I'm not sure you understand the atheist position. But, yes, agnostic is the safer title to give yourself. Saying "I don't know" is more humble. But I am as sure that god does not exist as I am sure there is not a giant teapot in orbit around Jupiter, or unicorns, toothfairies, pots of gold at the end of the rainbow, or a bogeyman under my bed. There are some things that cannot be proven, but are reduced to absurdity over time.
The agnostic and atheistic positions are not mutually exclusive. You can be an agnostic atheist. Someone who lacks belief in god, and who also isn't sure if he exists or not.
It's kind of like 'all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares'.
Eventually, agnostics may come to a point where they ask theselves, 'Why am I keeping a place holder open for this belief when I don't for so many others of equally low evidence?' If fear is the only answer, they have unfinished business to attend to concerning the subject.

Given the vastness of space and the improbability of intelligent life ever evolving you can conclude A) there has to be a God because our existence too improbable to be an accent or B) there is no God because mathematical laws of averages allow for everything to happen eventually given enough time and space
This is the best proof God DOES exist. Look at the millions of other planets that we CAN see, and is there another like earth? Look at how barren all the other billions of planets are (That we CAN see), then look at earth.

We have detected planets in other solar systems because their gravity causes the light from the star to "wobble" but we have yet to see one because they are invisible in the immense light the star produces and also because we have yet to build a telescope capable of viewing such small distant objects.
I think our galaxy and the universe may be full of life, unfortunatley the distances between us are too vast, a radio message to our nearest neighbours would take thousands of years to arrive. that is a long conversation!
Another know-it-all. Science knows more about space than they do about our OCEANS. In space has anyone, EVER, seen any living object? We can look millions of miles into space. Have we seen one single "UFO"

i have an experiment for those that believe life cannot exist out of nothing to prove them wrong. :)
step 1: get a glass jar wich can be airsealed.
step 2: boil water like enough times untill all life in it is dead
step 3: put the water without air in the sterilized jar
step 4: put the jar in direct sunlight
result: after only a few days, new life can be spotted with a microscope, so it proves life CAN exist out of nothing :)
