I'm biased too mate. There are plenty of versions of this aria that are technically better than Mario's. But his is THE version, the 1949 one, that I consider the definitive

Si no erro¡ es el tenor que abordo mas cantidad de personajes, y el que ha cantado en mas idiomas, eso de por si ya lo hace uno de los tenores mas grandes de la historia.
Es impresionante, porque siendo el una ópera italiana él lo canta perfectamente bien, no suena del todo hermoso, no tiene ese característico para la ópera italiana (de varios roles), claro no tiene ese timbre brillante de un Pavarotti, pero es Gedda, un gran músico y un artista multifacetico, me encanta.

very lyric sound. a bit too light, but certainly not bad. dislike the thinned high C. otherwise, pretty good.

I agree was not his best high C, some of the live Gedda 'Che gelidas' I have a C at the end that is so glorious I could just die.
