  • 'dislike'........syke! hahaa...

  • this is awesome thanks for posting it so i can listen to it again and again

  • WOW, beautifull music, great sound(as you'd expect from a cp80, wow i love that instrument).

    Great great great!

  • Absolutely one of the most incredible arrangements of music that I've seen to date. Pathetic that there are only 3000 views on this. That number needs a couple more zeroes on the end of it ;D

  • @sethm81392 Thanks, ha. This comment brought a smile to my face, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Wow, I'm trying really hard to come up with the music on the piano without the sheet music. Did you have sheet music or did you learn it by ear? because it's absolutely fluent, like speech! Just stunning!

  • @GeorgettoSpahgetto I learned this piece by ear, although I didn't quite get it perfect; the second chord of the bridge ("Don't start me trying now") that I play is not quite what Elliott plays on the recording. I messed around with a few different chords and looked it up online, but in the end the B/C# (rough estimate) is what I went with for that spot. Thanks for listening!

  • @GeorgettoSpahgetto - just study up theory, chords, improvisations and you'll be able to do the saying. It looks like a lot, but it's not really....I USE TO THINK THE SAME BEFORE I TOOK A JAZZ IMPROV CLASSES....

THIS IS CHILD'S PLAY COMPARED TO WHAT COULD BE DONE WITH THIS KIND OF MELODY. HE'S USING REAL BASIC MAJOR / MINOR ARPEGGIOS UP AND DOWN

  • As if a terrific interpretation of Angeles wasn't enough- You do it on a Yamaha CP-80.

Thumbs up- keep on playing sir

  • @ficticiousEntity Thanks so much, I really appreciate it.

  • This is the most original and best interpretation of a instrumental cover of elliott smith. You are amazing, keep making beautiful music for us to enjoy. Thanks for this.

  • @jasonlentz Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed the arrangement.

  • just awesome !!!

  • @89jobo Thanks!

  • My word...This is amazing!

    You've done a hell of a job!

  • @AndrewBradleyMusic Thanks!

  • Do you have sheet music for this???

    Really good!!

  • @thorpa01 No sheet music yet. I'll let you know if I have time to write this arrangement out. Thanks!

  • @joshuapiper If you do so, you might let me know too?. That' sounds so damn nice

  • @Keyes117 Of course I will let you know as well. Thank you very much.

  • AMAZING. Your fingers are all crazy. Haha.

  • @punksevilla666 Ok. I am currently working on some new arrangements, but will also try to put together a video "how to" of this piece.

  • Indeed, very well done, please teach us (:

  • @Flingflungflungfling Thank you, I'll work on a video "how to" in addition to some new arrangements I am putting together, and will post them in the next few weeks.

  • WOW...didn't expect there to be a version of this composed for the piano, and definitely not one that's done so well..... nice job!!!!!!!!

  • @cobbster21 Thank you very much.

  • Wow. I've never heard that. Very well done, Josh. You just got a new subscriber.

  • @pianoman1969 Thank you for your kind compliment.

  • I would love to sing to this arrangement. :( So beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. Well done sir. Well done.

  • @rockstarmommi Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the piece.

  • what is up with the D key 3 octave from center?

you were rockin a ballad weren't you......

nice arrangement. i like it alot. there is a tiny bit of fuz going on, and i dont know from what, seems like the higher end.

oh and my dog loves when i play too.

peace from the west coast of canada

    vasyL ko

  • @aquiferarts

I taped down the key so it would ring at the beginning and end of the song, to emulate the way Elliott recorded the song. If there is fuz, it is probably from Youtube encoding. Check the MP3, it should be higher-quality. Thanks for the compliments!

  • So beautiful!! I love how your dog came and sat by you! Any sheet music by chance?

  • @teddyslover

If I ever get the time, I would love to notate this piece... Thanks for the kind words.

  • @joshuapiper i will give you 50 bucks if you make sheet music for this

  • Hey man, great cover. I will be picking up a CP70B later this month, and I was just curious what you used to record this. Was it right out of the XLRs? or through an amp of some sort?

The sound you are getting sounds far closer to a regular piano than a lot of the CP demos on here, but I am sure the lack of tremolo may be a factor.

its nice to hear this piano used to play stuff from an artist I like, most of the demos on here are of keane, which gets a bit old.

  • @battlehip

Thank you very much, glad you liked it. Neato on the CP70B, congrats! I use the XLR outputs directly into a Presonus Firestudio Project. I did a little bit of post-processing, mostly just rolling off the lows and a little bit of reverb.

  • Your arrangement is just perfect

You even think of the high note in the whole song, with you two high piano strings

    =)

I love those kind of details ! ;)

  • @Ange8

Thanks! The CP80 is one of my favorite instruments to play.

  • Another great rendition! You impress.

  • @pressureofdays Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it. I'm working on another Elliott cover that I should have some time to record and upload this week hopefully.

  • dude you are amazing

  • Absolutely amazing! Elliott would be proud...

  • Thank-you.

  • freakin' awesome!!

  • Thanks! Neat username.

  • This is amazing

  • Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Wow.. this one's very great. really like this version!

  • Thank you very much!

  • I really loved your interpretation of Between The Bars, I find it way more "sensitive" than Christopher O'Reilly's one in his tribute album Home to Oblivion. I downloaded the MP3 almost immediatly. Great quality, by the way.

And, of course, I'd love to have the MP3 of that track as well.

Your work is really worth it. Honest.

  • Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed my arrangement. I've uploaded an MP3, and the link is in the comments.

  • Very nice version! Where can I get the tabs?

  • Thank you! Unfortunately this is arrangement is not written down.
