  • People wearing suits to play the ukulele? HECK YES! Society is redeeming itself.

  • @chanopoop They are a novelty group, and that's part of the humour - the contrast between the formal dress and band name, and the informal instruments and music.

  • @athull08 Yes, I understood as much. I thought it was rather humorous hence why my comment was positive.

  • 59 people dig.

  • I am Brazilian and thank God there is the youtube to enjoy good music, and ukulele, the instrument that is highly valued in Brazil, especially in the rhythms of samba and pagode, but love the sound Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, does not have good music price.

  • @Alexandrebernardi cavaquinho não é ukulele para ser tocado em samba ou pagode... tem uma certa diferença mas o instrumento realmente de alto valor no Brasil, tive que importar o meu e nao arrependo em nenhum momento! abs

  • i want to meet all 8842 of you people

  • Ingenious!!!

  • the ugly has 52 accounts

  • thaaaaank you

  • I reckon Jonty looks like John Simm (that's JOHN not Joan! She's a completely different piece of equipment, to borrow a phrase),

Meanwhile, Will looks like a younger version of Frank Skinner or, maybe, Tanner Foust from Top Gear USA.

And why does George sound so much like Johnny Ball?!!

But, seriously, I've become addicted to these guys over the last couple of days, even ordering the Doovdé and a uke.

    Long may you guys reign.

  • that smile at 3:40 was the cutest thing ever, by any chance someone knows his name?

  • @jadorecoldplay2 The whistling guy? He's Jonty Bankes.

Left to right: David Suich, Peter Brooke-Turner, Hester Goodman, George Hinchliffe, Kitty Lux, Will Grove-White, Jonty Bankes.

There's usually an 8th member, Richie Williams, who sits between George and Kitty.

  • @athull08 thank you very much

  • Excellent!

  • Excellent work.

  • nothing better than american culture music! and i mean coubtry, bluegrass, blues etc, not lady gaga bullshit

  • @correll28 This is an Italian film, with music composed by an Italian. The music is based on Peruvian and Mexican music as much as American.

  • @ojideagu the fuck you talking about? i never mentioned the film, i said american music

  • @correll28 The music is Peruvian and Mexican as much if not more than USA American. If you mean the American continent that's different.

  • @ojideagu i never said usa. american...even when talking about the states...is a very broad and diverse term. mexico and peru are included as it is part of the culture

  • AWESOME!! :D

  • Where I can download mp3?

  • THAT GUITAR...ISNT A UKULELE!

  • @Turbo5Turtle it's a bass guitar, but they jokingly call it a bass ukulele

  • @athull08 yep, it's an acoustic bass guitar

  • @danmusic96 indeed. There is such a thing as a real bass uke, but it's much smaller

  • Wow what a unbelivable version of this song

    Thank you

  • Wish I can whistle like that

  • Entertaing. Very cool stuff!

  • Really wonderful.

  • This is one of the best music for people that love western living and not mention Horses. Good job all you. All of you made my day.

  • 经典音乐重新演绎!支持!

  • fantastic.

  • this was cool, but dont use a pick on a ukulele please

  • @hawaii94 Hi Hawai....When it comes to musical instruments, does there have to be rules?...I mean, if it sounds good, surely it is acceptable, unless it ruins a formal score, like in Classical Music. Didn't many of the greatest sounds of the 20th Century come from experimenting with something different? Not criticising your comment my friend, but just raising an opinion, and sharing a viewpoint...I never was good at keeping the rules. lol

  • Watched them live today :)

  • aii yaiyyyaaaa!!! lol, i liked that part

  • I thought British were dull people

  • @rollercoastersam Dull? You should see my collection of cardigans.

  • Comment removed

  • think if there were just double or triple their number, it'd be mindblowing

  • @Doyoulikeadacheese you need to do more research on the group.

I can instantly tell from your comment that you're taking it FAR too seriously. They are novelty group, ALL their performances are lighthearted, and they always do jokes during performances.

They are not about doing serious covers, they are just about having fun, and proving they can play anything on the ukulele, no matter how seemingly inappropriate.

  • @athull08 I understand that. I have nothing against this group. I think they are a wonderful novelty act and it's interesting that play only the Ukulele, but it just doesn't work for me. I am well aware that they make silly and lighthearted covers of songs, but this is one song that I feel doesn't fit that way. I personally think this song should be more badass and intense sounding. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I hope you can respect mine

  • @Doyoulikeadacheese well, one would also think that Wutheriing Heights by Kate Bush doesn't fit being sung by a man, but that doesn't put anyone off, so I still say you're taking it too seriously.

  • @Doyoulikeadacheese I would respect your opinion if it's justification wasn't so condescending and prejudiced. It's fine to not like something: heck, it's fine to even say the song's ruined by the opening joking, but to back that up with "I guess they can't help it being British and all" is just plain wrong. Imagine if it was "Jazz is too random for me, but I guess they can't help it being black and all." That and that alone is the only reason I was annoyed by your original post.

  • @Aquill0 I can see where you are coming from. That was just my oppinion, but now that I look back on it I can see that I was being a little prejudiced and harsh. I just didn't realize it at the time. I just didn't like all the joking and fooling around that they were doing and I guess I said that the wrong way. I don't even remember why I commented about them being British. Oh well. I'm sorry if I offended you. Hopefully you and and the rest of Youtube can forgive me

  • @Doyoulikeadacheese I just have this to say to you - do not watch a video of a Ukulele band, and expect to see a serious replication of the original song.

  • @Doyoulikeadacheese "They lack the spirit of the west. I guess they can't help it being British and all"- you do know this was written by an Italian?

  • @Aquill0 Ever hear of "Spagetti Westerns?" I an well aware of the Italian influence of western movies during that period, so I'm not surprised by that

  • Hilwa jiddan !

    Véry véry !

    Salut d'Alger.

  • ...tabs?

  • AMAZING!

  • The part after 1:13 is so good that its almost impossible for me to listen to the part before that!

  • ITS the bassist VAN DER SAR, MAN UNTD???

  • @BAIXISTASCHOLES lol, it's Jonty Bankes.

He has often been said to look like John Simm, but never van der Sar :D

  • @athull08 Much like I thought he was the goalkeeper of Manchester United Van der Sar, CAN COMPARE THAT YOU WILL SEE THE LIKENESS

  • Beautiful Music!!

  • This is got to be my favorite arrangement of this tune ever!

  • The only thing that bothers me is that the guy did not whistle it as in the original in 2:50. Otherwise brilliant stuff!

  • GOOD STUFF !

  • The guy that whistles kinda looks like Pee Wee Herman...lol. Good Job Guys =)

  • Was I the last to figure out that the spoken intro ("the plaintive cry...") was borrowed from Pat Boone's early-1960s hit Speedy Gonsalves?

  • Super Awesome!!

    As far as 3:43 ... I couldn't help but laugh...too cute!!

  • LOL at 3:43!!!

  • lol, the guy at 3:40 knew what was comming next, I also would have laughed

Applause for the artists, i loved it!

  • the good the bad and the ukulele

  • What I'd give to be able to whistle like that...

  • @PynkWalkr Yeah, he is terrific. A while back someone was asking about the words to the song...original in movie:

Go go go migo Go go go migo Go go migo Go go go

Aaaaa Go go go go go... Aaaaa Go migo Aaaaa Go migo Aaaaa

    Aaaaa

    Aaaaa Migo go go...
