  • I was stationed at Misawa AFB from 1963 to 65. I was a Lt. USAF Nurse Corps, the only Nurse Anesthetist, in fact the only anesthesia provider at the base hospital. Is anyone still around that was there then? My BOQ apartment mate was Ralph Lalime. Those were wonderful PARTY days....In fact I have some pictures of the parties, some include Terry Griffy(sp?) A fighter pilot who went down in Vietnam does anyone know where his family is located?

  • am trying to reach my relatives in hakodate japan phone lines seem to be down can anyone reply as status

  • I was stationed there from 2005-2008, we used to run down that hill and back up the northside hill then turn around and run it reverse. I miss that whole area so much!!

  • I lived in Misawa for 3 years from 1998 - 2001. I'm itching to get back. I had the time of my life there even though I complained some of the time I was there.

  • i've driven downthat same road. i lived and north area tower 1939 for two years then moved to main base tower 117. i liked north area better :)

  • hmm. Glad to know people liked it there. :D Cause I might be moving there at the end of the summer.

But I'll miss my friends. :[ is the school system weird? Cause I don't want to have to repeat 8th grade if the school system is different there. :\ that happened to a friend of mine who came from alaska. and his school system was different.

  • @LAZYTARD Hey, lol so ur going to 9th grade next year if u come to misawa,? well im going to 8th grade next year..and i dont think ur gonna have to repeat 8th grade unless your stupid. lol

  • Damn, this brings back memories. I remember going down that same road and looking at the beach. And there was also a hill at the end of that road I believe it was called "Suicide Hill" where I would just look down at the sunset.

  • I was borned there in miswaw my dad been there for 7 years I been there 4 years my mom been there in japan for her hole life

  • I think one thing I miss most was going down 'Green Pole' street (that's what we called it, hehe) and getting ice cream at Naga-Sakia (sp?)

  • I live there from 91 to 94... greatest time of my life...i miss misawa ...i will go back some day.

  • Wow brings back memories of when I was 13 living there :)

  • Its snows every winter right?

  • This really reminds me of the good old days :)

  • I can't tell you how many times I saw cars spun out here in the winter.. good times.

  • i lived in main base i luved it there got orders to Mountain Home AFB must rather still be in MISAWA i miss it alot

  • Concrete Canyon!

  • You'll definitely miss the food. I can't believe it's snowin' that much already. Best time is during the summer... Great view while hittin' a few at the driving range up top the base beach road.

  • you live in the north area of misawa afb?

i lived in tower 212 near the gate. I wish i never moved to travis afb.

  • Actually I don't live on base. I'm a civilian contracter working for the base. So when did you live at Misawa? Is Travis that bad?

  • I moved to misawa air base in 1998 to somewhere in april in the year 2007. Travis is not a bad base its just that i liked it in misawa air base better cause I lived there for so long and I had allot of friends there.

  • Thats cool to hear you liked it here. Most people tell me they hate this place and that they are glad to leave here. I gotta admit, there ain't much around here but it's not a bad place. Nice and peaceful here.

  • As a kid, it's a amazing. So many things to do as a kid. Catch dragonflies, and stuff. Snow fights. Lots of hills for sledding, and going fast on bikes/roller blades. Best time of my life. Festivals just off base, and good food. LOTS of other people to play with because the population/housing is so close together.(towers, etc.) Loved it there.

  • i agree. as a kid it was my happiest momment. i'd like to go back and see what things are like now. i lived there for 2 years.
