  • Köszönöm szépen!

  • this is absolutely great, thanks for sharing!...

  • Anu is playing the guitar and the gal to the right is her sister Triinu i think. If you like their music also check out the band Virre' and VIrreplus.

Rudy Maxa on PBS in the states has a great program on beautiful Estonia and Virre' is featured on it. It's avail. from Netflix too. FYI...Steve

  • I have listened to this clip (love it) and I have the following questions:

Is this kind of music unique to Estonia? What is the name of these instruments? How did an Estonian band end up performing in Szombathley, Hungary? Could you explain it a bit?

    ben

  • Hi Ben, 1)I dont think this kind of music would be unique in Estonia, cos this is their national music. The Baltic-Finnic and Finno-Ugric music types all have some similarities. In Europe can be unique, cos that music is not played everywhere. 2)The left and right sides there are two types of accordions. The left one is the most well known, specially in Eastern Europe. But not unique to Estonia. The right one is a little different, but I dont know much about that. It is a type of accordion.

  • ...2)The middle one is on the left is acoustic guitar, which I think I dont need to introcuce to you. Estonian folk musicians use unique instruments too. For example "wind instrument". When you listen to this, it makes you feel like in wind. This does not appear in this video. 3)In the first week of March, it was an Estonian folk week around in Hungary. During this week, in some galleries or special places you can meet with photos, dinners or music events related to Estonia. They were invited!

  • Dear Ben, I hope you are satisfied with this information here. If you wanna know more, then dont hesitatet to contact me!

  • Szombathely is where my wife was born. I came across this clip and I gotta say I love this music. I know the band is from Estonia. Their instruments are very interesting. Such a beatuful music in such a simple place.

  • Yeah, they were excellent. If it is up to them, it seems Estonian people are really nice :). It was a pleasure to meet with them and enjoy their music and performance. Unfortunately, I have not got any more videos. :( Enjoy this one listening to many times in the future!

  • Fantastic! Amaizing! I saw them this week in Szeged, that was a wonderful concert! Nice people, beautiful voices, super instruments!
