I am struggling to watch my new Flip Mino HD movies FROM ITunes. The color is changing. It did not happen with other NO HD movies I've taken with the old Flip Camcorder.

Another tip: it did not happen in my other computer. FYI, Both have the same performances.

when i finally learned to do this, i uploaded a video to youtube... and they didnt show up in my video.. although they did in sony vegas movie studio hd any help? i'll post a video responce too

use 'render as' to render the video to wmv

Then upload the wmv to YouTube.

When I back up my video footage from the flipcam to a folder on my HD then delete the footage from the flipcam, then copy across a file I backed up on my HD back across to the flipcam, its keeps saying 'Camcorder Empty'

Any ideas?

Why are you trying to moving files back to the flipcam?

I was doing an experiment with youtube files which I downloaded and converted to AVI then passed them on to the flipcam and tried displaying them on the TV using the flipcams TV out lead, but it didn't work.

BTW I got the files captured using the flip to transfer back to the flipcam, I needed to create a folder for them.

i watched this video at your request. the small wonder has a similar set up and i run the program and save the videos to the computer the same way you show on the FLip. unfrotunately there is no audio when i import these videos over to vegas movie studio 9. is there a way to get the audio to work?

If you import the videos to your computer, and if they play in windows media player and play the audio, but the audio track doesn't appear in vegas, it means the correct audio codec for rendering is not on your computer.

I don't use Vista, so can't help with your question.

You might go to the flip video software page, and see if they have the codec download there.

Hi, ye the bit doesnt pop up on my pc when i put my camera into the pc (i have vista) is that a problem? and also when you do this can you edit your videos on ms movie maker?

I edit with Sony Vegas. And until you install the codec from the flip camera, you may only hear the audio, and see black video.

The correct codec is on the camera software and can be installed from the camera to your computer.

I've made by flip video and have plugged it in. But it is not downloading the "Muvee Video Mixing Software". It just gets stuck. I see others from other sites are having this same problem. You mention codec (is that short for something?) is this codec the same as the Muvee Video Mixing Software?

Is there somewhere else I can get this software and have it load properly. BTW, I love your explanations... I hope you can help me and others with this problem.

The codec is not the same thing as the muvee mixing software. Muvee is a 3rd program which can automatically mix video and photos.

In order to edit video from the flip, you have to connect as shown above, so the video codec is loaded into your computer.

Okay, so I'll plug in the flip... but muvee will not download... but I can still work with codec? How do I do that?

The codec is not tied to the 3rd party muvee software, but to the way videos are compressed in the flip.

To download muvee, you can always visit the muvee site.

As shown at 1:07 in the above video, when you plug your flip camcorder into your computer, choose 'view your flip camcorder videos using the program provided on the device'.

This loads the codec, and software you can use to view and move the videos from the camcorder to your computer.

Thanks Bill, but I've tried that many times. I think I have a defect in my flip software for muvee. I do the above... and it gets "stuck" during loading. Thanks anyway for trying to help and thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

The Flip Video is in the UK now. It installs a program called 3ivx on your computer - I'm not sure what that's for!

I have saved my Flip videos using the camcorder software as you suggest, but still can't see my .avi video in Sony Vegas 8. Does that mean the camcorder hasn't loaded the codec? How else can you find it and install it?

You have to install the flip video codec onto your computer as shown in the above video, else you will only see black screen when you try to edit using Sony Vegas and most other editing programs.

Install the divx codec from the flip video camera. You have to do this if you want to use the video in any editing program.

Flip videos probably can't delete themselves from Sram. Maybe the videos aren't being recorded, or maybe you need to connect to your computer to check the list of files on the flip camera.

Yea, I think a lot of cameras do similar things like that. I think that it's just because you need the codec to read the files properties which includes the video itself.
