First off, even if the movie was relevant, Mewtwo change his ways later anyway. Second, this has very little to do with any of the character's backgrounds and focuses on Smash alone.

I understand where you're coming from, though. The main thing to remember about many of my series is that the characters often times act in ways they normally wouldn't.

Pretty much the whole basis for the series is tiers, so Mewtwo and Pichu, both being bottom tier and Pokemon, have developed a close friendship. Also, after Mewtwo Returns, he changes too, so that helps.

There actually weren't. It's just a whole bunch of different clips. Although there is an Action Replay code to have all characters on-screen at once.
