  • does anyone know what kind of engine is used to power a glider or a gyro

  • @MrBlaz1994 A lawnmower motor is often used, even electric motors. You need around 18 hp depending on the weight of the craft & you. The only motor a glider has is the wind, hence the term glider.

  • @MrBlaz1994 Gyrocopters are actually quite draggy and so need larger, more muscley engines. A lawnmower won't suffice. They use Subaru Flat-4s or Rotax 582, or even Rotax 912 (80 - 100hp). Fixed wing can do with less (more slippery). Gliders can go as low as about 18-20hp but only for sustaining in mid-air. Not for take off.

  • Could you please disclose the secret to making one of the best and most accurate homemade flying machines I've seen on youtube? Thanks!:)

  • real?

  • That looks fun,

  • wow, its like a Mad Max creation!

  • ASTIG, CONVERT ALL MOTOR TO FLY

  • how the hell did he create enough lift to get hs massive BALLS! off the ground?? crazy mofo, look at the amount of joystick shake hes copping... i bet he wasnt even wearing a helmet!

  • Wen he landed he caused an earthquake from his massive balls

  • FAKE

  • @xVisiOn500 Oh, god! I thought we got rid of the slew of uneducated dolts who have never seen a gyrocopter! Read all the previous comments, see the related videos and get an education before saying such stupid things!

Gyroplanes/Gyrocopters/Autogyros have been around since the 1920s!

  • this is the same way which north german use to get the finaly target south german, arcoss berlins wall.

  • Damn hes got guts flying something made up from probably a lawnmower engine, bits of an old bicycle going by the hand brake on the joy stick, and various bits of assorted string holding the lot together.

  • Hes crazy, Id have to have a chute on

  • that thing looks so shady all rattling and shit lol

  • Used to be a field full of guys flying these suicide devices on the south side of Price's Forks road in Blacksburg, Va. Every one of them either died or ended up permanently disabled.

  • That looks like it feels really good.

  • @esscape911 lol ya but swimming has done them well for years

  • Wow...nice landing..

  • that would be great for Mexicans to cross the border

  • @esscape911 I'm mexican but your ID reminded me of a band that i couldn't remember so thanks ............. random

  • @cervantesJEFE lol np!

  • @esscape911 fucking americans there you go with the racism again why dont you just shut up and stick a dildo up yo ass

  • @Apu1045 Everyone's racist in one way or another, it's the world we live in. It won't change in any out our life times as long as people stay ignorant, at this rate it might not.

  • @xSynergized I know and i am sick of it

  • @esscape911 I'd pay a fortune to see that man.

  • @esscape911 Yeah, this things would totally hold their own against the border patrols black hawks!

  • @esscape911 looooooool

  • How much this plane? about to get one

  • hahahahaha GTA San Andreas Flying Cars Cheat #LOL

  • this man later died after the double bubble holding it together fell apart.

  • @carlojeffersonyu45, Chinese, actually! Don't forget the capital letter! :)

  • This guy needs a seatbelt and a parashute, hell yeah!

  • flying car cheat?

  • And the chinease did it again!

  • @C3livasth you spelled chinese wrong dumb ass

  • way to go, man!

  • It is obviously a red neck flying lawnmower...duh.

  • @birdman5002 hahahahah

  • That was a cool vid.

  • Nice landing ... but control flutter can end badly.

  • Õ.ò

  • great job keep flying ..i like it ..u r blessed chap...

  • Awesome, but in the USA you would be put in jail, probably a first degree felony.

    Love the fake FREEDOM here.

  • ITS NOT FAKE YOU STUPID MOTHER FUCKERS. Its a Gyrocopter!

They are very simple to make.

  • @heatherandpaul2 how can i make one? Where can i find the information

  • @heatherandpaul2

    ok i want one

  • Looks like someone needs a Rotor ballance

  • nice landing...

  • I'm still surprised that people think building aircraft by ordinary citizens is somehow impossible

  • @adrastea99 - Exactly! I couldn't have put it better myself! Leaving the ground is not as hard as people think it is. I think that there are too many "armchair experts" floating around the internet!

  • @adrastea99 not impossible just not alowed ;p and if you do in most western countries it will get you in jail. As our laws are based on reverse psychology e.g you would be putting other people in danger.

me personally I couldnt give a shit if you wanted to strap yourself to a pocket rocket, but I dont make the rules just have to (apparently) bow down to them.

See you in the sky :)

  • @WellPlacedSkidMark

    Wut?

You just need clearance from FAA, which is super easy to get

  • Brave man to fly this shaker)!

Find Grebennikov's flying platform video here at youtub. Have fun.

  • Certainly a fuck yeah moment! :D

  • So it is possible to build your own flying machine. I want to turn a sailboat into a airship one of these days.

