This has to be the most underrated Christmas song in the world. The passion in the vocals and the drums is amazing. It's sad to think that the richness in the sound of these oldies will never be replicated in modern music. I love the sound of the raw production and the crackling sound in the good old vinyl.
@AstralRaven1928 This song has the best fade out of any song of its era.
It says something that Phil, neurotic control freak as he was, would let Hal Blaine improvise at the end of songs. Leon Russell to. Both made these songs hits too.
@AstralRaven1928 Could not agree more, amazing sound. Phil was a tortured genius, but a total genius for all that. Don't just keep Bob B Soxx for Chrismas tho :-)
the cool thing is about this song is that it can pass for a christmas song and just a song for all occasions because the lyrics dont tlk about the holidays at all its juat about love. i always thought thats what is so great about his song
Phil Spector's "Wall of sound"! This Christmas album is great! He had lot of wonderful talent in his studio. Too bad he turned out to be such a freak!
merry christmas to all and a happy new year
