@PurpleGreen420 I think it's not the cigarettes that are so addictive...it's the additives like arsenic that your body gets addicted to. But yes, it's well known that it's harder for smokers to quit- maybe because the habit is more social or has less stigma than a needle, or just the action on the brain. I actually knew an ex-junkie that kicked it, but couldn't quit smoking and he insisted it was more addictive than heroin. Heroin is still highly addictive, but still no.2.
Nobody has the right to tell me what to do with my body as long as I'm not harming anyone else or suppressing their ability to act freely. I don't even smoke pot, but it shouldn't be a government issue. Regardless, pot isn't going away anytime soon; it's foolish to criminalize the use of a plant anyway. The government needs to stop trying to protect citizens from themselves and realize the unintended consequences of illegality. Anyone that thinks pot is more harmful than alcohol is misinformed.
Private prisons use people arrest for drugs to make helmets and other products we use in war for oil and pay them 90 cents an hour instead of paying Americans a real wage to do it. Is marijuana safe? No. Marijuana can cause a lot of long term brain problems and has between 50% and 70% more tar and cancer causing chemicals (when smoked) than tobacco. Is Marijuana a gateway drug? No, peer pressure leads to harder drugs not the drug itself. Should marijuana be legal? YES!!! we waste billions of dollars arresting people who sell or posses a small amount of pot, that's stupid, I would never try pot, but I believe it's people right to do so if they choose to do that!

It's a plant that has been used for over a 3000 years, and in comparison to other drugs, supplements, or vitamins that can kill you in excessive amounts, pot is harmless. Example for a 150 lb human: 1.8 lbs vitamin-C can kill you, marijuana: 46 pounds of flower, or 10 pounds of hash...
@gunfuego last time I checked even biggest stoner couldn't eat or smoke that much, and if you did attempt to eat it you'd only get through 1-3 pounds at the most then fall a sleep. You can't get cancer from eating or properly vaporizing . But smoking it you can because anything that burns can cause cancer.

Compared to when I'm driving to work, I am much more relaxed, conscious of people around me, and I am a defensive driver. People should get off this racket about how a high driver is more dangerous than a drunk driver... couldnt be further from the truth.
But I agree, legalized pot will probably suck. Be filled with who knows what to make it addictive just like tobacco. It'll also probably be lower than mids quality.

Pot is just as easy to get ahold of as alcohol is. It's way easier for kids to get weed than alcohol too since you'd have to know someone over 21 to get it. I can go get an 8th right now just as easily as going to the store and buying beer.
I support medical marijuana for people who need it. I don't see anything wrong with people smoking it occasionally at parties or with friends, but it can become addictive to people. Some people need to smoke it several times a day, that's when it's an addiction. It can cause serious paranoia (happened to me) and it's linked with schizophrenia for some people.

I smoke every day, a couple times a day. I go for weeks at a time without smoking simply because I am working too much, and don't feel the need. You should check your facts. I always said there were good arguments for legalization as well as against. @PurpleGreen420 I think it's not the cigarettes that are so addictive...it's the additives like arsenic that your body gets addicted to. But yes, it's well known that it's harder for smokers to quit- maybe because the habit is more social or has less stigma than a needle, or just the action on the brain. I actually knew an ex-junkie that kicked it, but couldn't quit smoking and he insisted it was more addictive than heroin. Heroin is still highly addictive, but still no.2.

I don't even smoke pot, but it shouldn't be a government issue. Regardless, pot isn't going away anytime soon; it's foolish to criminalize the use of a plant anyway. It has also been proven that THC and other chemicals in marijuana increase your heart rate by as much as 50%, which can raise your heart attack risk by 5x.
Expanding lung capacity has nothing to do with the fact that marijuana smoke causes onsets of emphysema, which too has been proven.

@SmokingEssy7887 I'm guessing you don't use marijuana do you? Comparing pot to morphine is like comparing tea to methamphetamine. You can ingest, vaporize, smoke, make balms, salves, and soaps. It's a plant that has been used for over a 3000 years, and in comparison to other drugs, supplements, or vitamins that can kill you in excessive amounts, pot is harmless. Example for a 150 lb human: 1.8 lbs vitamin-C can kill you, marijuana: 46 pounds of flower, or 10 pounds of hash...

@gunfuego last time I checked even biggest stoner couldn't eat or smoke that much, and if you did attempt to eat it you'd only get through 1-3 pounds at the most then fall a sleep. You can't get cancer from eating or properly vaporizing . But smoking it you can because anything that burns can cause cancer.

