I have 3 beautiful dogs that I love with my life. As much as I love them I do not dress them up or anything of that nature, because they are not toys or barbies so I simply let them be. I have caught them on video doing silly things, but is their doing... Not induced by me or my partner. Some of those videos are things are things that our animal companions do, but most are set up by us and is it cruel and unthoughtful. Would you do it to your mom or sister? They are a component of our families.

This IS abuse, because animals aren't toys or objects. An animal belongs to themself, not to their human companion. If this is a spoof, it's a bad one, because one must truly be responsible and truly have the time and space for an animal friend. If you don't have the means to provide a true home, then you don't have the right to invite an animal into your life. This stuff isn't innocent fun. It's twisted, dangerous and mean. If this is what it's about for you, then you don't truly care enough.

I've been rescuing animals for nearly 16 years,and have seen enough abused and mangled pets than I ever thought I would. I could only imagine that a lot of other people felt the same when they saw the original commercial,wanting to turn the channel instead of helping in any kind of way. I get the message that they were sending but the pictures were an unnecessary public display. In general,those of us who care knows that this happens,so why state captain obvious.