  • chinese're owning.

  • @gelfddelfg yes they are. What do Americans do to match this?

  • you are so genius, must be obtain a price for that homemade and flying gyrocopter.

like ist very much, and keep going, but dont crash it or you.

  • Well, I don't know how often this guy plans to fly his gyrocopter, but he needs to balance the rotor blades. Every bit of un-necessary vibration adds up to metal fatigue in the control system...as simple as it is. If he puts a lot of future flight time in this machine as is, one day he may lose control of the rotor and then it'll be the end of him.

  • That fucker either has Big balls, or a little brain..

  • People, look at how that rickety gyro is shaking. Held together by shoestring. No doubt it is home made. Awesome work!!!

  • This is amazing.

  • I've been flying mostly small airplanes since 1964. If all that stick shaking is normal for a gyrocopter, I think I'll pass on ever flying one!

  • @DougDaCosta It's just got soul, that's all.

  • Vapsie savizudis as tokio nepilotuociau samadielkinio lektuvo, gyvent dar noretus

  • 100% flying indian guy...

  • Totally photoshopped ;) JK! Pretty sweet flying thingy. That stick is wobbling quite a lot though like maybe some controls are loose? :(

  • I love it free wild and perfect show that You can make something if you want :) Love and peace to all of You, about safety nothing is safe !!! this is imagination Nobel for pilot !!! say yes if you agree

  • Comment removed

  • MADE IN CHINA!!!

  • looks like something that'd crash and kill you

  • cool but its made whit loose ropes. would like to see what it looks like tho.

  • no offence but even tho im 13 i could pilot that in us but thts besides the point, the point is u made wut looks like to me propellor strated to a push mower with the motor being the push mowers

  • shure, what about safety?

but cool idea, can i get the plans? i got my brother (14 years) as test-pilot

  • Erm...FUCK THAT!

  • I kept thinking, that joy stick is going to disengage while he showing off with his 2 finger technique...lol

These are the type of people that become statistics. Thanks, but no thanks.

  • @icimblind I've flown gyrocopters before, and this degree of stick shake, especially for a simple, open-framed gyrocopter is quite normal. It may look freaky, but not really.

  • @zorgsplat,

Ok, do you usually wear a seat belt or safty harness? And what is with the rope?

Gyrocopters you don't need a license with, is that true? To get the required experience in flight time do you go up in a two man gyrocopter?

I do like the idea of flying like this, just want to make sure it relatively safe.

  • @icimblind Yes, you *always* wear a safety harness in *any* aircraft. I also have about 300 hours in gliders and powered.

Licencing depends on where you are. I think the US requires no licence, but you'd be crazy to try and teach yourself to fly one.

There are gyrogliders (towed behind a car along the strip) for basic control skills and then two-seaters with an instructor.

At a certain point, they send you solo.

That's where you buy/build your own Bensen/Brock machine and wind up the hours.

  • that should be invloved in the 2011's Technologies of Safety Development!!!

  • lol fkin rattletrap!!!

  • laughing so hard at the idiots who think its fake, wow! hilarious!

  • not normal man!!!

  • Its a Gyro Copter! And Mr. Gadget is flying!

  • come on guys calm down they just knew what is green screen so when they see anything strange they say it is a green screen lol :)

  • I wonder what the other half looks like

  • got give it to him. he has major balls and a brain to go with it. very rare ..

  • PROOF ITS NOT FAKE 'PASTE THIS' watch?v=KRo9UvzgJYM&feature=watch_response

  • /watch?v=SqrAA0xDKmE&feature=related ''not fake

  • GREEN SCREEN!!!!! WTF!!!! People are really strange... You have to be a complete IDIOT!!! to even think this was a green screen.

  • Top banana. No price on the laws of physics. They're free. Especially if you don't tell your neighbour what you did with his mower.

  • Obviously these idiots have never heard of ultra-light aircraft . It has to be some kind of conspiracy against there intelligence . God forbid . I was in the Air Force and these crazy people were trying to fly machines . How on earth can we fly ? God didn't give us wings ? Did He ? Peoples ignorance is baffling .

  • he edited the backdrop in

    FAKE!FAKE FAKE!

  • @indiman2000 You should read what sierra190 wrote above.

  • @indiman2000 Are you stupid or something ? Maybe it's a conspiracy , right moron ?

  • @indiman2000 Google "gyrocopter" , eventualy "coffee machine" or "motorcycle" as well. And above all : PLEASE don't reproduce yourself. (if in doubt : ask your dad how it was done, avoid doing the same)

  • Прекрасно! Чувствуется твёрдая рука опытного лётчика .Хотя аппарат выглядит не убедительно . Полёт стоит риска!

