hey i was wondering what the difference is between the sg standard and the sg faded. from what i hear its just the finish but then why would the faded be so much cheaper? please respond!

@SixStringSolid I'm honestly not sure, the SG faded also needed a lot of work as far as the fret work was concerned, I needed to have the frets dressed and edged to not feel sharp along the edge of the freboard, etc.

If you're taking lessons, resist the urge to think "this seems boring, when am I ever going to use this?" I did that with bass guitar lessons, and now I find that I had to re-teach myself all the things I could have just learned the first time.

Other than that, I'd say make sure you have a guitar that you enjoy to play. Doesn't have to be a fancy guitar, or a fancy namebrand, there's TONS of cheap-but-great guitars out there.

It's a combination I guess, mainly because I was trying to do this video with lower volume levels, so I used a bit of OD/boost to get some of the levels.

The amp itself has some great punch.

Thanks! It was making a really faint, high-pitched hum noise, and seemed to be induced by digital stuff in the pedal (it would coincide with the flashing of the LED, etc), so I let it go.

I think I should have worked it out and figured out how to use it more effectively. Next time... :)

Thanks- I can't seem to fins any videos on the SG that don't have it heavily distorted to the point where it's all effect and not the guitar. I'm trying to make comparisons between Faded SG and PRS SE and can't hear the Gibson clean anywhere. Except here. So far.

Pretty good! There are better pickups, GFS isn't the best out there, but they make cheap pickups that are okay on a budget.
