Aww, I feel so bad for him--yes, he was very brave. Back in '91, Jens had some pyro go off too close to his head and it knocked him out for at least 10 seconds. I guess he got through the rest of the show but he had to go the hospital afterwards--poor thing!;( (So, not only does he love blowing stuff up, but he survived GETTING blown up...MUCH RESPECT!\m/) And he had a sense of humor about it! On his website, he said, "Luckily there was no per-lalaharalabalabala-menent damage..." LOL

Man I thought metallica Blew before I started listening to good metal bands like this, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Dragonforce, Hammerfall, etc. But now... Metallica REALLY BLOWS... I honestly attribute their sucess to the fact that a lot of people today just have pitiful musical taste. It's not their fault either because MTV, E!, and Clearchannel is shoving it down their throats all the time. I stopped listening to the radio about 8 years ago because it's so useless.

Well, when you're a guitarist you play your guitar like 5 hours every day, or more, and you don't feel "the two hour 2nd and 3rd degree crap", try hold some fireworks in your hand. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be singing, more like screaming of pain or something.

Ok... I'm a BIG Stratovarius fan and Kotipelto is one of my favourite singers. But comparing this event to what happened to James Hetfield of Metallica is pure ignorance and stupidity.

Yes, the people paid for a gig, they wanted to listen to METALLICA, not Lars, Jason, Kirk playing and James just singing with some technician or random guy playing the rhythm guitar. He may not be the lead guitarist, but still, without Hetfield's playing, it's not Metallica. That's why the cancelled their gig and James left for the hospital.

I am not downgrading Kotipelto, conrats to him for continuing with the show, but don't compare different situations.