  • about as safe as strappindg a live fiework to your arse

  • #OMG

  • now as you we've got some flight ready rope on here holding down what appears to be a pot... yah its is way safe..

  • dont like looking at his CROTCH what was he flying and something was clanging

  • It could be real, but its most likely a remote control airplane(specially in the way it takes off/lands and turns on the ground)..that recorded the footage and placed on a green-screen

  • @fasttrackme It could all those things you say, but if you had *any* experience with gyrocopters, you'd realise that it's most probably just a simple gyrocopter.

They're not that complicated, you know!

A question, though: Have you even *seen* a greenscreen up close??

  • it's just a random guy on a machine with greenscreen behind it... the classic tric also with fan if really got off ground person would probably at least scream nice try moron maybe people will believe you if you crash?

  • @iamevan771 It is difficult to believe but if it is greenscreen that the imaging has its perception base absolutely spot on which is not at all cheap to do plus when the craft moves left or right the pilote is experiencing some force upon his body. There are other anomalies which goes against the idea of greenscreen; too many to list here. I agree it is difficult to know.

  • I have a feeling it is greenscreen

  • @benoit353 I have a feeling you've never even *seen* a green screen up close, let alone are an expert in them, so as to just what is greenscreen and what is real!

  • COOL!!!! What engine did you use, from what did you make the frame and wings

  • i would not fly on that thing for 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 yen!

  • @tracey20520 come on. you know you would.

  • nice landing =D.

  • It needs a cupholder.

  • With the kind of rattling showing, something bound to shaken loose very soon.

  • nice green screen test!!! other wise funny :)

  • ill belive it when i see someone take a photo from the ground.

  • sounds like a chainsaw motor

  • This is real !!! crazy chines !!!

  • omfg i would shit bricks if i flew one of those things

  • it's not fake, the sky had an overcast to it so the lighting seems the same the whole time, but if you jump to different points of the video randomly you can see light differences.

  • selfdestructive hobby

  • i like the shoes this gay has...what is he doing with the stick?..masturbating?...

  • it is a gyro copter look at the outrigger wheel assembly

  • Im not going to say it is fake but it does look a little wierd. He's turning at different angles, but the shadows dont change, he has the same lighting on him, hhmmm! I bit wierd!!.

  • FLYING LAWNMOWER?

    :-D

  • it's newest 5th generation jet fighter :)

  • какой-то летающий мотоцикл

    молодец человек! )

  • looks like something i'd make :) lol

  • Its tied together with ropes and hot glue. Its got all kinds of shit just flappin around in the wind behind it and stuff. This thing is absolutey awsome.

I give this guy two thumbs up for being ball-sy enough to merely fly it around.

    Major red-beck points.

  • its so fake lol its green screened!

  • @Keithpwnage - Again, I ask the questions:

    1) Have you ever seen a greenscreen up close, let alone are an expert on them?

    2) Have you ever even seen a gyrocopter which has existed since the 1920s and have been in use as recreation aircraft since the 1960s!

Why would you have any reason to doubt such a video?

You might as well claim that a video of a guy driving down the road in his car is fake and done on a greenscreen!

  • Scetchy!!!!

  • Damn! How? what machine(s)?

  • that engine runs great it doesnt seem to need much load to get that thing airborne i want one!

  • LOL ,,, the guy inthe video is GENIUS.. ...

  • Not *one* of the people who keep on claiming this is fake have given any indication as to what is so unbelievable about the common Gyrocopter!

Why would *anyone* even *suspect* this is fake when the gyrocopter has been around since the 1930s!

Why would *anyone* fake something that is easier to do for real?

Have any of the people claiming that it is fake, ever *seen* a green-screen, let alone be an expert on them?

Are you doing it on purpose just to piss people off and stir people up??

  • You'd think after James Bond used one, people would know about it's existence. But apparently the opposite is the case.

I really wonder how people can just ignore those facts.

Well, maybe they were all subjected to a lobotomy...

  • People who claim things are fake are incredibly dumb. If they are joking, then no one finds it funny.

This gyrocopter is really nice. I can tell by how stable it is. If it is a barnstormed gyrocopter then not a bad job.

  • You are so RIGHT....

  • @sierra190 i though the gyrocopter proved to kind of dangerous, can you tell me if i'm wrong, i remeber hearing that the reason no one really uses anymore was because bad manuverability problems, but i could be (badly) mistaken

  • @Hautmanmike - Such is the stigma attached to gyrocopters. In the '20s, they were used extensively but fell from use with the invention of the helicopter that hovers, fly sideways etc.

They're not dangerous, except when poorly built by amateurs & flown by self-taught pilots, as was the case for many decades, leading to crashes & deaths. Laws changed, thus better standards & training requirements.

Not useful as helicopters, mainly used for recreation in a niche sector of aviation.

