  • how do you install the roxio disc onto the mac when i do it it comes up with text shizz its doing my head in!

  • Comment removed

  • @thecreativeone is this the only vhs to dvd for mac you can get

  • @jackTHErampage - nope. you really only need the hardware of which there are plenty of options, such as Sabrent. The only reason for the mac/pc requirement with Roxio is due to the software they provide for you to install. But, you don't even need that really. You can get the hardware and pipe your signal directly to iMovie.

  • so this is a crappy capture card?

  • Could you use this to capture xbox360 :P

  • I have lg rc388, first you connect it to your TV you put a whs tape in and a rrw dvd and then via you TV you dub from vhs to the dvd or vs. it's real easy it will play in any dvd player and also on your pc

  • do you have a tutorial on how to make it into a dvd, because i am lost on that part.

  • um hey for the soft where do u have to down load it in ? plzz msg me back

  • I have this product and like it but am trying to figure out how to format my videos to upload to Facebook or You Tube.

  • It only comes with basic toast. you can burn them but only playable on the comp. you find out after opening that you need the $99 version to convert to other formats or to save it as a disk image. cant open them with Imoviehd or i movie.

  • this product has only 3 stars on amazon. how many stars do you give to the product??

  • Does it work with iLife'11?

  • my copy made my computer rash :/

  • yeah

  • I just bought ElGatos VideoCapture kit which looks a lot like the kit from Roxio that you have bought. But I was truly disappointed when I realized the product DID NOT rip the movies in the correct resolutions. It only captures in 640 pixles width. IN europe with the PAL standard, the width resolution is 720 pixels.

Could I use the videos created in for ex. iMovie och Final Cut pro, or is it just possible to use the videos with Toast?

  • I would be helpful if you could post a video of you actually installing and using the software.

  • Yeah how was this product?

I don't want to ruin my old videos.

  • How did this product work for you? I heard such horrible results for the Windows version. Was it able to do what it said it would, or did you end up having to return it? How long did the process take also.

  • Hey could you post a how to video on this.

  • i have one of these and it works really well. i use it to record video games so i have an analog splitter to split the signal between the tv and the computer. if you get the time check out my videos and tell me what you think :) thanks

  • when you got your first mac

  • Hey every1, just foud a great website with huge file collection (PC And MAC) Just google For Aries-Films and u will find it. You can also watch youtube video in my channel and see how many great programs they got

  • lol David is the founder of dis product ... he didn't buy it he got it for free u freakiin lier X(X(X(X

  • David, have you tried to record footage from video game consoles using this? If so, can you say how well it works?

  • haha yeah I love watching people as a kid.Haha upload more flashback videos :]

  • So, Im guessing you can use this to record gameplay from your TV straight to your Mac. Because Ive been looking for a capture hardware for Mac for like ages xD.

    Plz reply : )

  • yes we want to watch your home movies.

  • I prefer the easycap just because it's known well for this purpose.

  • Hi David, I'm thinking about getting this product but i've read a lot of reviews that it skips frames and the audio cuts in and out. Did any of that happen to you? have you had any problems?

  • Alot of skipping happened when I used it

  • Hay Man, how did this product work for you?

  • YES DO IT WELL WANNA SEE U YOUNG

  • can u do a how to video?because i might get this but for windows thx

  • Awesome

  • do both videos.

  • At 2:05 that is a USB extention cord.

  • its not its a chicken

  • Nice sarcasum.

  • put on transcribing closed captions then go to 2:39. It reads "Its Intriguing clash on iraq"! hahahahahaha lmao

  • @reddragon00714 yeh transcribing subtitles is getting hardly anything right

  • do u have any old videos of u getting the sega dreamcast? that would be sweeet

  • Yes Please, I want to see your old videos

  • how to video please :)

  • ur nothin without ur old videos !!

    pls put em

  • yes please!

  • YES! plese put up your old videos. they will be much appreciated :D

  • YES, I want to see you and Christin when you were young!! :D

  • I don't think my last comment posted. iPod does that sometimes. But want to see you as a kid. Sorry if I'm spamming.

