@TheIDivineI 1) I think she was too shock and distraught about her daughter turning, she couldn't think straight.
2) This was the first zombie movie ever, so some "zombie rules" were just being laid down. Romero has some liberties some people wouldn't agree about zombies today.
3) They probably thought they boarded it enough. She waited to help because she was traumatized and depressed, but finally got to her senses...only to lose 'em again when she sees her brother.
And there it is, the gruesome trowel stabbing that will probably haunt me until my dying day. Something about the fact that she uses a weapon has always made the whole thing seem worse, as though there's an extra level of sadism involved.
Today was the first time I've ever seen this whole movie,my uncle told me it was a very good movie and I saw it was on tv so I decided to watch it.I loved this movie soooo much!!I like how it's black and white :D I am 13 and I was actually really scared, and I'm not afraid to admit it lol.5 stars this movie is a classic,I really want to watch it again!
Hold it right there movie. Johnny shouldn't be able to return from the dead because of how he died: a blunt impact to the head. We already established that they die because of thet.
He didn't knock it on the ground. He hit it going with the force of gravity against a stone tombstone. If he didn't die from the impact, then chances are he still has a good concusion, maybe even internal hemorraging in his brain. You try taking a fall like that and just fainting.
Furthermore,, we see no other wounds on him. Therefore, we must believe that Johnny died from the only would we saw him take, a cranial injury.
That little girl looked so scary before she kills her mother. Perspective shots in horror films are sure something else. To this day, I still wonder if Romero has an extended cut of Barbara's death. If there is a scene of her actually getting eaten and ripped apart, then I'll pay big to see it. ; )

Sorry, but I actually didn't like this movie.
1) Why did the woman just lay down and scream?
2) Why would a zombie have the intelligence to pick up a trowel and stab the living crap out of the woman? It's way beyond a zombies intelligence.
3) If the other woman had a spare board, why didn't she put it up in first place?
Rather than wait until all the zombies had a hold over her friend.

yea i agree but maybe he was only knocked out when he hit the tombstone...so the other zombies ate him a little bit and BOOM zombiefied
jazzmusprime 3 years ago
@TheThreadWeaver but he only fainted. He didn't die for knocking the head on the ground.
