To my ear, "Todd" is easily one of his most ambitious AND most coherent albums. He's really in the pocket on this one--tight, quirky, and unafraid to say he wants to change the world. Viva Todd.
Missing the end: "I want to change the World" a common Todd Theme. 0:43 is hilarious!! "Look it's me! this is my new record! c'mon lady I'm famous! Really! My name's Todd Rundgren! trust me" lol!
I want to change the world? Is that last little part not in the video or is it just cut off? Great video. I like when the guys tooth falls out on Todd. Hilarious.
This video was made in the very early 80's. BBC commissioned Todd to do a bio/disco on his career. He realized that much of his music always had been great for visualization. The film was made in form of an interview, where Todd plays both the "journalist", and himself. You get cuts from lots of his songs back to Something/anything and up to Healing, and an explaination to the change before A wizard, a true star. If you're a fan, and have yet to see it, you must! It's called "The ever popular...
I just did that, (along with getting Something/anything and the First Nazz record). My only question is after 40 plus years of listenig to music, why did I wait so long to get a Todd Rundgren record?
i got into him because when i first started buying lp's, it seemed like most of his catalog was in the bargain and cutout bins. i was curious, and i bought a few lp's and was hooked immediately!
Wow, love the video, love the song. Memories! Todd supposedly broke his arm during the filming of this video, causing him to cancel and reschedule what would be my very first Todd concert, in Austin, TX!
Hah, I love this song. This is my first time seeing this video though. Todd's so cute, hehe, and I loved his hairstyle when the Todd album was made. Thanks for uploading this video ^_^
Chapman had Rundgren on his "hit" list if he couldn't get to Lennon. He also had Walter Cronkite and Liz Taylor on it also. He was and is a deranged psycho and should rot in the joint but T.R. had NOTHING to do with it, ya yo yo!
Simply one of the most unique and talented individuals in musical history. TR is a magician no matter what he's creating. This little piece is adorable !
Great little video. Thanks!

Todd was making videos when the people running MTV were still in diapers. This clip was obviously shot on film, not video. Once again
Todd proves how far ahead of his time he is in his art.

well1howdy1doo 5 years ago
chapman left a todd cassette tape on his hotel room bed(faithful?)next to a copy of "catcher in the rye".
there were rumours that chapman stalked todd before lennon.can't say if this is true or not.
