Tofino is such a beautiful area. The locals are complete ass holes and the surf sucks the majority of the time. Twin rivers is the only break i thought was ok Still nothing special. Much better waves out from Victoria. Jordan river and up the coast is way better . The waves are way better and the locals are nicer. Needs an in coming tide and a big swell.

Actually, yes, on the great lakes when storms come up from the US you can find surf.

Also, there are *FANTASTIC* river surfing spots in Ontario (such as the Ottawa River) you can get a long board onto a river and surf it - just be aware of the river etiquette as it differs from surfing rules.
