  • Why are people saying this was an out of line cheap shot? I've seen people who've never voted in their lives register just so they can vote for Obama. And when you ask why they support him, "it's about time we got a black president!" And while I do agree that it's about time, do that mean any black man will do? Sorry, but I need to here something of more substance than "I support him because he's black."

By the same token, OJ killed two people. ; )

  • I like Maher, but he's way out of line here! Way out of line!

  • Of course you can. If the police invent evidence against you, its framing even if you happen to be guilty.

  • your arguement makes no sense. why make up evidence if you know one is guilty? the factual evidence alone is enough to present and convict. as atitallone said it only hurt the prosecutions case by introducing nonfactual evidence.

  • Comment removed

  • Look to be honest I have no real opinion as to whether they framed him or not. My point was it is possible to be guilty and still get framed. Why would the prosecution do it? Stupidity? Or perhaps they didnt have evidence to convict him even though guilty so they make some.

I am not saying they did. But as a rational person you cannot argue being guilty and being framed are mutually exlusive. Because they are not.

  • well for one thing u may believe in ur gut that this person is guilty butbut the evidennce u have is circumstantial or likely be ripped apart in court so then u being a person who believes he desrves jail may concut evidence that would potentially put the guilty man away it happens all the time

  • exactly....thats why OJ got off, because they planted shit to "make sure" he was found guilty, and by doing that they put doubt into play with all the actual evidence that they had against him. Completly the cops fault

  • gotcha. well they shoulda just stuck with the real evidence against OJ which was enough to convict. BUT... i doubt no matter how much real evidence they had against him.. the jury they had was never going to find him guilty and serve justice in this matter. one afro american woman had about a 3rd grade education on a dbl homicide murder trial? they all thought they were gonna party with OJ with a not guilty verdict. now OJ is finally paying his time for a dbl. crime he got away with.

  • Well Obama only has 97% of the black vote wrapped up... lol, still room for improvement!

  • I don't think it's a bad analogy at all. When you're stuck under a minority category it's only human nature to rally behind each other in defense against the majority. Though I'm certainly not defending such behavior. But yes, blacks are rallying behind Obama without knowledge of his views just as they rallied behind OJ without knowledge of his crimes.

  • How the hell do you frame a guilty person???

  • Its possible, you can make up fake evidence or testomy to frame someone, it might turn out there are guilty anyway but its still framing

  • Yeah. Didn't you ever see Touch of Evil?

  • Put it like this: If it's a choice between Clinton, McCain or Obama, it's Obama every time. It's not like you're spoiled for choice. A fat redneck, a dried up old hag (who's personal policy when it comes to her husband is hilarious) or Obama.

And no, I'm not voting, I live in the UK now. But if I DID vote...

  • Most people who are throwing their support behind Obama have no idea where he stands on the issues. Ask one person witha Obama 08 bumper sticker and see. All they say is "Bush sux" or "I want change". Be careful what you wish for people, don't just vote for hime because he is black, see what is hot buttons are and you just might change your mind. I don't give a rip what color he is, the man does not have a real plan or the experience to make one on his own.

  • That was a pretty accurate analogy. Black Americans knew O.J. was guilty, but celebrated after he was found not guilty because finally a black man beat the white judicial system. It was all about black vs. white and this is what this election is turning out to be in many African-American's eyes. You can not deny that many, many blacks are going to vote for Obama simply because he has a similar skin tone to them. To me he's just a young, articulate politician.

  • completly wrong. i think that statment would be better tested if a black republican had run. The fact is black people 99.999% of the time are going to vote democrat. Now because of Obama more black people may go out and vote (but i cant see how its bad that the people actual vote instead of sit around) and even if every black person in america had voted for him, he still would not have won without support of whites and latins. Its not like black is the majority in this country lol

  • Right on Bill. Your analogy is correct.

  • '

94% of AA's backed OJ and 94% back Obama

    '

  • That was despicable, Bill. You fucking Cunt. NOOOW I know what I hate this pig... undercover racist prick.

  • Err.. wot??

  • Racist prick???? You do know that Bill Maher has a black girlfriend right?

  • Oj is fucking innocent.

  • There was a black candidate last time around and most blacks did not support him. His name is Al Sharpton. He won absolutely no states and did not garner the majority of the black vote.

The only other black candidate to win a state was Jesse Jackson in 1984 and 1988 and I think he won one state. So, Obama is different. Also, 90% of blacks supported Gore and Kerry does that mean that blacks also like robotic white people.

    I think so, lol

  • No, not really. Although I do have great respect for both Revs. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, they had about as much chance at getting the presidency as a snowball does existing in Hell. Obama is something NEW, and that is what the voters want.

  • "New" is enough?

"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong." ---Barack Obama (Dead people in the audience?)

"I had a uncle [sic] who was one of the... who was part of the first American troops to go into Auschwitz and liberate the concentration camps." ---Barack Obama (whose uncle must have fought for Stalin's Red Army, the actual liberators of Auschwitz)

  • Is that a dis or a crack?

