  • I've seen the show twice (2009 and about three weeks ago) and it is fabulous. I dare you not to get choked up at the end.

  • I've seen clips and heard the official soundtrack album from the original (1968) Broadway production with James Rado, Diane Keaton, Melba Moore, etc...and, of course they are the original, so they OWNED it. But, after seeing the '09 revival with Gavin Creel & Will Swenson and the rest of that amazing cast - I can't imagine anyone - even the OBC - doing this show better. I think they were better. If there was just one Broadway musical to see in your life. "Hair" would be the one.

  • I miss will's hair!!!

  • they all look so cute so dressed up ^^ ..god this shows means so much to me...

  • A friend of mine sent me this video via facebook, and all I can say is wow. Whoever the guy soloist was is amazing. And the blonde girl was simply fantastic. Definitly going to find more HAIR videos!

  • @hoppusdelongearegods I think that's the fabulous Gavin Creel (someone correct if I'm wrong please,).

  • I miss HAIR, especially this cast. They were so wonderful. Gavin is a god.

  • Blonde chick got into it! Look at her jammin!

  • Very powerful song. But WTF do the words mean?

  • LOVIN IT!

  • WOW ! So great ! The more you watch it, the more you realize how they build their passion for Hair from one anougher, and BELIEVE ME it's a win -- win situation ! I love it.

  • Biggest bummer when this left Broadway.

  • True Beauty

  • @ittyxbitty yup... sure is!! :)

  • oh i love him!

  • I've seen it in London and I've met all of them (except Will).. Im so happy.

  • I saw this show in london not long ago with the broadway cast- I totally fell in love with it and was lucky enough to meet most of the cast after the show. I don't think the english cast will ever beat the broadway cast.

  • @ellzz1234 16th August.. That was the day I saw them...

  • how can 8 people dislike this? they must have flinched when trying to press the like button!

  • I am so grateful they are over here in London and feel like the most luckiest person in the world to have danced with and met them. They are all amazing, beautiful people.

  • those jeans are verrry tight! ;)

  • how gavin didn't get the tony I don't know.

  • @nuwanda3333 Because of those little brats from Billy Elliot. Fuck 'em!

  • Danced on stage with most of them last night on London Westend!! ;) haha

  • I love Kacie's little "woaaaah" at around 3:20

  • there is so much talent on broadway

  • @Hairspray1234

    hence why it's Broadway. :)

  • so sad to see it go, yet so lucky to have seen it come.

  • damnnnn.

  • Gavin Creel's voice is just mesmerizing! He really shines as Claude, the way he delivers his performance is both beautiful and haunting.

  • I saw this last summer on Broadway. The finale of this show give me goosebumps! I am going to go again!

  • Gavin Creel=<3

  • Who is the singer in the beginning ???

  • @Yahoo181818 Gavin Creel

  • @FoldAndDivide

    Thx ^^

  • Damn. Gavin (and they) make it seem so easy.

  • the harmony from the girls was amzing

  • gavin should date cheyenne jackson. would they not be the most GOREGOUS couple ever???????

  • @Maroon5RoxMySox Not as gorgeous as he and Johnathan Groff.

  • I live in Manchester :D

  • Amazing vocals all around. You really get into their emotions. They did a fantastic job of connecting with their audience...even their virtual ones

P.S. Why is Gavin Creel so hot??!! If my man could sing like that, I'd be one happy woman :)

  • @ighforever You are a moron. Supporting LBJ? Despicable.

  • @ighforever No, you don't seem an insane Christian fundie at all. No...

  • @ighforever

Yup, a show that demonstrates love is evil... A cast that is all FOR equality, as it should be, is evil. You're SO right. -sarcasm-

  • @BlueJeanBaby012 This world isnt about equality. Its about God reconciling a fallen world unto himself by his Blessed and only Begotten Son Jesus. Thats it. His Mercy and Love is Greater than the payment God demands for sin. Its really like that.

e-sword . com has a Free Bible download. Free e-books too. Check it out.

