that is cool. Obviously you wouldn't be able to feel texture but using sound waves or even precisely controlled air pressure is a fantastic idea. Simple idea yet amazing. And as for the rain drop thing you could use an array of water jets and pressure control to do that but you missed the point. If this is real or not it is totally possible you just need a lot of precision and multiple sound emitters
It sucks. There is an simple logic of holograph dude! If you are putting your hands within the holographic image, your fingers must get luminated by obstructed light rays. One more thing you've simulated that you are moving the object by your hands, but one stupid thing can be easily caught, that the camera is also moving along with your hands, when you are moving the object. How can
Not very clever, the "projectors" at the top on the left and right are just Nintendo Wiimotes. You can see the arm band still attached to the controllers =/
The OP or video creator ain't too clever are they - it is nothing more than a virtual image and an identical example has existed in th London museum for maybe 50 years or so, possibly more!
@tgoddard1988 Were not talking movies.... this is holography. You are thinking something from Star Wars, which is holography, but not the same type displayed in this video.
Whoa.

One step closer to a virtual reality experience that I would pay huge sums for. Very Very cool.

This is done using a combination of lights and glass, every now and then, hasn't the light coming from glass seemed 3d?
Also, you can't actually feel the raindrops -_-
Yeah, I have a setup like this, except minus the wii motes and tracking, it projects an image through a trick in the light.

@fligglegiggleman Yes you can you can feel the patting down from the air but your hands are not going to get wet.

Oops i made a mistake. I just watched the news and they said that the wii motes are used to track the users hand movement

Fucking fake. The wii remotes at the back is obvious.

@ge2298 You're an idiot. They flat out tell you that they're using wiimotes.
