  • crysis looks better :P

  • @capownz Yes, yes it does.

  • This + Outerra = <3

  • what the hell is this? cloud system for what? crysis has pretty good volumetric clouds dont you know

  • @gobacktorussia Its a cloud SIMULATOR you idiot, its not for a game, read the description ffs.

  • woooow

  • OMG must have!

  • Great!

  • Fantastic!!! Sorry, where I can download it????

  • That looks frickin amazing. Even the ground doesn't look believable.

    Wait, so is this out?

  • This system is used in a game named Allaince: The Silent War, the game isn't released yet (which I fiend very sad :( ) becoase its not done and they paused the development.. I realy want to see it in that game. The game is a FPS.

  • best real time volumetric clouds i have ever seen!

this would be awesome technology to have an a flying game or in a game like "Just Cause" where theirs skydiving

  • would it be easier to make a proffesional looking game if i where to integegrate lot of different physics engines into a games engine?

  • @Traceurb - Easier than performing brain surgery on yourself, perhaps.

You'd also have to get all the art together, pay for all the professional physics like this, and the programmers....

And actually have a game idea, too.

  • Droolz. AH I wish SL had that.

  • Wow better than the Alpha version of Second Life 2.0

See it in 2009 in Second Life 2.0 Finalversion. Wow

  • Does that matter so much to you? I guess you don't see what we see so I'll just leave it at that.

  • There's not much to see. As long as we're using textures, nothing can be completely authentic.

  • Crysis..."gameplay"? You mean just walking around and shooting people in the face? I hardly call that special, considering the concept of walking around with your 'cameraperson' and shooting them in the face has been since the very beginnings of the game industry. And your trying to make a point that the huge revolutionary steps taken towards attaining realism in worlds is not much of a bother that your comparing it against a decade old concept of your so called 'gameplay'.

  • Beautiful!

  • This is what volumetric clouds should look like. Now if only they can make the terrain spherical (iow, planets)..

  • Windward Mark Interactive's site seems to be down. Anyone know if this is commercially available yet??

  • Can't wait for this to be wired into SL...

  • Holy shit, is that real time?! If it is then DAAAAAMMNNNNNN

  • amen.

  • Cool, I'm currently trying to make clouds in Blender. I guess the people who would appreciate those images the most are people who have tried doing that themselves, theres no other way you can know how difficult it is.

  • exciting

  • it will be in " Second Life " ! cool news !

  • Totaly.. KICK ASS!! Windmark's defently made somthing totaly amazing.

  • wow this would look great in a game..

  • The video is beautiful. The issue is that they are trying to sell this technology into the Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) community. DIS requires geo specific imagery, geo specific elevation data, very large dynamic entity counts (i.e., 50,000), a far horizon of between 100 and 200 kilometers, and for flight simulation, a geocentric coordinate system. It is fine to make stand alone demos but a wholly different matter to fully integrate such a feature into a full up flight simulator.

  • holy poo that looks yum - whats the framerates and does it do cloud evolution/ morphing or just movement.

  • That's amazing, but what purpose does it serve?

  • wow
