Oh, man, this stuff is brilliant! I was only 12 in '78, but that's when I shut off the (portable) radio & dove into my folks' Beatles records. I recall hearing the Eagles' "New Kid in Town" & thinking, OK, rock is truly dead. The late '70s/early '80s were a crap time to be a teen. Also, Rayguns got elected & instead of wild funky clothing, our student body sported the granny-waved short hair, skirts down to the shins & the boys stuffed themselves into Izod shirts & docksiders.
