Sophie is always kind of unbearable, but Mark is such a dick in this episode. If he has no idea how to have a good time, that's his problem, but he shouldn't hang around and kill everyone else's buzz. If he doesn't have a sense of fun or adventure, he should stop chasing a girl who does. It makes the character pathetic. And not in a loveable way; in a 'god, what a pathetic wanker' way.

Yah, but like I say, there's a difference between being endearingly pathetic and objectionably pathetic. Mark is the uptight, repressed half of the odd couple. That can be both funny and endearing in a character, but there's a balance to be struck between being being endearingly flawed and objectionably flawed. In my opinion, the balance was tipped too far towards the latter in this episode.