  • @sierra190 I often wonder the same thing.....trolls I would have to say. I saw folks call fake on a model on a post because it was labeled flying machine...lol...check it out.

Look for "Stirling flying machine 2"...pretty funny......the model is SO cool though!

  • @sierra190 yes

  • @sierra190 Not to mention Ultra-Lights really aren't that uncommon. Of course seeing one in person means you have to leave the basement...

  • Roflmao nice green screen there. I could tell it was Fake

  • Have you ever seen, up-front, in-person:

    a) A green-screen (which you claim that this is or;

    b) A gyrocopter (which, to anyone in the know, this clearly is!)

Like so many who claim this is fake, you have not addressed the simple question:

Why fake something that is easier to do for real?

Look in the "Related video" panels beside and you will see countless other examples of the Gyrocopter.

  • i know about gyros and everything, and this is probably real..but this dude really made it look fake LOL

  • After all the time this video has been on YouTube, I am utterly gob-smacked at the number of people who are still disputing the existence of the Gyrocopter!

Have *any* of you uneducated dolts even bothered to look up "Gyrocopter" on the 'net and seen the countless examples of this aircraft that make it clear that this guy is really only guilty of bad camera placement??

To all of you who insist it's fake, like XICANOXOC, get an education and check your facts before screaming at someone!

  • it sounds like a mower

  • This is not fake. This was a true story in China. this guy is a farmer and he built this autogyro at home and later flew it. But sadly later we heard that he was arrested for flying illegally. How sad that talented people like him are given no chances but accused of doing illegal stuff. We hoped that he would have come out soon and continued his great flying experiments. Later a guy made a home made helicopter and flew successfully taking off in street. He ended up same. Vids were on local site.

  • A successful flying machine, a success and smart gentleman to pull it off like that...aviation and engineering at best. An autogyro has rotor blades carried by a rotor head mounted on a support member rotatable about a pitch axis and independently rotatable about a roll axis for control of the autogyro in pitch and roll respectively.

  • Take some rope and some old metal parts and stick them on the Gyro and you have some Kentucky Ambience added to your ship. I love the rope, its hilarious!

I guess a lot of the comments here came from folks who are ignorant to what an Auto-Gyro is.

Great vid.. Be careful up there..

  • Comment removed

  • AMAZING!!!

  • It's just an Auto Gyro.Not Fake.

  • es una mierda de video el pobre pndejo no tiene imagnacion

  • yea i think its fake how is he steering plus llook behind him if youve ever seen a green screen it looks like thatt.. plus u cant c the wings or anything its rlly sketchy lol.

  • Mabye, but personally I think he just stuck a camera on his Autogyro.

  • Yeah, and the people in the crowd were staring at air I suppose

  • Green screen, cammera on the back of a plane, even a model plane, and a big F-ing fan infront of the guy.

  • If this video was indeed fake, then what do you suppose was used to film the original footage that is background to the incredibly well lit, wind blown and buffeted guy in front of the green screen? Maybe the back ground was all CGI, but wouldn't it be cheaper to like, build a kit-set gryo-copter take some flying lessons? That would be the best way to make a fake video of a guy flying a gyro-copter...

  • Fake

  • CACA, thats a screen behind him .

  • the are thousands of ultralight aircrafe in the allmost all countries in the USA if a plane in under 255 lbs if powered, 155 if not powered and can't carry more then 5 gallons of fuel and can't fly over 55 knots at level fight and i can't remember how high it can go.

Then you do not need a licensees or the plane to be certified to fly.

So why is this fake , because your stupid ?

  • XICANOXOC it's not fake you fool, if you even bothered to look in the related videos to the right you would find more videos relating to this exact machine which is in fact a gyro-copter.

  • Very solid and stable flying push-prop design. Good piloting too. Thats a real wanahave! Would only prefer the throttle on the other side.

  • Looks real fucking safe.

  • @opannefrank

dont trust in that what you see

you need a try and you will see its really fucking safe lol xD

  • @opannefrank HAHHAaaaa.

  • @opannefrank looks can be very deceiving!

  • Its a gyro-copter. With some rope on the front by the camera. The video is real enough. But the plane isnt some cobbled together pile of scraps. It flies well, it may be a kit built one.

  • no greenscreen no nothing complete true!!!!!!

  • I like the helmet

  • Real. Believe it or don't - though it is pretty f*cking unbelievable.

    It's not green-screened. Don't ask how I know.

  • An autogyro I would guess. The hard mounted camera does seem to throw off the perspective but all that i saw would be consistent with one.

  • looked real to me up until the "landing" I didn't notice what appeared to be the gear move what so ever, and the screen or "backdrop" looked more out of focus. I will say however, the shifting of the hands on the control stick was VERY believable ... good job on that!!!
