  • Easier said than this video showed, if you can do a hand stand and a backbend ur good go into a front walk over an kick over start in a handstand let ur feet flip into a backbend and stand up the more u run the easier it is i can do it not moving:)))

  • Hey thanks man! I've been wanting to learn how to FHS for awhile now...

    The tutorial is great. I was just trying it on a bed, and after a few tries I was able to do a FHS consistently.

    The three pointers: leg swing, hand push, and start hands closer to the feet were very helpful. Also, I found it easier to start lower to the ground. I didn't realize that I was starting it too high. This made it much easier to get the spin-then less leg swing or hand push is needed.

  • itz cuz if u jus try to go & do it ur body automaticlly turns sidewayz because of instinct...try first goin into a handstand thn fallin over into a bridge...or try runnin into a handstand & goin over but keep ur knees bent a little so u land on ur feet...itz jus a fear i guess,this move is really not tht hard =)

  • ummm i just learned this at school todain the snow , with no youtubeclips whatso ever i did it kept on falling on my back and i scapred my elbow and it started bleeding a lil but don't fear thing slike that. Be determined to do it and once you feel you can do it it works thats how i did it. Now gonna try it with no hands in a few days kindsa sprained my ankle and left wrist not too bad though. BTW run when you do it to gain momentum nice vid btw

  • i can land this flip like stainding and i can do back flip with no hands , but the hardest 1 belive it or not in front flip no ands is a pain in the ass , but im in my way to do it!

  • You're actually supposed to bring your hands far out in front of you because if you do things like front handspring -> front layout or front tuck, it helps with the punch since you're supposed to punch with your arms. Also, take a bigger step and make your handspring straighter...

  • Just remember to keep your arms straight and legs together. Not only does it look better, but it makes it easier to land. Correct form isn't always about making it look nice, most of the time it keeps you from getting hurt.

    Also, drive your heels really hard upward and push through your shoulders, not your hands.

    BTW, the second version of the handspring you did is called a "bounder".

    You have a lot of potential, why don't you just join a gym?

  • well the thing is..here in hawaii there aren't many gyms and most of them are really far from where i live at =[ and schools don't really offer gymnastics either. So I just gotta learn everything on grass/sand/or my mattress. LOL XD

  • There are some amazing tumblers at the University of Hawaii- they're cheerleaders.  Now that I know where you're from, I kind of understand though. Just be careful and remember to stretch before you do stuff. Work on your back flexibility. If you have any questions about stuff, feel free to ask around.

  • I have trouble pushing off with my hands, cause I cant think that fast while doing it. So I land on my back or my butt. Or sometimes I'm lucky and land on my feet but I'm practically on the ground. If you know what I'm doing wrong, please help??

  • ur supposed to keep ur arms straight to pop, or block, off ur hands to land in a perfect standing position. ill shoot a video of myself somewhere.

  • Handstanding before doing a handspring is nice.

    Just go up on your hands and fall over like a bridge.

    It can hurt you a little but its not much at all so no worries :)

    That can boost your confidence

  • I think the main problem is the fear of hurting yourself, i think that once your confident enough to put alot of energy into it then your more likely to get it right

    I suggest you go to the beach or get a mattress. That way you can experiment with it and when you fall, it won't be that bad. Although I learned it without a mattress and on grass.

  • I have been training on grass/sand. But sand is pretty hard cuz your hands are pretty unstable. Grass and madrasses is awsome :)

    havent tried madrasses yet but its gr8

    One more thing that I did was to place my hands on something hard before entering the sand.. thats also god :)

  • Well if you're landing on your back..

    you're probably scared so you're not putting any power into it, OR you're not using your arms.

    You have to SPRING off your hands and that'll give you height. I hope you practice on a soft surface o_O

    The second step is really not right. u're not supposed to place ur hands close to ur foot.

    and ur shoulder's falling a lot. and also keep ur legs straight.

    BTW its good for beginners.

Just get the basics down, and then work on it every day and eventually you'll get something great out of it. I didn't practice this move every day in order to get better at it but if I did I would've gotten it smoother much faster. lol