  • Iol i just had a huge girl moment!!! Videos if when you were a kid!!! :) they're always so fun to watch.

  • Does it capture at a 1:1 rate, ie if the video on the VHS tape is 2 hours long will it take 2 hours to capture that video to a digital format?

If so then I think you might need to rethink this whole business, I mean if you're getting paid 14.95$ to capture a 2 hour video you're only getting paid 7.50$ an hour..not the best wage in the world.

Hoping things work out for you but I won't be surprised if they don't. Love the videos, keep up the great work!

  • yeah I want to see you as a kid on a pc and saying WINDOWS ME FUCKING SUCKS

  • David, I thought you used Final Cut Express HD? Did you switch to iMovie HD?

  • i want to see you as a kid

  • i agree

  • I think you should create a new opening page. Just to 'jazz' up your opening. Just a thought :)

  • You should really do a good business transferring VHS to DVD. I do it for a lot of family members. But if you get your site out there, I know you'll get a lot of business. Especially in South Jersey. Where I used to work and live!!! yea!

  • I clearly stated in the video that I figured it's a USB extension cable. I wanted to make sure for my viewers' purposes. Don't be so harsh.

  • Try plugging in your xbox and see what happens.

  • yes

  • Yes, I would definitely like to see some old videos!

I'd prefer a review video. It seems pretty self-explanatory, no need for a how-to.

  • so it's a Low Rez capture card?

  • I have one but I have Dazzie.

  • defiantly!

  • ye do it !!!!!!!!!!!

  • yes footage on youtube

  • yes

  • yes, footage on youtube

  • YEA

  • yea

  • yes!!!

  • Yeah you should put old footage of you, it would be pretty funny to see, in a good way

  • Actually I'd be curious to see how the transfer works out from vhs to dvd. Thanks for the review btw.

  • Old footage, plus a "How to" video please, David! I think one of the hard things would be finding a VHS player in good working order. Also, if you received international orders, how would copying, say a UK video on American VCR work?

  • Interesting, good luck with the business.

As an aside, you should make it clear on the site who you are. First of all, it would help you establish authority and make the customer more comfortable with your company because they can see who you really are and your accolades on youtube and second, when I first saw the link on twitter it was a little deceiving because I didn't know if it was a plug for someone else or to show off your new baby.

    Just my two cents.

  • *thumbs up*

  • Michael, excellent points! Thank you. I'll take them into consideration.

  • Is there VHS to DVD made for Windows, I'm thinking of starting a little business as well.

  • Yes there is a Windows version or you can buy a similar device called Dazzle that comes with Pinnacle Studio for Windows

  • old footage por favor!!!! that'd be awesome.

  • The USB extension cable is very useful for Laptops.

The USB-stick is quite large compared to a normal USB-plug.

If I had to plug the stick into my MacBook, I couldn´t plug any other USB-device into it. The other port would be blocked.

  • Dave, old footage would be siiiick.

  • Hi i´m thinking of getting this product to capture my minidv camcorder´s footage, because I have an aluminium macbook that doesn´t have a firewire port.

Could you do a review of this product telling your experience with that? I also would like to know if the captured footage is compatible with final cut.

Sorry for my poor english but this is not my prime language.

    Thanks

  • i love every you vid you make!

  • Obviously it's a USB extension cable. :P

  • Great vid Dave, can you let us know how EASY it is to use? I read reviews for the Windows version that said it was NOT easy to use and a real PITA. Thanks !

  • I'd love to see your old footage

  • yes play baby footage on youtube :P

  • 5 stars for lil dave!!!

  • My ancient hp computer with windows XP has these built in... i wouldn't mind seeing that younger footage of you

  • yes that would be awesome

  • old footage would be awesome :D

    x

Very useful thing, my dad capture a lot of video's from me and my sister. So i think i'm gonna buy that thing.

    Thanks for the tip!

