Just another glaring example of the destruction done to Destin by development. I visited Norriego Point over 40 years ago in a small sail boat. There were no buildings out there, and the sand and dunes were enormous. Emerald Grande is an abomination. If they armor the point to serve that high rise monstrosity, the history and charm of Destin Harbor is lost forever. They know how to save the point, but not willing to sacrifice development to do it. Pitiful.
OMG, please do not tell me this. We stay at Norriego Point at East Pass Towers every yr. We will be there again in 2wks. I started coming to Destin in 1973 and have come every yr. Norriego Point was just a sandbar back then, and I have pictures of me on Old Destin Bridge where there is nothing in the background but sand and water. The thought of losing this precious resource saddens me deeply. Man continues to destroy what God has given to him. And, it's all because of the almighty dollar
