I grew up reading Margurite Henry's White Stallions, and it is one of the few adulthood cases of the reality is better then the childhood dream. This just gave me the chills.
The other 3 baroque schools are very nice but do not hold a candle to the sophistication, grace and correctness of the SRS in Vienna. I saw them first in NYC,1962 when Podhasky was still head rider. It left an impression on me that has lasted 40+years. I have ridden in their beautiful building and enjoyed their generous assistance with my riding. Next to being married it's the most important experience of my life. Carol Popp
@PoulnabroneModesty I think this type of riding lessons should now be available to all, since riding is so much more widespread and people taking an interest in riding with the most sophisticated tecnhniques available to them. Many are also interested in learning classical training vs the modern dressage, and it would benefit horses and people all over. I wish they would extend and open a school in the U.S.!
These horses are like no others...the training like nothing else I have seen. I have trained with a Master from the SRS and he was a true gentleman in every sense of training and in living......
Charming presentation. The Lippizaners are magical (saw them 3 times in 1977 in Vienna). The "slow-mo" effects in this video gave you a chance to really appreciate the tremendous effort behind the art of these magnificent steeds. Thanks for posting!
W-freaking-O-W. I wish I could learn there... even though I like hunter/jumper more than dressage. OMG that stallion's "airs" were GORGEOUS! I saw the Lippizan Stallions here in Canada... I was breath-taken.
OUTSTANDING ! I was in Vienna a few short weeks ago and was able to watch them perform. How fitting it is a young girl who is featured now that woman after 436 years are now officially able to apply to the School.
Woachh.. what a beautyful video ! :O
i make a presentacion about horses... and it would be very nice if i could use it...
Could You send it to me please ?
Thanks a lot, Marysia :)

I was there last week and loved it. I ride myself and find this training to be so complete. These horses are treasured athletes.
