One thing I hate is clamshell blister packing. I don't understand why it came into such wide spread use. Not only is it bad for the environment it is very difficult to open, often requiring a knife. In addition the packing often ends up sharp, I have cut myself often on them.
AMD used to pack their CPUs in blister packs, I always feared breaking the delicate CPU just trying to unpack it. They now pack their CPUs in cardboard boxes with an "eggbox" card insert.

I would support a "Plastic tax".

So would many other people. Blister packaging can be reused but in retail it is usually thrown away by purchaser. Patrick Dixon
