You can only play games that are burned with a

DVD-R burner not with a DVD+R that doesn't work

And for burning original wii games you wil need a LG DVD-drive only LG DVD-drive's can copy GOOD wii games the others sucks;)

right on bro...but keep in mind you cant:

recover from a bricked wii

run SOFTMII themes app

use preloader to bypass disk updates,copy flags and region issues on Wii GC and wiiware VC games

but worst of all you cant just load the game from the actual disk channel! ;) (some would say no brick recovery is worst of all) lol

75% of bricks happen from BAD UNTESTED WAD FILES...i would look into downgrading to 3.2 if only to save your wii after a brick :( (lil mod insurance for reading the description)

get the wad file (which is the channel) and use wad installer to install the channel you will need to have genral knoledge of homebrew on the wii and have your wii homebrew enabled to do this hack DO THAT ON YOUR OWN LIKE THE REST OF US DO!...USE GOOGLE ITS NOT A SARCASTIC STATEMENT OR ECHO it just works people try it and READ THE DESCRIPTIONS!

no ... If you have a PAL region game and want to play it on a NTSC console your burn the PAL game to dvd-r with IMGburn and load up the loader...the go to the config menu and choose to FORCE NTSC if your console is NTSC or force PAL to run a NTSC game on a PAL console...you see?

i do have it connected....WIRED....i can play my WIFI games perfectly...so its not a WIFI problem....any other probable reasons??? i dont get any sort of error...it just does not do anythin when i press A...

then you will have to locate a WAD file waninkoko made of his newest CIOS installer or get a DUMP of the files needed and put it in your root....So yeah if your just trying to avoid doing it online (because i have hacked over 10 wii's using this same package) then you are only making it harder...ONLINE IS THE EASY WAY if you think its the DOL go ahead and google backup loader 0.3gamma and run the CIOS install in the official release (its the same one but hey!) if it makes u happy?!

Hi mate. I just DLed the loader and installed it. I had tried to play backup games before with Super Mario Brawl.. but it freezes at game start what so ever. So I tried with this loader, and still it freezes. Is it just the game or is it my DVD you think? I used a 2.4x DVD+R DL . 8.5GB big. I know I ask kind of noobish, but any help would be awesome. there is a DVD-% and dvd-9 version of the backup available on torrent at mininova so i know one CAN make a dvd-r burn of the game..that said USE DVD_R-DL they may cost a bit more but they work the first time with smash bros...BE SURE YOU HAVE THE CIOSinstall properly installed or games wont work (i would try a backup of a single layer less troublesome game to test my loader THEN worry about the only dual layer game out)

get online first (test it with a online app or game internet browser...weather channel...news channel..Whatever you want to test and be sure you are online) When your sure your online is working then just run CIOSinstall it grabs the files you need from the Net (and installs it all for you really!) After that you run the backup loader 0.3 and you should be able to run backups but SEE THE BOTTOM 2 LINKS IN DESCRIPTION!

What speed did you burn with the Sony DVD-R? Also, did you book type the Sony DVD-R to DVD-ROM?

16X or whatever your DVD says it can handle for a burn speed..Some burn at 4x to be safe...For the wii this is not really needed however for ps1 games IT IS because the laser on a ps1 reads games at 1-4X but skips when burned any faster....with the wii that does not matter so much ;) even NOW we can only READ at 3x thats how fast the LOADER can do it OH AND I MEANT CHECK OUT THE TOP LINKS IN THE DESCRIPTION FOR MORE INFO ON COMPAT LIST"S ECT!

I DONT dvd-r's are about 80% more compatible...

I have used Maxell dvd-r,Verbatum dvd-r, Sony dvd-r's all with success and NO dvd+r's have worked proper yet! I have a Sony Dual Layer RW DRU drive for a burner (50$ at walmart for those curious) but any dvd burner will work ;) just burn your ISO File Image of the BACKUP DISC to a blank DVD-R using IMGburn (free download at Download dot c o m)