Jesus is Lord of all. Amen

  • @ighforever

oye vey... people like you ruin the magic and beauty of shows like this... I bet you hate Spring Awakening.

and yes. the world IS about equality and love. not just love from God, but love for people as they are. learn to be more accepting of others and stop trying to preach your religion onto others. thanks!

  • saw broadway cast do hair in west end last night! was amazing! got on stage an sang with them in finale!

  • @antobuckley123 where were you sitting? when i go i want to get on stage so much!

  • Absolutely wonderful.

  • Gavin Creel. <3

  • the blonde high beltress on the right was awesome!

  • Kassie Sheik! She is amazing! :)

  • Perfect. Simple, beautiful, amazing!

  • saw them 2 weeks ago on Broadway - simply stunning, breathtaking experience!!

    Love the CD :)

  • Dear Original Revival Tribe,

I am going to miss you. So much. Have fun spreading peace and love to the Brits!

    I love him

  • @Elphaba88

    Why, yes, yes it is.

  • there is a girl on here who actually puts down gavin as claude and says he is the worst one. sheeeeeeesh. some people. anyway, i am going end of Jan and front row...i am so excitedd

  • Check the Dutch version of Hair Wow, so bad.

  • cassie and kacie are amazing, absolute chills!

  • Good Job, Class act ! Thanks

  • i always get goosebumps when i hear this. they are so amazing. when i saw it on broadway i almost cried

  • fierceness. right there.

  • Oh and on the Kacie/Caissie duet... I believe Caissie is taking the higher part that SHasha usually sings while Kacie is taking the part Caissie usually sings as Sheila. Sheila's verse is lower than Dionne's.

  • Where the eff is Caissie's Tony nom?! Robbed. I think she deserved it over Jennifer from N2N. Just sayin.

  • I fully agree. I mean... I love Jenn. But everything she said or sung was sooo overacted.

  • Like I said on another video, and it's obvious in this one that Kacie is singing the higher part-- PLEASE do that more, Kacie. So fierce.

  • actually no, that's Jackie Burns. Kacie's singing the lower part. Megan Reinking and Jackie alternate the high part.

  • @eponinesyndrome-- oh, I knew that :) it's just that in this performance, it's only kacie and caissie with microphones, so it's kind of obvious that caissie take her lower part while kacie sings the higher harmony, which I know she doesn't usually do. hence my comment.

  • nah, you can clearly hear kacie doing the lower part and caissie for once actually sings the high part. they've changed around who sings it since they were doing it in the park.

  • i've heard this cast's version of 'eyes look your last/let the sunshine in' at least a thousand times and each time i get chills.

(note: patchouliboi—i also can't stop staring at gavin's package! :p)

  • this is such an amazing version of this song...whenever it comes on my ipod i have to play it at least twice

  • This song always gets to me, no matter how many times i see it, listen to it.

PS: I couldn't stop staring at Gavin's package!

  • wow., nice vocals.. most especially to gavin..haha loooove him

  • great voice...

  • Jesus H. Christ! This song gives me chills EVERY SINGLE TIME I LISTEN TO IT! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent song, and conveys a beautiful message never let the sun shine in our lives. very good these guys really sing beautifully.

Of course the original version is much better, and today everyone with his style and despite the years still enjoy. remains in good time

  • i think caissie levy was ripped off she deserved a tony nomination

  • I totally agree!

  • 18 is older than some and you can tell and 11 year old how wise you are and what you've experienced but don't claim to be too wise beyond your years with not many years to back you up. You have the right to your opinion, but I must say in my opinion its the wrong one Silvergirl

  • i respect that.

  • Thanks.

  • silver. i saw the show about 3 days ago and this show rocks. this version is not the best but i want you to go see the show. if you cant afford to go see it on broadway wait untill it tours. this show rocks. gavin creel is an amazing singer. you listen to any recording from hair he sings its not even close to how he sounds live.

