founders of fascism) supported corporatism (and created syndicalism). He supported the state to actively try and defend business. These guys get it so wrong. One key aspect that they so conveniently forget is that, in order for all of this to happen, you need some form of authoritarian control. Ron Paul wants less government, not more.
