  • Great to hear an Earthsong , gives you the feeling of being part of the mystery , warms the heart lifts the spirit fills the soul makes you think and want to lay in a field just to breathe , Cheers Martin very powerfull song !!!

  • Good Song .My daughter is 5 and she knows this song by heart.

  • @hakkamantis That's wonderful - I learned it when I was 6 or 7 and I still sing it all the time now at 25

  • The musician / songwriter singer is Martin Donnelly from Holywood County Down. He has just released a new album. His first album is on spotify.

  • Anybody know who the musician is that sings this song?

  • @kenzokan Martin Donnelly here. Its my song. Now live on you tube

  • lol i expected greenman from always sunny in philadelphia to pop out of nowhere..wrong video

  • Beautiful song.

  • Thanks Cloudy :) and I also wish for a time machine. I believe I would be hapyer in simpler timnes with other Pagans and the celebrations. I Love the Earth. ;) Mabon is soon so HAPPY MABON everyone. :)

  • Read some archaeology books please instead of fluffy new age mysticism. Paganism today bears little relation to the actual practices of neolithic & bronze age peoples of Britain. They may have been close to the land, sure, but they lived hard lives. Death was everywhere. Average life expectancy - 30 yrs old with high infant mortality. They defleshed deceased bodies & revered the bones. That wouldn't be too pleasant having to carve up poor Aunt Bess in this day and age but it was vital to them.

  • As Above. So Below.

  • Go Green Man! )O(

  • Exactly what evidence have you for this? I think it very unlikely they are fake. What are they supose to be, plastic in your opinion?

  • Really like this track.

  • Merry Beltane all!

  • Thank you Cloudy for sharing. I am a christian, but sometimes I wonder if ancient times they did not have the right idea in worshiping the earth, the provider of life. They respected and loved the gift we were given. Today we take for granted that same gift and abuse the bounty that was given to us. Lack of respect and honor has done serious damage. I wish for a time machine sometimes, to go back to simpler times. Thank you for posting.

  • Hope everyone had a happy earth day !! :)

    Cool video !!!

Thanks to cloudy chamber for the share !!

    5*****

  • man this sounds like a modern

    Donnovan

  • never seen it that close, great

man next time lay off the booze

    the night before

    who sings the song

    cheers

  • Very melodic

  • Donnelly's voice is so deep and so nuanced. He brings the Green Man to life. I would like to tsee the lyrics posted. That drum in the background always makes me feel like I am at Beltane or some such.

  • "The circle is cast, with truth and love, Lord and Lady and stars above"

  • nice video, but why the hefty movementts with the camera

  • I was busy looking at what I was recording while I was walking without looking where I was going.

  • @jeannevdb Sorry about the delay in reply to comment, but in this video I was walking backwards and wasn't sure of my footing.

  • Good Song.. Nice Video of the Henge.

  • Stonehenge maybe a tourist site but ive been to a lot of stones in Scotland and they are all more or less the same shape not a circle but eligned with the Sun and the moon plus they are very active forces at work within them at different times of the turning year try going to a single stone or an ancient Celtic site on one of the sabbats, why are they all lined up with the Sun and Moon???????

  • i love this son by Martin Donelly I thought it was going to be the second coming of Gordon Lightfoot and then some but hasn't caught on.

  • good job

  • Just to share the info: the song is by Martin Donnelly from his Stone & Light album. You can download it from Amazon for, I think, 99 cents or so.

  • Such a nice, gentle song. Thanks Druid64!

  • Lovely song. )O(

  • I still feel Stonehenge is for the tourists, a handy coach ride from London. The real treasures are the Avebury temple complex and Newgrange.

  • Not to mention all the wonderful things tucked away out of the tourists' glare.

  • CNN states ...stonehenge is burial plots of the Elite...if so ....imagine all the money in tourism in the name of the richest..I would rather believe ..stonehenge is where great forces are at work...cosmic,energy ,vortex some majestic force of nature...~~~peace~~~

  • you have the right to believe what you believe, CNN may assert that but we have no clue why the stones are where they are. One theory is that it was considerd to be a place of healing, so your beliefs may be correct!

    Peace

  • i think is just a sign because today in my test i have something in the booklet that look just like that but smaller it read it was use for signs and stuffs well idk

  • It's beautiful! :)

  • AAAAAAh Love this song. Thanks!

  • I still find it interesting that people believe stonehenge to be a religious sight for wicca/druidism. The site was built around 3100 BC The earliest druids were dated to the 12th century BC.

Seems like some people need to research thier beliefs before blindly following the crowds...

  • What you say is true. However, while we know the Druids did not build stonehenge, it is resonable to assume that they would have made use of such an imposing structure. We know nothing of the Druids ancestors who built stonehenge. But isn't it reasonable to assume that they had a shamanistic society whose polytheistic beliefs, social customs, and religious rituals were quite similar to those of their descendants - the Druids?

  • The point being: the standing stones date to 2200 BC, the surrounding ditch and earthen mound date to 3100 BC, and the 5 post holes marked in the carpark across the motorway date to 8000 BC. It is an ancient site, built by a society we know nothing about - not even their name. We know with some accuracy when they were built - we can never know by whom. - And in the end, what does it matter? If anything, the mystery enhances one's fascination!

  • Blessed Be to all whom worship their own personal God, the ancient druids knew the world and nature and all that is and was, forever shall be the guardians of the earth Blessed Be, and Merry Part

  • Wise words :) Blessed be, Merry Part.

Lovely viedo and nice song. Stonehenge looks so lovely and grey, all the crows hopping on it - beautiful.
