Ive always wondered why near flawless videos like this get dislikes. I understand that it boils down to opinion, but at least say why you feel that way. This is the best cover I've seen, and I will admit SOME parts in here were played BETTER than Wootens (in my mind). I really admire this guys dedication to his instrument. I don't know if this is goin to make sense for anyone... I've found this tune to be one where you can play it note for note and in perfect time and it will not sound right. There's that element of groove and feel that you still that can't be taught with sheet music. Its not what he's playing, its how he's playing it thats great!

Heh...had few quick questions; how do you train to do stuff like this? Picked up bass about a year ago and I'm decent at it but the slap bass stuff is so freakin' hard! first how do you not hurt your fingers?? is there an easy way to set your hand and hit the strings? do you have any general tips on how to improve my technique? Had been looking to find someone good but still learning to ask advice from. If you find any time to read this, would be great if you could help.

@writingheresucks It all comes with practice, one year is awfully little time, Victor can play the way he does cause he started at three and is now pretty old. Practice makes perfect, and the pains will go away, just fight through it, trust me.

Im not sure exactly how Victor does it, but Ive kind of figured out my own approach to it. Use the fret hand to hammer on the actual notes. Make sure your fret hand is over the rest of the strings to keep them from making noise. While that is going on, you are using a double thumb technique with your picking hand. When you start hearing those triplets, I use a thumb down, thumb up, and pointer finger pluck to acheive it. I hope I explained it well enought for you to understand. Good luck to ya!
