First off, American treasury has never defaulted before, so how can it be a problem of China? It's just another way of Americans trying to look tough, but in reality, they are indebted to a Communist strategic rival - America isn't even fit to be a great power let alone a superpower.
I usually enjoyed SNL, but I found this offensive to the ethnic Chinese. Couldn't there be another way to tell the same story than mocking the Chinese accent. I have never seen any other language getting the same treatment before. The Chinese expression "戲而不謔" "Funny but not insulting" would be a better choice for SNL。
Korean Won and Japanese Yen are cognates of Chinese Yuan, which all mean "round" due to the coinage of ancient Imperial China. In fact, the Yen and the Yuan share the same symbol.
