Wonderful, rare footage. Reading The Glamour Chase book just now, and went to see his grave last year..........not morbid, just simply respectful. It's on Balgay Hill, Dundee and is quite near the front. He is in the same grave as his beloved mother.
Can you contact me regards a DVD copy please. That would be amazing. Thanks.
@hbotis I'll send you a message. I do a double DVD that includes this and others - I do charge a bit to cover my costs, otherwise I'd be out of pocket..
In fact, if ANYONE wants a copy, please send me a message.
Yeah, he was a class act -old Billy Golden tonsils. Sadly missed. I love this interpretation of the Billy Holiday classic., although I think his version of it from the John Peel sessions is even better.!Anyone know anything about a track called "Whippets"?
Thank you so much, spacehopper70, for uploading this incredible performance. There are several other songs from Billy's outstanding Ronnie Scott's showing, but this was a key exclusion. What vocal acrobatics! So very different from the 1976-1982 Rankine-years, but as much as I loved Rankine's brilliant instrumentation, I'm glad Billy did some slower/softer stuff that more purely showcased his awe-inspiring pipes.
Would love to get hold of the DVD