  • yeah it wound be kool to see you youn

  • YES WE WANNA SEEE OFC !!! :)

  • Can you use this with other composite stuff e.g. Wii for recording of the gameplay.

  • I guess this could be used on any composite equipment? some gameplay videos up maybe ?

  • do it! old videos are fun

  • I have been thinking about getting this. Lets us know how it works.

  • YES! Classic footage FTW!!!

  • The sound works just fine for me.

  • thanks, i got mine working by starting the application and then plugging the capture card in

  • YEA SHOW US OLD U

  • I agree with everyone else! You should upload your old home videos! (if that's not like, an invasion of privacy or anything)

  • Yeah show us! We love your videos!

  • David do a how to and review in one video, that would be great!

  • SHOW US OLD FOOTAGE!!!!

  • i like turtles.

  • Yes, put your old videos on YouTube.

  • bluetooth adapters are amazingly small

  • Yes! Upload your old vhs, David!

  • yes i want to see vids

  • 1. i want to see how you use it xD

    2. yes upload your old old videos

  • Yeah, people are not idiots anymore (well the majority are not).

  • Were did peace come from? u are copying solder knows best!

the review looks good though :)

  • solder?

    SolDIER

solder is a lead/tin alloy used in the manufacture of electronic products :)

  • Soliderknowsbest is a great guy, but he didn't invent the peace sign. ;) I've been saying it for a while now, just not in every video.

  • I think you missed out on the whole VHS conversion thing by atleast two years. I don't think people will pay anymore. Good luck regardless I hope it goes well.

  • The "USB adapter" is a usb extender, it allows you to plug in the roxio further away from your Mac :)

  • dw about this i didn't watch up to the part where david checked about it :P

  • I don't want to get like attacked for this comment but David no offence, this product is only sixty dollars and you charge around 10$ for the service on the website so personally if I wanted this service I would just go and buy the roxio easy to vhs for 60$ and then just use it unlimitedly.

  • You'd be surprised at what people pay for convenience. It all comes down to business. Some people just don't know how to do this kind of thing.

  • David please do review or how-to video!

I'm really interested in this product but Im wondering how good and fast is workflow

  • YES YES YES YES YES We do want to see the videos =-)

  • yes old footage would be awesome!

  • Yes please make more videos

  • I'd like to see a review.

  • ive been doing this for some cash on the side for quite some time now and have used many different tuner cards and USB tuners. most of those USB adapters work very poorly. stick to actual tuner cards.

  • yes i would lo ve to see it please

  • The Easy Cao does all of this, plus its a little cheaper, plus you can connect ur live Xbox or PS3 to it and record.

  • Old footage would be awesome!!!

  • yeah old footage would be cool :D

  • Use the cable, if you plug-in the adapter directly into the USB, then it might break your adapter or USB. SO I suggest using the cable that came with it.

  • i thought you would be making a graphic desing bussnies

  • I'm in the process of building that right now. It will be official in a couple weeks.

  • @thecreativeone cool

  • Yea that would be cool to see

  • show old footage!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Btw, check out my unboxing. Its in the related videos bar!

  • This product has been out for a while and I have it too. Unless you have a high processor speed computer, it won't work fast at all. It took me 10 minutes to convert a 2 minute clip on my 2.0 GHz MacBook. So, think about it before you make the purchase. After all, it is 80 bucks. Not exactly cheap IMO. Also, sometimes, it can make your videos much darker than they should be. I don't recommend this product a whole bunch.

  • Actually it's been working great for me. The tape plays back at normal speed while importing. I think the converted footage actually looks pretty good, especially considering it's VHS quality.

  • Well, I think its just my crappy computer then. I'm happy its working for you. I hope your business takes off!

  • Thank you!

  • yes i would like to vids of you when you were a kid

  • You bought a very good domain name i gotta tell you that

  • yuppps we wanna see u when ur a kid. XD

  • Hey, no problem! I already converted some test footage and it's very easy to do. Definitely worth a purchase!

  • Yes
