@leolizard74 Yeah, I was just reading about the movie in today's local paper... according to the article, your great granddad refused to pay off law enforcement to avoid being arrested... that's the first I'd heard of anyone bucking the system.
It's well known throughout my family, and a select group of friends, that my grandfather used to get tipped off a couple of hours before the revenuers showed up, though he was tried & found guilty at the great conspiracy trial in 1935.
The taxes the gov't does NOT get are spent by the people who produced something instead of being wasted on those who refuse to work for a living and those who work for the gov't.
moonshine is still a big business there making movies everywhere it seems I was born in richmond va now live in nc where I live they made a movie called red dirt rising about moonshine and the start of stock car racing pre nascar so franklin county gets one too the way this country is today moonshine is making a big come back although it never left more people will be having there own still just to get more money to support there families.