  • i <3 hair we sang it at my skool

  • i dare anyone not to be moved by Let the Sunshine In

it is so fricken moving with the lyrics and the build. it fills me up.

  • Jarm- in my last comment to Silvergirl i didn't mean your recording was horrible...just doesn't capture how amazing it really is live. that's all. thanks so much for posting! :)

  • Oh I understand. I've seen it live at the Hirschfeld and it's AMAZING. This performance was also the first time they performed in public (i think) so it was exciting to tape it and i was so close and excited! lol.

  • and to top it off i shortened your name to Jarm and not Jam...lol!!!

I can imagine how you would have felt (well, i can't because i wasn't there) but what an experience!!! i have even watched the movie again just to see the differences and watched as many clips of this cast as well as i can. i hope it runs a long time. how long to revivals stay around? i am really wanting to come to this one. <3

  • I just wanna how old you are... and when I can expect to see on Broadway.... and I guess I'd like to know how long you've been studying voice... because i get the feeling that you lack actual knowledge in the subject area. This isn't a soapbox for people who wish they could be great.... so sit it on down, and hush.

  • i just hope you feel embarrassed considering this is the broadway revival cast hahahahahaha

  • silvergirl678.....18? yeah you have a lot to lurn!

let the sun shine!!!!! lives on!

  • My Dear...if you knew the premise of this musical at all, and if knew ANYTHING about the '60s and the "drug culture," you'd know that this is a very distinct genre of musical. It's not about "choreography"...no jazz hands, no Michael Bennett, Bob Fosse or "so you think you can dance" routines. But, as you said, you're only 18. Everything you know about "rock" today began with musicals such as this one. 18-year-olds should be seen and not heard.

  • LOL...you just proved my point. Repeat after me...seen and not heard...seen and not heard. LOLOLOL

  • @mmutzu well i don't think necessarily being 18 has anything to do with it, maturity and wisdom arrive at many ages, and for some...never...

  • what are you listening too? this cast is great. Gavin Creel has anything but a weak voice.

  • i encourage you to watch seth rudetsky's deconstruction on going down.. just look up gavin creel going down on youtube and then come back and talk about Gavin.

before you pass those judgments you really need to see them in the show...and not (sorry) a bad youtube recording) seriously....

  • yeah ok i heard it.i think what i don't like about him is that he's more like a pop artist in a rock part and what i don't like about the revival is that is turned most songs to pop intead of the folk rock whick was initially the genre of the musical.also i think that (at least some) and members of the tribe are a little too old to play the young rebels(in the particular performance noone seems much of a rebel-let's accept that hippies were rebels!)

  • yes, i understand and i was a little rude in another thread when i preach about people having a right to their own opinion. naughty me!!! sorry.

just have a peak at Hair the tony's,,(search) maybe you have seen it. i thought that performance was phenominal . Allison Case is age appropriate and others. they are in their 20s and look very young. i am a dancer and the HAIR number at the Tony's showed the coreography to be excellent for me. can't compare a concert to the actual show for rocking.

  • it's ok, i'm rude most of the times (...).i love all the performances of "hair"song i've seen (in youtube), its exactly what i expected; choreography and performance.but the flesh failures still disapoint me.probably because i love the song too much or because i'm a little jealous of sheila(.......!), but i certainly prefer the german independent production with seibert-he's just got it in the eyes & i do prefer him a thousant times over creer, even though the latter is not that bad after all...

  • shut the hell up! this cast rocks... you are just a total wanna be drama club graduate who aint gonna smell the stage dream on. your name say's it all you will never be a gold performer!!!