  • I'll bet you that most blacks wouldn't vote for Alan Keyes over John McCain. Alan Keyes is black and John McCain is white. Take a survey and see what I'm talking about. When blacks support Obama, it's not about skin color. This guy is talking about more careful policies on the part of our country to save it from the threats (immigration, terrorism, war etc). Who wants to live under such a threat because we handle the world situations with an arrogant, reckless abandon?

  • Except only McCain is a maverick and Keyes is a clueless dick. Obama is something no one expected: a progressive.

  • So, to say that blacks are voting for Barack because they think, because of their race, they have the right to rule others; or they foster a doctrine, system of government that discriminates (there is only one black senator in the senate right now and he is only the 3rd black senator in the history of the US); blacks don't make the laws; or promoting intolerance of another race when blacks are fighting for peace and fairness is absurd. Blacks would vote McCain over Alan Keyes based on policy.

  • According to the dictionary, racism is defined as such; 1) a belief or a doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others. 2) a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination. 3) hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

  • Blacks tend to vote heavily democratic; not for a race. How could blacks vote for a black candidate when there are rarely a black to vote for? Blacks still vote even though most candidates in all elections are white. Would you call that racism? Most blacks would most likely never vote for Clarence Thomas if he were running for president against a democratic white candidate. Barack is simply a better candidate than Hillary to most blacks. Race doesn't determine willingness to help others.

  • that was a cheap shot by bill, the black people who were guests should have said something

  • @Heatherocks its tough to overcome the truth.

  • Is American too stupid to realize the truth? The TRUTH is that the racism is impossible to eliminated. If you are white people, why don't you send your child to a school full of black children??

  • Racism is not out of necessity. It's comes from ignorance. If, by your statement, you mean that we will never be rid of stupidity, I would have to agree. I will not accept that racism HAS to exist, though.

  • Who is that dunce saying OJ is a framed and guilty man? Anybody knows?

  • Who cares?

  • Bill is so smart pointing out why African Americans vote dominantly for Obama, which is almost 90%. What is called racism? Racism is judging people not by his/her own characteristics, but by his/her skin color.

  • What do you say about blacks voting when there are only white candidates (which is 99% of the time)? Blacks don't forfeit their right to vote because there isn't a black candidate. They still vote for a candidate based on policies / agenda. It turns out that most blacks think that Obama is better than Hillary. Hillary even uses race against Barack to scare white voters. She believes that many whites won't vote for Barack because he's black. It actually works. Now that's racism.

  • @anewprez So blacks still support Obama's wars, warrentless wiretaps, prolonged detention, corporate welfare at 91% in a recent poll?

You can't tell me that the "issues" matter to a lot of black people. I am not calling them racist, but they sure as hell are not paying attention to the fact that Obama has continued Bush's policies for the most part. At least when it comes to financial policy, and foreign policy--Which is all I really care about.

  • @anewprez black people voted for obama simply because he is black we all know it to deny it is ignorant. Does this make me racists? no, it makes me think that its said that the only way to get blacks politically active is not by edcuating them on the facts but by waving a false flag of hope and a black president in front of them

  • @anewprez There were interviews with blacks where they flipped the policies of McCain and Obama and asked them which politician they preferred. Guess who they still chose.

  • That statement Bill made about blacks and OJ as it relates to voting for Barack was ignorant. Whoa, I had no idea that Bill was that simplistic in his thinking. If Barack were white, asian or latino he would be a great candidate worthy of the support that he's currently received. Race is definitely not the issue where it concerns black voters.

  • Race is not an issue? What are you talking about? 90%+ vote for Barack from a particular category? Dude, OJ would have carried South Carolina again Clinton. Please.

  • that was cheap by bill, bit dissapionted that he used the tactics he so readily criticizes...

  • ummm what?.... compared oj with obama what the fuck

  • bill maher is a jackass

  • its unfortunate that after all this time, people still think that all black people think the same ways.....thats ridiculous and its dangerous thinking that does nothing but promote ignorance. even though i know what he was trying to say, his delivery was weak.

  • First step and second step is true. The third is not..

  • Everyone search "OJ Simpson - Hillary in 2008!"

  • Every time there is an African-American discussion Bill brings up OJ,this isn't new. Its like that word association game, for example lets play a round with Bill:

    Me:Oranges

    Bill:Juice

    Me: Bloody Gloves

    Bill:First Aid

Me: Black People that arent OJ Simpson

    Bill: OJ SIMPSON!!!!!!!!

    Me: STFU!!

  • that was a really stupid comment made by Bill. I sure hope he acknowledges what he did. he obviously needs his writers back.

  • brain fart.

  • we all know Bill says something stupid once in a while, it's normal for all tv personalities who don't have a script. Except for Fox that says stupid things either way.

  • Bill Maher is always right. People don't know that Hussein Obama is a closet Republican. Bill Maher always genius.

  • Sorry Bill, that was idiotic!

  • Bill seems to have a bad habit of thinking he's being blunt, when he's actually just being an idiot.

  • Bill is great but that was a really dumb analogy.

  • I would vote for him if I was black too. Maher does say at the end that he's a good candidate. This one's controversial like a lot of Maher stuff, but this time it's not as smart.

    Belzer's right, "bad analogy."
