Maybe the autoplay does not start in Vista but you can override it and manually install the game starting the file "a.exe" you can find on the DVD. Then it is suggeted to apply the last known official pathc (v.4.08) or try and install the unofficial (modded) patch v.4.09M. Have fun with it....

well theres alot of expansions etc. if you want the best just get 1946 which is the one with the jet on the front, it comes with all of them and its like 10USD off steam so it aint too much

Either the game is doing that (Turbulance, ect.) or your joystick (Assuming your using one) is loose and isn't sitting straight.

Yup, it's probably your joystick. Calibrate or find another one (I've had mine for a year, and I got it used for $3... it's awesome!).

Propellers cause single-engined planes to rotate. That's why I was asking.

i think i found the problem... its probably my steering wheel... its for some reason stays on like im pressing the accelerate and brake (in cars) pedals and the wheel steers left even when its centered

Il2 graphics are very good considering it's over 7 years old. Il2 is a combat flight simulator, not your run of the mill blow stuff up for fun game like ArmA, Il2's main focus is realistic flight and damage model as well as being historically correct.

the graphics look better in the actual game as the frame rates are smoother and if you add anti aliasing it looks pretty crisp too.

its still a very old engine and still extremely dated looked after maxing out everything you can think of. This is the ultimate package though, it contains everything in the series on a dvd (over 6 years was it?). This is by far the best package you will find (and the last of the series), I just can't wait for Storm of War to be released, I might just have to buy a x52 pro for that one.

Hell yeah IL-2 sturmovik 1946! Best plane in game on easy is ME-163 COMET! rock on flight simulators. this is a classic example of an old school game. Need a joystick though. They will never make a game this BIG (mission and landscape wise).