I drive 40miles a day... I smoke while driving home.
Compared to when I'm driving to work, I am much more relaxed, conscious of people around me, and I am a defensive driver. People should get off this racket about how a high driver is more dangerous than a drunk driver... couldnt be further from the truth.
But I agree, legalized pot will probably suck. Be filled with who knows what to make it addictive just like tobacco. It'll also probably be lower than mids quality.

I support medical marijuana for people who need it. I don't see anything wrong with people smoking it occasionally at parties or with friends, but it can become addictive to people. Some people need to smoke it several times a day, that's when it's an addiction. It can cause serious paranoia (happened to me) and it's linked with schizophrenia for some people.

I smoke every day, a couple times a day. I go for weeks at a time without smoking simply because I am working too much, and don't feel the need. You should check your facts. I did, my first time smoking weed was with him, in the safety of our house, not out on the street. I can trust him with my life and all it's secrets. Because of his honesty with me, I make better decisions in life and strive to be like the man he is. Further more I started when I was 12, I'm 21 now and maybe smoke twice a year. What kind of example are you setting? Any young person reading this board would think that when you grow up, it's good to smoke POT, and that we should put down anybody who dares speak up against it! Is THAT what you want? I should hope not!!! Take a stand and make a difference in the world!

Smoking Pot is not Harmfull no one has shown it to be harmfull and putting people in jail for a substance that isn't harmfull is just crazy.if adults want to smoke pot they should have every right to do so without worrying about being put into a cage.

@cindybin2001 you can say that you have read it some where but please show me where you get your information. because i got mine from the cdc.gov website and the Fact is that no one dies from smoking Pot that is a fact. tylenol kills people cofee kill people. you can even die from drinking to much water but POT DOES NOT KILL. anyone saying it does is just lying.

@StriveforTrueFreedom And yes, it IS the fault of pot smokers, all this crime and violence associated with the cartels. It's called supply and demand. If people would jsut shape up and NOT SMOKE POT, we wouldn't have any of this violence, would we? There would be no demand for marijuana, because people would have the morals and common sense to know not to use DRUGS to relax and unwind, get "buzzed" and "high", etc. What a thing to do. I never have smoked pot! Nobody ever even OFFERED it to me!

@StriveforTrueFreedom And anyway, as I've said a billion times, I never used to care one way or the other about the legal issue. I always said there were good arguments for legalization as well as against. My focus has always been to help people understand why we shouldn't use drugs such as marijuana and alcohol to relax and unwind and enjoy life. That's what we all should focus on! Then the whole legal issue would be moot!

@StriveforTrueFreedom But as I've also said, when I've been very angry, is that after talking to pot smokers online for ten years, I'm more against marijuana than ever and think that it should be illegal forever!!! Of course I'm just one person and I'm sure not going to change the law. Just because I get mad and say that pot should be illegal forever doesn't mean it's going to happen. Ha, I could just see the headline: "Pot is Illegal Forever Because of Cindybin!" Hahah.

@StriveforTrueFreedom As I've said before, when you type on the World Wide Web that you smoke pot, you HAVE to expect reaction. You have to expect that there will be people who are appalled, shocked, sickened and saddened and will want to try and help talk some sense into you. I don't anything about you other than what you typed here on the Internet. I wouldn't know you smoked pot if you hadn't told us all. But now I know, and I have to speak up!

ANd it's terrible you would use alcohol. And even in low doses, alcohol significantly increases the risk of breast cancer in women, along with liver and rectum cancer. Haven't you read my many blog articles about this?? We shouldn't use alcohol at all! It's a drug, and it's unhealthy.

@cindybin2001 I don't really know about you, but my view on health is subjective. Driving is unhealthy. Studies prove that too much driving can lead to death in many cases. Still I do it, but I don't use heroin despite the knowledge that it's unhealthy. I'm not looking to like to be 120, I'm looking to live happily and comfortably. And you are looking to have everyone live like you want them to, sorry but that's not America.

@StriveforTrueFreedom So you would actually take a woman out for martinis? As I've said, alcohol EVEN IN LOW DOSES, greatly increases the risk of breast and other cancers for women. I've written tons of blogs about this and tons of posts! Yet I STILL see people who use alcohol! And even if alcohol were healthy it doesn't make it right! People really need to grow up and not use DRUGS to enjoy life, relax and unwind, etc. What a thing to do.

Just because God put it on this Earth does NOT mean we should light up a joint, smoke it, and get "buzzed" or "high". What a thing to do. And as I said, I never smoked pot in HS or college and I was NOT religious back then, either. This has nothing to do with religion. It's just common sense.