  • oh yeah?& what does your name mean??if you're a psychologist hear that Yeah i'm total wanna be drama club graduate, but aint gonna smell the stage only because i'm greek & not that rich to pay for vocal classes or for tickets to america.but you know what?i'm glad i can't because i at least have the moral value of not judjing peole i know nothing about just because i disagree with them& if you knew rock so well you'd know what my name is really about.careful cause what shines isn' always gold

  • This performance of this particular song is not about choreo. at all. They are simply performing the song for equality at a benefit...out of context!!!!! Watch the performance on youtube of the actual show if you care to know what the show is about and the incredible message it has. Don't be ignorant and know that you always have something to learn no matter how old you get.

  • If you see the actual show on stage they do have a lot more depth to their performance. This performance was for the Marriage=Equality Rally and they did it for free.

  • Gavin Creel <3

  • Kacie Sheik is fierce! I didn't know she could sing that harmony that Sasha usually sings

  • yeah she sounded fabulous but looked like if the F# was one semitone higher she would keel over. well it wasnt her role anyway right?

  • Wait so - what happened to the girl in the purple and black dress on the right? She moved into a new role?

  • It must be cool for Cassie and Saycon to be back at the Gershwin seeing that at some point they were both elphabas there

  • I just saw this on Sunday :) the university here did it

  • wow. I was in my school's performance of HAIR this year as Sheila and I had thought we did a pretty good job of entering the character but wow...this is just fantastic. Makes me wanna step up my game a little haha :)

  • geeze....how tight are gavin's pants? :D

  • not tight enough! :)

  • LMAO niice

  • tight enough for me to "admire" him. ;)

his hat is so cute :)

  • the guy that played as burger (long brown hair on left) kept showing his ass and ding dong to the crowd in the first 5 mins 2weeks ago when i went...same actor..yes thats cassie levy....

  • gavin creel has such an amazing voice!!!

  • he really really does

  • Allison Case. :]]

  • Congrats on that Tony. I wasn't into hair or musicals until I heard the voices of Sasha and Gavin. ROCK ON!!!

  • What an amazing job these guys have !!! I mean you can tell by their expressions how much fun they're having when they're performing, I guess that's what makes it so incredible and gives everybody in the audience goosebumps !!!

  • Yeah i agree. There facial expressions are amazing but you have to remember that you really should get into the lyrics to this song and meanings behind it. You will be amazed

  • Kacie Sheik is just amazing. Her voice is amazing. Her facial expressions are amazing and she seems so into it. Just amazing.

  • I agree. She's crazy.

  • the girl in the black is FIERCE!

  • Are you talking about the girl who sings at 1:58? Thats Caissie Levy, she played Elphaba on Broadway as well as LA.

  • is this with patina?

  • No, I believe Sasha Allen was playing Dionne at this point.

  • woww that was awesome..i got chills!

  • I want to go and see this now!!!

  • I just love the way Gavin responds to everything and his facial expressions

  • I love Gavin so amazing!!!!!!!

  • Incredible. I got chills.

  • perfection

  • was Will staring at Gavins butt in the beginning? xD Or do I just have visions in my head? Haha

this is incredible, Gavin is so sweet, this cast gives me goosebumps- I'm obsessed (stealing that word from Seth R)- with the way Gavin says RUSH

  • LMAO! I think so they smile at each other to.

  • I can't stop watching this! Thanks so much for posting it, Jamchee79! Like others have said, I get chills watching this.

And your camera work was great!

  • Thanks so much! I was hard to video tape it while getting goosebumps and trying not to shake it too much! lol!

  • God I love the female part of this song where the high harmonies come over the lower part! This is one of the greatest songs.

  • this gives me the chills. speachless

  • I know gavin is so amazing!

  • Chills. Their voices are incredible! Makes me regret not pursuing singing more...

  • so great!

  • ummm i got chills. :)))

  • the only thing is, each time it's done now , be it Broadway or civic theatre, it has a distinctly different feel and look than when it 1st opened. mostly because it was about and of a time And that only happens once. this concert or the show though are a good representation or interpretation.

it meant something different then than now.
