@thesleepingpolicemen I have to agree. Im sick of all of these critically acclaimed indie bands at the moment. These bands are not only unoriginal but boring as well. Where's the fucking passion? Not only that but where's the ambition? If you're happy playing to about 10 aenemic looking hipsters then thats what you deserve. If I was in a band as shit as this I wouldnt have any ambitions for my music either.

@thesleepingpolicemen Agreed, but I would say that Dum Dum Girls are a bright spot in an otherwise godawful trend in indie rock. Listen to this right after Vivian Girls or, even worse, that smug motherfucker Wavves, and this sounds like a modern classic. It's like everyone is competing to see who can put forth the least effort and still get a good review on pitchfork. At least here they bothered to give it a catchy chorus.

How in God's name is Richard Gottehrer involved with these guys and yet the mix sounds this bad? This tune has loads of potential commercially, but it sounds like a bootleg that was recorded in a really reverberant hall with mics at the back of it and the band toward the front. It's almost like they made the mixing decisions by flipping a coin. So the melody and backing vocals get buried and the rhythm section has no punch.

The other tunes I have heard from them sound equally as terrible.

I like the Dum Dum Girls even more after seeing them live. I thought they sounded better live than their recordings. They were fuller, punchier and bassier. I think the lead singer is really talented but it gets over looked just because of their style. People are assholes. I'm going to try to see them again at Art Fag Fest in San Diego.

Saw Dum Dum Girls and Crocodiles open for the Ravoenettes last night in Solana Beach .... All bands were unreal ... Ravoenettes of course are hard to beat, but Crocodiles were highly impressive
