The guy deserves to be bricked up in a room with nothing but a linux computer and a microsoft compatible wireless internet adapter, throw him in at the deep end with coding and platform incompatibility issues and he'll never worry about using a computer again.
I'm not going to give the old "he has to adapt sometime"-speech but mistakes are just as easily made on paper. Modern programs ask for confirmation every time you make a change and I think he would be surprised how comfortable working with a computer can be.
